Chapter 228 - Chapter 228 : Can I also play chess at the table??

"Hold on, I'm coming."

As the reinforcements entered the battlefield, the Guide's voice echoed in the Players' comms.

The Warmaster, Tenjiro, and other Players widened their eyes. "No way!"

"This is possible?"

"Good heavens, tell me quickly, are you an undercover agent sent by the game's official?"

"Right after I said it, the Guide arrived."

"This hack is too obvious, you can't handle it. Listen to my advice, turn off the hack, and let me do it."

The Warmaster beheaded a Tyranids that lunged at him, then turned to look at Sea Turtle.

"Is your name KING in Reality?" Tenjiro also played along with the meme.

"Emperor Engine activated, strongest skill, Summoning, activated." Twisted person also joined in the fun.

"Shouldn't KING's strongest skill be 100% making enemies fantasize?" Zhuge, with a thoughtful expression, asked a soul-searching question.

"Your point of view makes a lot of sense." Tenjiro stroked his chin.

"Stop with the nonsense, let's go catch Vect first." The Warmaster interrupted the sidetracked group. "As long as we capture this Archon, we will be the MVP of this war."

"But we don't even know where Vect is?" Sea Turtle said.

"Tenjiro, go find some injured Drukhari / Dark Aeldari and see if you can read their memories. The rest of you, follow me to a high vantage point. Given Vect's cautious nature, he's probably retreating now."

Upon receiving the order, the Players of the Emperor Niuma Battle Group sprang into action.

Tenjiro went to find those Drukhari / Dark Aeldari who seemed to be of higher status to read their memories.

The others activated their flight thrusters and ascended to the top of the spires to survey the situation, searching for clues about Vect and other high-ranking Drukhari / Dark Aeldari.

At this moment, Ghomorra's Kabal forces had utterly collapsed and were fleeing in all directions.

However, some Drukhari / Dark Aeldari had chosen to completely give up, attempting to hunt enough lives to please themselves before death arrived.

The obstacles for the Players came precisely from those Drukhari / Dark Aeldari who had given up.

Bang! Bang!

After several gunshots,

several Drukhari / Dark Aeldari who attempted to attack the Warmaster had their bodies shattered by the Players.

Having dealt with the enemies, the Player squad led by the Warmaster landed on a towering spire, overlooking the entire city of Ghomorra.

At this moment, the entire city was burning.

Magnificent high towers made cracking sounds in the flames, then collapsed with a roar, occasionally exploding.

Many Drukhari / Dark Aeldari were fleeing.

Tenjiro's voice came through the communicator,

"Boss, I got some useful information from a unlucky guy's mind. Vect has fled his residence and ordered the detonation of the Black Sun to destroy Ghomorra before leaving."

The Warmaster gripped the weapon in his hand, looking around the smoke-filled Ghomorra, searching for the Archon's figure.

"This guy is cautious enough. No matter what, we have to catch him. Also, pay attention to Ahriman's whereabouts. If you find his trace, prioritize catching that bastard."

"Remember our slogan: The war can be lost, but Ahriman must die."

"Vect has already fled. That guy should be riding his pyramid. Everyone, activate your scanning devices to see if you can lock onto him."

As soon as the Warmaster finished speaking, Adilanse pointed in a direction.

"Is that it?"

The Warmaster and other Players looked over and indeed found a pyramid mixed in with a bunch of flying vehicles attempting to escape Ghomorra.

"Request battleship strike, coordinates —."

The Warmaster was very decisive.

Regardless of whether that pyramid was Vect's personal craft, he marked it as a strike target.

Better to kill the innocent than let a guilty one escape.

Moreover, among the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari of Ghomorra, there wasn't a single good one to be found, so killing them all didn't matter.

The next second, several energy beams shot out, destroying all the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari flying vehicles in that area. That pyramid was also hit, falling to the ground engulfed in flames.

"Let's go, let's go check it out."

The Warmaster activated his flight thrusters,

bright flames spewed from the engine ports on his back, sending him soaring into the sky.

The other Players followed suit,

together, they rushed with thunderous momentum towards where the pyramid had fallen.

O'Shi and other T'au commanders, riding Manta gunships, Orca dropships, Devilfish troop carriers, and other vehicles, landed on the surface of Ghomorra.

The architecture of this dark city involuntarily instilled fear in them.

The evil of Ghomorra had permeated every atom that made up this city.

At this moment, in the sky, the Human, Ork, and Tyranids / Tyranid forces were fighting fiercely.

The Drukhari / Dark Aeldari warships chose to flee, escaping through the Webway towards the Reality universe.

The T'au fleet was the weakest, unable to defeat the other forces, and unable to find a way to leave, so they could only choose to abandon their ships and flee to the surface.

"Immediately release the drones to scan the landing zone and establish a battlefield situation map."

"Protect the Earth Caste scientists and have them find a way out as quickly as possible."

"This place is too bizarre, and the various events happening here completely deviate from the teachings of the Greater Good. Be careful with everything, do not underestimate the enemy."

O'Shi continuously issued orders.

Just as the Fire Caste warriors were establishing a defensive line,

a group of T'au people, who had been enslaved by the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari of Ghomorra, found them,

among them was even an Ethereal.

This Ethereal, named Aun'Shi, was a legendary T'au hero who had defeated countless enemies.

However, during an investigation into Commander Farsight's betrayal of the T'au Empire, he was captured by the Drukhari / Dark Aeldari and thrown into an arena.

If there had been no accident, this Ethereal should have fought to the death in the arena,

but the Human attack gave him an opportunity to escape. He called upon all the T'au people to revolt, and eventually broke out of the arena, gaining freedom.

"We always thought you had sacrificed yourself."

O'Shi bowed to Aun'Shi.

In the T'au's hierarchical society, the Ethereals held the highest status.

Fire Caste, Water Caste, Earth Caste, Air Caste—all these castes had to respect the Ethereals.

"Just barely." Aun'Shi said, "How did you know I was here?"

O'Shi showed an embarrassed expression, "Sir, we didn't know you were here. We were accidentally pulled into this place during our Warp travel."

"So that's how it is." Aun'Shi was not disheartened by this; the tempering in the Ghomorra arena had made him more mature.

"Mark this place. When we have the chance in the future, we must return here and turn it into ashes." Aun'Shi said, "The beings in this place have completely fallen, and there is no possibility of salvation."

Recalling the various experiences in the arena, and the humiliation he suffered at the hands of that Drukhari / Dark Aeldari female, Aun'Shi wished he could immediately lead the T'au Empire army to burn this terrifying hell to ashes.

O'Shi said weakly, "Sir, there's something I must tell you."

Aun'Shi looked at O'Shi, waiting for him to continue.

O'Shi organized his words before continuing, "That is, we cannot leave this place,

because this place is full of oddities, and our instruments cannot chart a route."

"It seems to be alive, changing every second."

"Is that true?" Aun'Shi looked at several Earth Caste scientists.

They nodded in agreement.

And at this moment,

a group of Drukhari / Dark Aeldari emerged, led by none other than Vect.

His flying pyramid had been hit by an attack released by the Human warship and crashed nearby.

Most of his subordinates had already fled, with only a few loyal followers remaining.

He needed to find some useful helpers to assist him in escaping the Heading towards destruction Ghomorra.

These T'au people before him were the best choice.

"Archon!" Aun'Shi stared intently at Vect, gripping his weapon tightly.

Having stayed in Ghomorra for so long, he naturally knew the story of this Archon.

Ghomorra's uncrowned king, the embodiment of evil terms like blood, darkness, and conspiracy,

the most wicked and cunning villain in the galaxy, skilled at manipulating human hearts.

"I've seen you before." Vect had an excellent memory; he recognized Aun'Shi.

"You are Selene's favorite; her arena came back to life because of your arrival."

"To her, you should be her benefactor. Otherwise, she would have been reduced to the lowest slave to pay off her debts."

Aun'Shi said nothing, only staring at Vect.

He had heard terrifying stories about Vect from many guards and slaves.

No one could truly kill this guy,

and those who tried to kill him often met a tragic end.

"Don't be so hostile towards me. I just want to make a deal with you." Vect tried to make his voice sound a bit kinder.

"No, we will not make any deal with you." Aun'Shi said.

"You will, because I will give you a bargaining chip you cannot refuse." Vect said, "I have studied you. Ethereals hold the highest status in your race, but you also bear the responsibility of leading and protecting the entire T'au race."

"Without my help, you will never be able to leave Ghomorra."

"The complexity of this place is beyond your imagination, and I can take you back to a homeworld."

These words indeed caused a change in Aun'Shi's expression. He turned to look at O'Shi and the others.

Not a single T'au person spoke against it.

It was clear that they all absolutely supported him, their Ethereal.

He could not ignore the lives of these people.

"What kind of deal do you want to make?"

Hearing this, Vect chuckled.

No matter the creature, as long as it possessed emotions, a weakness could always be found.

"You will act as my bodyguards, blocking those who wish to kill me. In return, I will take you away from Ghomorra, to a Webway exit that leads to your homeworld."

"Alright, I agree." O'Shi accepted the deal.

"Then I wish us pleasant cooperation." Vect smiled, "Let's go, we need to leave this place that is about to be destroyed first."

Just as Vect was about to set off, several figures landed in front of them.

It was the Players of the Emperor Niuma Battle Group who had arrived.

"There are even little blue-skins here."

Tenjiro was somewhat surprised to see O'Shi and the other T'au people.

"Didn't you notice earlier? As soon as the rift above Ghomorra opened, the T'au fleet appeared.

Their strength was just too weak; they were blown apart not long after the fighting began."

Zhuge replied nonchalantly while sizing up the T'au people in front of him.

"Humans, in the name of the Greater Good, I hope you will step aside. In this current situation, we do not wish to be your enemies." O'Shi stepped forward and said to Warmaster and the other Players.

"It is us who should be saying that. Today, you blue-skins are lucky; the higher-ups didn't give us a mission to annihilate you, so I don't want to bother with you." Warmaster pointed at the Supreme Overlord.

"Put that guy down and get out of the way."

"He is our collaborator." O'Shi said, "He has to take us out of this strange place."

"What does your deal have to do with us? Leave him, and you can go. Otherwise, none of you will be leaving."

Warmaster activated the weapon in his hand, and bright arcs of electricity covered the broad, thick blade.

He looked at O'Shi, a threatening expression on his face.

"Do you want to start a war?" O'Shi looked at Warmaster, showing no sign of backing down, "Have you considered the cost of provoking us?"

"Don't forget how many times you've lost to us?"

"The glorious years of your race are over; the Greater Good will become the light of salvation for this galaxy, and the T'au Empire will replace you."

A group of Fire Caste warriors in battlesuits stepped forward.

They aimed their guns at Warmaster and the other Players.

After several battles, the T'au Empire had conducted a systematic analysis of the Human Empire's military strength.

They had even reverse-engineered the genes and power armor of the Astartes, finding many tactics specifically designed to counter them.

During this time, Earth Caste scientists had added many new kinetic enhancements to the Fire Caste's battlesuits.

These were specifically for dealing with the Human Empire.

"I said you could leave, but your foolishness has taken that option away." Warmaster sneered at the T'au people in front of him.

"And, do you truly still believe in the 'Greater Good' you speak of?

You've personally seen stars being split open, and witnessed those twisted creatures. Do you think those things can be solved by the toys in your hands?"

"It's just that our technology isn't advanced enough yet. One day, we will solve all of this." O'Shi looked at Warmaster's activated longsword, the dazzling electric arcs reflected in his eyes.

"If you attack us, you will only sound your own death knell. I advise you to think twice."

"Then let's see who lives till the end." Warmaster swung his greatsword, striking at the Fire Caste warrior in front of him.

"You have doomed yourselves!" O'Shi shouted, retreating while letting the Fire Caste warriors advance to fight. However, the battle did not go as smoothly as he imagined.

Warmaster's single sword strike cut through the battlesuits of two Fire Caste warriors, cleaving their bodies in half.

Instantly, blood gushed out.

Meanwhile, the bullets fired by the Fire Caste ricocheted off the surface of his armor.

Tenjiro also unleashed the psychic attack he had prepared.

Violent lightning covered the entire area, causing the hovering drones to overload and fall to the ground after being struck by the lightning.

The Players hiding at higher positions also leapt down, charging towards the T'au squad.

The Emperor Niuma Battle Group could be said to be the most elite organization among the current Players.

Their combat power was immense.

They killed demons as easily as slicing melons and dicing vegetables.

The Fire Caste warriors were initially full of confidence.

But after the battle began, they started to doubt their lives.

These humans were too fast.

Their equipment and firepower were also incomparable to the human warriors they had seen in training.

Their war armor came with deflection shields that could reduce the kinetic energy of bullets, and their back thrusters allowed them high-speed maneuverability and flight.

Even the most advanced battlesuits were like paper in the face of their blades and swords.

Before long, the battlefield was littered with the severed limbs of Fire Caste warriors.

It was a bloody, hellish scene, causing all the T'au people present to show expressions of terror.

"Hold them off, we'll go first!" Vect shouted, "Otherwise, none of us will be able to leave."

"We will never abandon our own people." O'Shi said.

"Then none of us will be able to leave. Human reinforcements will arrive here in a few minutes." Vect looked at O'Shi, "Either cut off an arm to survive, or all of us die here."

"Withdraw the troops first." O'Shi also saw the problem with this human force.

He had also fought human forces before, but he had never seen any with such formidable combat power.

The Fire Caste warriors were utterly helpless before them, being massacred one-sidedly.

Seeing the Ethereal's order, O'Shi had to obey, no matter how displeased he was.

"Retreat!" he shouted.

Vect led them towards a hidden Webway, escaping the battlefield.

After Warmaster beheaded a Fire Caste warrior with a single sword strike, he immediately issued a pursuit order.

"No matter what, we must capture Vect. The MVP of this war must belong to us."

On the Ghomorra battlefield,

Alex arrived with reinforcements, further escalating the intensity of the war.

All factions fought fiercely, and Ghomorra descended into unprecedented chaos.

"To the Dark Throne."

Alex wasted no time; instead, he gathered elite troops to help him open a path to the Dark Throne.

The Chaos Daemon forces tried to stop him, constantly sending out demons to intercept.

But with the help of the Eldar elites, the Custodes, Imperial Fists, Cursed Legion, Zhai Ge, and Celestine,

Alex still successfully carved a bloody path and reached the out-of-control Dark Throne.

At this moment, the Dark Throne was filled with a terrifying psychic power.

This device had been activated but was unguided, causing Ghomorra to be torn apart.

"Yellow Old Man sits on the Golden Throne, and I sit on the Dark Throne."

"As long as you want to save humanity, you can't escape the destiny of sitting on a throne, right?"

Alex muttered to himself while trying to sit on the Dark Throne.

Instantly, an indescribable, terrifying pain tore through his body and soul.

Every inch of his flesh felt as if it was being ground in a millstone, an indescribable agony that made him open his mouth and let out a silent scream.

Accompanying the pain was an unparalleled power, allowing him to instantly grasp all the secrets of the universe.

Light erupted from his eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and other orifices, intensely bright.

Alex's perspective instantly elevated to an indescribably wondrous height.

And on the Ghomorra battlefield, two overlapping suns appeared.

One was golden, and the other was black.

The two suns, overlapping, unleashed towering flames.

Even the Warp was ignited, and countless demons screamed and fled.

"Praise the God-Emperor!" Celestine cried out, the light on her body suddenly becoming incredibly intense, like a true divine being.

More intense flames burned on the bodies of The Cursed Legion, and the bullets they fired at demons and xenos became even more powerful.

Alex gained a wondrous vision.

He overlooked the entire Ghomorra battlefield as if watching a game.

He saw Warmaster and others pursuing Ghomorra's Supreme Overlord.

He saw the daemon army continuously advancing towards the Dark Throne's location.

He saw Fulgrim and Imperial heroes like Celestine bravely resisting the demons.

"outsider."

Khorne was the first to roar, his gaze fixed on the golden sun that Alex had transformed into.

Damn The Cursed one, this winged treasure should belong to him.

Immediately after, the remaining three also cast their gazes, staring intently at Alex, their greed undisguised.

"Oh my goodness, I never thought I'd be able to join the game one day."

Alex, enjoying this wondrous vision, widened his eyes.
