In a plain biome near the forge of life, a great hunt was happening.
The hunter was a Seril, a serpentine creature with completely azure scales, normally 7 to 9 metres long and 2 metres wide, with pristine white horns on their heads that they use to ram their prey.
The prey in question was a bufl,resembling a buffalo , but with green fur and giant size.
The Bufl,was fleeing for his life in the plains, weaving left to right in order to save its life, while suffering from two bleeding wounds inflicted by the Seril due to a mistake.
Meanwhile, the Seril was hunting with relish, as such giant prey were hard to come by.
Just then, due to a momentary pain caused by bleeding, the Bufl tripped on a rock, crashing down on the ground, giving the opportunity to seril to ends its prey's life.
The seril would naturally not miss such a opportunity, it immediately charged forward, positioning it's horns to rupture to throat of its prey and grant a quick death.
Yet before it could even accelerate, its biological instincts started screaming wilding, as it perceived a danger so extreme, that it could not even process it.
Such dread was so great that the Seril actually managed to unlock wisdom due to how much in fear it was. Unfortunately, the wisdom could only be used to generate one thought before it met its end.
The thought being, 'Why do I feel so hot?'.
Above in the sky, Zeroth looked coldy at the charred remains of Seril, and the trembling Bufl, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
As the first wise being, who has roamed the world for countless millenia, Zeroth of course did not save the Bufl out of emotional considerations.
Zeroth knew about the survival of the fittest, and the balance between predator and prey, this he did not bother to save any single individual, only observing.
Yet this time was different, for the species named Bufl was experiencing an extinction event.
Now, although he still should not have interfered as extinction meant the species inability to survive, meaning the species was flawed.
Yet this event was different, as it happened due to another species. Not just any species, but one that had the potential to destroy the world.
The species was insic, or as Zeroth liked to call them, Lowly bugs.
Insic was a normal insect species, similar to ants, only about 5 times bigger and a more collective consciousness.
However, a few hundred years ago, they underwent a mutations, that greatly boosted their reproductive ability, the reason being a semi extinction event, a forest fire to be exact (wonder who caused that).
After that, it all snowballed, to support their constantly increasing population, the Insic started evolving towards eating anything biological.
Before Zeroth noticed them, they had already turned into a plague species (1), destroying several ecosystems in various areas.
As the first wise being, the supreme and eternal, and the King of the entire world, Zeroth felt that he should punish these 'traitor' subjects.
So that's precisely what he is going, towards the Insic species, saving some other species on the way from extinction.
After a few days, Zeroth arrived at the 'boundry' of Insic species, pretty noticible as what lay before him was an ocean of ant like insects eating everything and anything, leaving a barren wasteland.
The Insic also noticed Zeroth's arrival, and naturally attacked him to eat him. This went horribly as they were burned to a crisp by just being in 10 metre area around him.
Looking at these stupid insects that somehow managed to evolve into a plague species, Zeroth felt that they should atleast be given a chance to survive.
He raised his hand, palm upward, and a ball of golden flames appeared above it, hovering silently.
He hurled it at the Insic race. The Insic srambled away, yet the the flame seemed to have homing installed in it, as it latched on to them.
The moment it latched onto one member of the Insic species, it appeared on every one of them in existence, which number about 12 billion, as they had low numbers due to being a nascent plague race.
Yet instead of hurting them, the flame introduced a miraculous change. The hive will of the Insic species that originally worked on biological instincts gained wisdom.
Yes, the golden flames Zeroth hurled were the flames of wisdom, capable of granting eternal wisdom to any species it touched.
Before the hive will could even register that is could think, Zeroth spoke.
"Lowly bugs, you have good potential pleasing this King, yet your actions harm my domain, now I order you to reverse your evolution and become a normal race, in exchange you may be fortunate enough to turn into my slaves."
The hive will :- "????"
The hive will was confused, it did not understand why the being in front of him, despite being numerically disadvantaged, could issue such weird demands. Although it had certain control over its species evolution, it could only barely guide it , controlling it was impossible. Otherwise, it would not have its number be so low. (The hive will did not know that Zeroth granted it wisdom).
Zeroth looked at the unresponsive hive will and concluded that it was defying him, this should be exterminated. (In fact, Zeroth did not know that he was immensely powerful and talented, he felt that the hive will could freely control evolution, frankly he did not have any comparison to realise that he was just built different).
Zeroth again raised his hand, this time a blood red flame ball appeared which he hurled at the sky. After some time, Blood red meteors came from the sky, striking the Insic race and causing its extinction. The poor hive will could not even enjoy its wisdom for a few minutes before being annihlated.
Zeroth willed the blood red flames to extinguish and released green 'flames of life' to the barren wasteland caused by Insic hunger, restoring it to its orginal state.

1:- Plague species is a word developed by Zeroth, which refer to species who will eventually destroy the world if left unchecked. Humans do not belong to Plague species as they can control their actions. The Insic have a biological need and instinct to destroy the world, which they cannot control unless they choose death over survival, hence they are a plague species.
2:- the reason for Zeroth being so powerful, is because as the first wise being in the world, he enjoys certain blessings in the world. Another reason is that the world is extremely primitive, with the various laws being extremely weak or unstable, hence why species like Insic can partially control evolution and normal animals like Seril can just randomly gain wisdom.
3:- Zeroth believes that he is supreme and represents everything in the world, like destruction, life , wisdom and much more. As he is made of flames, he believes that flames also represent these things, allowing him to create flames of life, wisdom, destruction etc. the most terrifying thing is that this has become his sole rule. Meaning that even after much time, when the rules become stable, Zeroth would still control these concept level flames, the reason being that the world has been forced recognize the Zeroth is a rule like gravity. His flames can do these things, because the rules of the world says so.
The actual reason is that i just want to create a cool and powerful character lol.
