Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 : A Holy Orbital Bombardment

The Imperial Glory sailed out of the magnificent port of Lykard Space Station.

The thrusters at the rear of the battleship sprayed azure plasma, propelling the massive hull forward, moving its position in low-Earth orbit.

Alex sat on the captain's steel throne, looking down at the entire Bridge.

Holographic projections floated on both sides of the throne.

The computational servitors embedded in the metal platform and walls emitted a noisy ticking sound.

"Estimated to enter the designated orbital coordinates in thirteen minutes."

Wu Mou, sitting in the position of power supervisor, shouted.

With double PhD degrees, his learning ability was very strong.

During this time online, he hadn't fought much.

He had been following his good brother, Old Bird, to learn and research how to operate this massive moon-class battleship.

Now, he was also entrusted with a heavy responsibility, serving as the power supervisor.

"Ground forces have sent us the coordinates of hostile targets."

As Old Bird's voice sounded, the data projection in front of Alex refreshed.

It displayed the entire Tyreen Hive City, marking areas representing enemy occupation in red.

"Order all macro-cannon teams to prepare, charge the lance array, and lock onto surface coordinates A-01: 40° 42' 51.67" N, 74° 0' 21.50" W."

Alex gave commands, imitating the captains in videos.

The various teams within the battleship moved according to his orders.

On the artillery deck, naval officers urged the sailors to act, calibrating the parameters of the macro-cannons.

The Mechanical Priests monitored the reactor output, precisely controlling energy delivery to charge the lance arrays.

The servitors beside them worked while loudly singing "Praise the omnissiah."

++Locking coordinates A-01: 40° 42' 51.67" N, 74° 0' 21.50" W++

++Calculating bombardment trajectory, awaiting sub-program feedback++

The computational servitor beside the throne trembled continuously, repeating Alex's commands.

The projection continued to refresh, and a red death lasso icon appeared on the holographic map, representing the bombardment range.

++Macro-cannons loaded++

++Lance array fully charged++

As the computational servitor announced, green indicator icons popped up on the screen one after another.

"This is a day worth remembering, because it's my first."

Alex thought to himself, then issued the command.

"Transmit orders to all units, tell them to prepare."

"Once the orbital bombardment ends, immediately execute airborne operations and send those traitors to hell."

"Now execute the orbital bombardment procedure, unleash the God Emperor's wrath upon those traitors, and let the sky and earth burn."

"We will soon conquer this planet and offer it to our great Father Nurgle."

"We will turn this world into a beautiful garden, spreading Father Nurgle's generosity so that everyone can find happiness."

"The Emperor's filthy kingdom will eventually collapse, turning into ruins, becoming nourishment for the garden."

A Chaos Priest was giving a speech to devout Cultists in the ruins.

A Cultist with a Chaos symbol carved on his forehead said, "But I heard they seem to have received support from a guy named Guide."

"No matter whose help they get, they are bound to lose."

The Chaos Priest's voice carried pity.

"They worship the Emperor and refuse to see the truth of the universe."

"And the truth is the most powerful thing in this universe; no one can stop it."

"But I also heard they have a moon-class battleship."

A Cultist said uneasily, "And they recaptured Lykard Space Station."

The Chaos Priest smiled, pointing to the sky to soothe the uneasy Cultists.

"So what if they have a battleship? Father Nurgle's divine power protects us."

A Cultist subconsciously followed the Priest's hand and looked up at the sky.

Gloomy clouds obscured the sun.

Making the whole world appear gray.

Suddenly, a certain area of the clouds became increasingly bright.

"What is that thing?" The Cultist's face was full of confusion.

Other Cultists heard his words and looked up at the sky.

The Chaos Priest also looked up, showing a confused expression.

The next second, a tower-like beam of light descended from the sky.

Boom!

The beam of light landed precisely on their artillery position.

The large amount of ammunition piled there was instantly detonated.

The entire position was engulfed by a continuous series of explosions and a sea of fire.

The Cultists and wandering Plague Zombies were blown to pieces.

Soil and flesh were swept up into the sky by the huge shockwave, then fell like raindrops.

Immediately after, aerial bombs fell with whistling sounds.

Bright Mushroom clouds rose one after another.

Terrifying shockwaves, like giant waves, swept in all directions.

The Chaos Priest looked at the approaching sea of fire, crying out in despair.

"Father Nurgle..."

The next second, he was completely engulfed by the flames.

His soul fell into a decaying garden, torn to shreds by hungry demons.

"The God Emperor's wrath has descended upon those traitors."

"Praise the Emperor, His messenger will bring salvation."

The top area of Tyreen Hive City.

Governor Feng, Bishop Hyderak, and other high-ranking officials witnessed this orbital bombardment and praised the Emperor.

The entire outer district was engulfed in a sea of fire.

Without the protection of void shields, the rebels were lambs to the slaughter before the moon-class battleship.

"Blasphemous deceiver of the omnissiah."

Koro Sage of the Adeptus Mechanicus spoke with a cold, mechanical voice.

Feng glanced at him, then looked at his subordinate beside him.

His subordinate nodded slightly, indicating that everything was ready.

Feng then confidently turned his gaze back to the battlefield in the outer district.

To be honest, he didn't want to do such a thing at this critical juncture.

But Koro Sage was so pedantic and stubborn.

Ignoring the holiness and blessings of that Adult.

If he were allowed to live, he would surely bring more trouble in the future.

What that Adult was unwilling to do, he would do it.

To relieve that Adult's worries was also part of loyalty.

Koro Sage would have a dignified end.

The deck of the Imperial Glory echoed with noisy sounds.

All teams were running around, preparing for the upcoming airborne operation.

New players who had just completed basic training were gathered together.

Several industrial servitors were distributing weapons and equipment to them.

And recording the contribution points they owed.

Weapons and equipment were not free, but loaned to the players.

After killing enemies, completing tasks, and earning contribution points, they would repay it all, including interest.

Father Tina, Aying, and others were shocked to hear about this.

These people had to loan money to buy equipment to go to the battlefield and kill enemies, and they had no complaints.

No wonder they could become God Chosen.

Such loyalty was truly moving.

"Finally, there's a combat mission. Doing daily routines, moving corpses, and cleaning up every day is really enough."

Desert examined the laser gun he received, his face full of anticipation.

"So eager to be cannon fodder on the battlefield, we are truly too loyal to the Emperor."

Gabe, sitting opposite Desert, teased.

"Loyalty allows us to progress. How can we earn contribution points and exchange for equipment without loyalty?"

Qi Tingzhang interjected from the side.

At this moment, Alex's voice came from the loudspeakers embedded in the pillars and walls.

"Orbital bombardment has ended, prepare for airborne."

"For the Emperor, for glory!"

Little Fatty shouted, his voice coming from the loudspeaker of his exoskeleton armor.

"For the Emperor!"

"For the omnissiah!"

"For the Horde!"

"For Noxus!"

"For the Great Treasure!"

Other players also raised their arms and cheered, though their slogans were a bit strange.

"Take off, in the name of the God Emperor, get ready to kill, brothers!"

Blood Pigeon started the Valkyrie's engine, and a roar sounded.

The thrusters at the tail of the aircraft sprayed azure plasma.

The heavy deck was lowered, and transport craft and fighters slid out of the battleship along the runway, flying towards the magnificent planet.

Tyreen Hive City, the outer district had turned into ruins.

Many Cultists and Plague Zombies were blown to pieces.

Charred remains could be seen everywhere.

Klass, the rebel commander, crawled out of a collapsed house.

Looking at the charred, bomb-cratered battlefield, he was completely stunned.

"Quickly gather, the Emperor's minions will surely counterattack!"

He shouted to the surviving Cultists.

At this moment, the roar of engines came from the sky.

Several Valkyrie and transport craft appeared in the Cultists' sight.

Their machine guns swept the ground again.

Many Cultists who had just crawled out of the ruins were shot dead on the spot.

After annihilating the ground enemies, the transport craft roared as they landed.

Accompanied by the hiss of high-pressure gas, the hydraulic hatch opened.

Imperial soldiers in exoskeletons walked out.

Walking towards the ruins, clearing out the remaining Cultists.

"Praise the omnissiah!"

Little Fatty landed, controlling his Heavy Duty Tomorrow Type III exoskeleton armor.

Shouts, accompanied by loud war horns, echoed from the loudspeakers, resounding across the entire battlefield.
