Chapter 166 - Chapter 166 : The Emperor's White Moonlight

"It seems you know me."

Oll walked up to Alex, scrutinizing him from head to toe.

Another brand new plan!

A brand new choice!

I just hope it doesn't end up as messy as last time!

Otherwise, the mess left behind…!

No, there won't be a mess this time.

This should be the last time.

No matter the outcome, it's the last time.

"Who wouldn't know you?" Alex's eyes widened as he looked at Oll.

In the Emperor's heart, who could compare to Malcador? Naturally, it was his white moonlight—Oll Persson.

Who would have thought that the Emperor's first Warmaster would look so ordinary?

He looked like a common face, nothing extraordinary about him.

He had no psychic powers, didn't understand Dark Tongue, and it was unknown how he became the Warmaster.

Was he just relying on his immortality to recklessly court death?

According to unreliable information, Oll was born in 15000 BC.

The Emperor was born in 8000 BC.

This means Oll was several millennia older than the Emperor, making him the oldest immortal.

His presence could be found in many battles throughout human history.

His greatest achievement was at the Tower of Babel, where he stabbed the Emperor to prevent him from abusing the power of Dark Tongue.

The Tower of Babel was also destroyed.

From then on, the two went their separate ways.

By the 31st Millennium, Oll, a private in the Imperial Expeditionary Force, received his retirement rights.

He was granted funds to purchase land commensurate with his years of service.

Ultimately, Oll spent this money on Couss, acquiring 20 hectares of land for himself.

He lived peacefully for eighteen years like this.

Until the Battle of Couss broke out, where the Word Bearers ambushed the Ultramarines.

Under the persuasion of a Cult agent, also his good friend—John Grammaticus—he chose to leave Couss and go to Terra.

He obtained a ritual dagger from a Chaos cultist and used it to cut through dimensions and time, stepping across into a long and arduous journey.

Oll, with a group of companions and an old servitor, wandered through time and space using the ritual dagger and a Warp compass.

Along the way, they were pursued by various enemies—Word Bearers, Alpha Legion, demons, and Cult assassins who wanted to see Horus victorious.

After enduring many dangers, he finally arrived at Terra during the tail end of the Siege of Terra, entering the Imperial Palace Sanctuary.

Unfortunately, the Emperor had already left the Golden Throne and gone to the Avenging Spirit.

Vulcan received them, intending to control them and deal with them once everything settled.

If he was still alive then,

This matter would be properly resolved.

If Horus had won, he wouldn't need to worry about what would happen.

But due to the distortion of the Warp, the Sanctuary and the Avenging Spirit overlapped.

They were able to escape the Custodes and enter the Avenging Spirit.

Here, Oll saw his former good friend, the Emperor, who was about to become the Black King.

Under his, Loken's, and John's persuasion, the Emperor finally gave up on becoming a god, choosing to face the gods as a human.

When the Emperor was gravely wounded by Horus, a lost Oll and John stumbled in by mistake.

At this desperate moment, John used Dark Tongue to send the fully-powered Horus flying,

Gaining a little time for the two of them.

John originally wanted to quickly leave with his friend,

But Oll, looking at the fallen Emperor, was unwilling to leave, only telling John to complete the mission of closing the loop of fate by himself.

Oll shoved the ritual dagger into the Emperor's hand, then stood between the Emperor and Horus.

Even as his body was shattered into a bloody mist, Oll continued to fire, protecting the Emperor.

The ritual dagger Oll brought became the key to breaking the deadlock.

When Horus was deceived by Loken, who was an avatar of the Emperor, into abandoning the gods' power,

The Emperor seized the opportunity, using the ritual dagger to stab the weakened Horus, ending the Great Heresy.

"It's truly an honor to be remembered by a junior," Oll said. "Let's go, your gift is ready."

Alex grinned, "Is it Dark Tongue?"

"Yes, Dark Tongue, and another gift I originally intended to give you when you were stronger, but since you're here this time, you can take it with you. Let it slowly revive when you reach a level where you can use it."

Oll explained as he led Alex towards the city.

The streets were as empty as ever, with no one in sight.

"Why is there no one here?" Alex asked.

"It will become populated. When everything ends, and humanity enters a new era, a magnificent city will always be needed as a Pantheon."

Oll answered casually.

Alex didn't quite understand, but he didn't press for details.

He would naturally understand once his strength increased.

Oll led Alex to a magnificent tall tower.

"This is the reflection of the Tower of Babel in this realm."

"Tower of Babel?"

"Are those characters Dark Tongue?"

Alex examined the tall tower, which was carved with countless ancient, obscure, and difficult-to-understand characters.

"Yes, the language of the Creator. A power that can change Reality just by speaking." Oll said, walking to a stone wall, "Come here, child."

Alex walked over.

Oll pointed to the stone wall, "Stand in front of the stone wall and look at these characters."

Alex did as he was told.

His eyes were fixed on the ancient characters.

As he watched, these characters seemed to be imbued with powerful life force, swirling around, then turning into light and surging into Alex's body.

Besides the characters, there was also an indescribable terrifying power.

However, this power became dormant after entering his body, showing no reaction.

Clearly, this power could only be fully controlled after Alex ascended to a higher level.

Knowledge about Dark Tongue emerged in Alex's mind. This power was incredibly strong, capable of easily changing the structure of the universe.

It could easily change both the Reality universe and the Warp.

However, each time he spoke it, he would have to pay a price.

The greater the destructive power caused by Dark Tongue, the greater the backlash.

"Indeed, everything comes with a price!!"

Alex carefully felt the Dark Tongue skill he had acquired, then opened his eyes and looked at Oll.

"Thank you, senior."

"There's nothing to thank me for. This was always yours." Oll waved his hand, "Oh, by the way, there's something I'd like to ask for your help with."

Alex nodded, "What do you need my help with, senior?"

"Find John Grammaticus, give him a good kick, and tell him it's from Oll."

"Where is he?" Alex asked.

Oll said, "No one knows where he is, but that guy is most likely not dead."

"He still has one last life. As long as he's not dead, he can live on forever, living for thousands of years without any problem."

"Then how should I find him?" Alex asked.

"He will come to find you. Everyone will be drawn to the vortex; no one can escape," Oll said.

"Alright, if he comes to find me, I'll give him a good kick," Alex promised.

Oll nodded with satisfaction, "You must keep your word, child."

… … … …

Alex opened his eyes again, finding himself back in the Praying Sanctuary, as if he had never left.

Cortana's little angel projection appeared beside Alex.

"Master, Xia has sent you a message."

"What did she say?"

"They have captured Landing Port and are asking if they should proceed deeper into the Koronus Expanse?"

Alex shook his head, "Tell her to establish an outpost at Landing Port and not to go deeper for now."

"Also, have all units assemble. We need to go support Baal."
