Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

The university always used to feel old, but for some reason, it felt aware of me.

Ever since the day I opened Aurora's diary and read it, something has changed inside of me

It all began during the class in constitutional law

The Grumpy Professor was talking about Sovereignty, and the lights above suddenly began to flicker. The entire lecture hall went silent

Really silent

There was no sound of coughing or whispers among the classmates.

Every student was still their was were wide and the temperature dropped suddenly, and the room was filled with coldness.

The pendant in my throat burned.

I gasped sharply and felt a low hum vibrate through me. The paper began fluttering, and the windows began rattling

Lucian's head turned towards me; his expression was neither confused nor surprised, his expression was filled with concern

The lights turned back on. And the low hum vanished as the room was filled with students' murmurs, "What just happened?" Someone asked

"Guys, it's nothing to be sorry the power just went off," our Professor said as he continued with his lesson

But Lucian was still watching me.

When I was in the hallway, I saw a bunch of first-year students laughing until one of the students staggered back

"I can't breathe." She said softly

Before I could react, the air turned heavy again as if someone was pressing the walls from inside

Instinct took over me.

"Enough," I shouted

And the air, which was heavy, turned normal again.

The girl gasped and collapsed into her friend's arms as the corridor turned back to Normal. I saw cracks on the wall that formed on a pillar beside me

I stared at it

I swear I didn't touch anything. I am innocent

That night, I went to the University's most deserted side, the place I had sworn to avoid

But the moment I came inside, those whispers returned. This time, they did not sound threatening, but rather curious.

The walls began to shine faintly as the symbols I saw on the Aurora pendant began to appear.

My head began to ache, and I felt a presence right behind me

It was not dark or hostile, but it was ancient.

I felt a sensation of something kneeling beside me

"Why is it always me?" I whispered

The answer came from my mind as if someone else had taken control of it

"Because You are the descendant of the fallen warrior".

"Because your blood is the key to bring the fallen warrior back".

When I turned, I realized that I was not alone

Lucian was standing by the archway, his usual deadpan expression gone, just an expression filled with worry

"Those whispers..." He muttered

"Whose Whispers are those? Why are those Whispers just targeting me? I bet you know the answers, just tell me, Lucian!" I demanded

"That's better, you should not know, let the truth reveal itself!" He said

After he finished speaking, I felt something ancient stir underneath my foot as if answering to my blood
