Chapter 16 - Boogers

[You have managed to move the heart of the God of Anime. You're the first person to accomplish this. You have been given the chance to take one of anything from the God's treasury.]

[You have been blessed with the title: Spoiled by the God of Anime.]

[Spoiled by the God of Anime] — You're now being spoiled by a god. Great news: you're immortal, and the fate of the world shall bend to your favor. So long as it's not truly impossible, you shall accomplish anything you want, the only limitation being how long it shall take. So long as the God of Anime exists, you shall instantly heal from all damage, be completely unkillable, and anyone who dares to wish harm upon you shall face the worst of calamities. So go out and do whatever you want. You're untouchable.

She looked at Zenryu in shock as he pulled away. She didn't care for what she got and just wanted to feel that warmth again. To feel safe in her elder brother's arms after so many years all by herself. But Zenryu disappeared before she could respond, unable to remain in this lower plane of existence even as an illusion.

Violet opened her eyes, finding herself back in the cold reality of the dungeon... but something was different. She looked down at the wooden leg she had painstakingly crafted, now lying discarded on the ground.

She didn't need it anymore—she had regrown a new leg, flesh and bone perfectly formed. She looked at her once missing arm, which had also regrown, now stronger than it had ever been before.

She had the Copy System before. It had allowed her to copy abilities, but with many frustrating limitations such as the grade of the ability and how much information she needed to have about it first... but now she had the Absolute Copy System, and all of those limitations were simply gone.

She looked at her palm in wonder and pushed herself up to stand, only to feel dizzy from yesterday's brutal battle. She had yet to recover from that fight. As she wished to regain her strength, a notification appeared before her.

[Your elder brother, the God of Anime, has given you an infinite energy supply to tap into.]

She instantly felt refreshed, back to 100% as if she had rested for weeks. She felt like she could fight for a hundred years straight without even running out of breath. Her eyes brightened with excitement at this discovery, and wanting to test the limits of what she could now do, she wasted no time experimenting. It was her brother's gift after all. To her joy, any ability she wanted, she received without question.

The power to instantly kill anyone she touched? She got the ability, and it even came with the control needed to avoid accidentally harming those she cared about. Wasting no time, she ran off into the depths of the dungeon, ready to clear this place and finally escape the hell she had been trapped in for over twenty years.

Elsewhere, Emma could be seen sitting before her window, looking off into the distance with a lost expression. She kept replaying the event that had taken place with her father over and over in her mind. That cold look he had given her... it hurt more than any wound she had ever received, and it only deepened the hatred she held for her mother. It was that bitch's fault. All of it.

Slowly, her head started to get lightheaded. She frowned and tried to stay awake, but in the end, exhaustion claimed her. She rested her head against the cool glass of the window and fell asleep in no time, finding herself transported to a vast grass field stretching endlessly in every direction.

She looked around in confusion and discovered Lisa was also here, looking equally bewildered by their surroundings. Emma glared at her sister, anger rising in her chest... well, she was more angry with herself than anything.

Had Lisa always been stronger than her this whole time? All those years, Lisa and her had sparred together... and now Emma realized Lisa must have been holding back, mocking her without saying a word. As part dragon, Emma's pride rivaled that of true dragons, so naturally this revelation wounded her deeply. It was something she couldn't easily forgive.

"Wow, the booger is always so hot-headed." Lisa suddenly froze upon hearing those words from behind them. Emma, on the other hand, exploded into rage at the familiar insult. But just as she was about to turn around and attack whoever had spoken, she froze as she recalled the only person who had ever called her a booger.

Booger... wasn't this something her dad used to call her? She recalled the many times she had jumped on him and hit him while he burst into laughter, never once getting angry with her. She never stopped attacking him until he started tickling her in retaliation, leaving her admitting defeat in no time as she gasped for air between giggles.

She recalled the many times they would go back and forth like that. Him calling her booger queen with that stupid grin on his face, while she desperately tried to find something equally embarrassing to call him, only to give up and resort to hitting him instead...

She turned around and saw Zenryu walking up to them with a casual stride. Tears filled her eyes at the sight of him, but she snapped back to reality when Lisa suddenly held out her hand. Her nanobots flowed from her body, forming a cannon that charged up with deadly energy, aimed directly at Zenryu.

"Who are you?" Lisa asked calmly, her voice cold and analytical. It was only then that Emma realized this might be an enemy using their connection to their father against them, exploiting their emotions to lower their guard.

The thought caused something inside her to snap, her draconic instincts screaming danger... but she and Lisa both froze as Zenryu appeared before them in an instant, moving faster than either of them could track.

"I became a god within two weeks. Try rivaling that," Zenryu said with a smug smirk while tapping both of their foreheads with his fingers. Then he disappeared completely, vanishing right when they were about to attack him, clearly aware they still didn't trust him fully.

Zenryu looked down from the higher plane at everyone he had just blessed. His whole family was accounted for now. His father, his mother, his three siblings, his wife, and his two children. Although not his son, as he still couldn't locate him no matter how hard he searched. Lastly, he had blessed his best friend, who had actually been trying to help Zenryu the whole time, while Zenryu mistakenly believed he was sleeping with his wife.

Honestly, his best friend was a fool who had suffered in silence. His best friend's own wife had been cheating on him for years, and he couldn't bring himself to come to Zenryu about it. He knew Zenryu would have told him to leave her immediately without looking back. But he wanted to save his marriage despite everything, so he went to Zenryu's wife for help and advice instead.

This led to him being drunk in her office at late hours, becoming a common occurrence. He would cry his eyes out about his failing marriage while Zenryu's wife grew increasingly annoyed at having to deal with him. She wanted to tell Zenryu what was really going on, but she had promised to keep her friend's struggles confidential, so she was forced to keep her mouth shut.

It was one of those nights when the incident happened. His best friend had stumbled in drunk again, going from talking about his marriage problems to rambling about some stupid grand plan he had come up with... and Zenryu's wife, who had made herself a cup of hot coffee to help her endure the torture of listening to him, only had it knocked over onto her lap.

She had delivered a hard slap across his face in anger and pain as she quickly tried to remove her coffee-soaked clothing before it burned her skin... that's exactly when Zenryu walked in. He saw his wife getting undressed, and his best friend, who had just been slapped, resting his head against the table from the combined headache of alcohol and the blow... it was all one massive, terrible mess of misunderstanding.

Then there was his son. For some reason he couldn't explain, he couldn't find his son anywhere. He knew his son was alive and doing well somewhere—he could sense that much—but his son's location simply wasn't appearing no matter how thoroughly he scanned the lower planes.

But he couldn't do anything more about it right now. Giving all of them those blessings had left him significantly weakened... reaching so deep below to the mortal realm wasn't an easy task, it turned out. But that was a problem for later. For now, he had to wait for them to reach the realm of the gods on their own, and while he waited, he planned to deal with the possible troubles that might arise.

"Zenryu, you just received a message from Yggdrasil." Jarvis said, causing Zenryu's eyebrow to raise as he looked at the message. His expression grew more serious as he read.

Yggdrasil explained that he was forcefully tapping into a level of power that allowed him to stand toe-to-toe against a God King, and even then, if he didn't go all out against a God King and those truly overpowered abilities, he would lose. If a God King willed it, the battle wouldn't even last a year—they could simply one-shot him even with everything he had at his disposal.

Zenryu had been looking down upon the God Kings this whole time. He hadn't fully comprehended just how overwhelmingly powerful they truly were, or how their ability to will things into existence actually functioned. Picture a normal human on Earth with no authority or power whatsoever.

Zenryu had assumed that a God King's power would increase at a high but measurable speed when they willed it. In truth, if they willed themselves stronger, they would instantly become powerful enough to fight on the level of their avatars—jumping from a normal baseline to divine might in an instant. And that was only if they didn't will themselves to become even more powerful beyond that... in other words, the speed and effect of whatever they willed was instant and absolute, with no buildup or delay.

Only another God King-level god could hope to fight another God King on even terms. Anything below them could be one-shotted instantly if a God King simply willed it to be so. Zenryu had been betting on his ability to evolve, adapt, and buy himself enough time to find a way to defeat them. He hoped he could undergo some transformation during the battle that would allow him to bridge the gap and defeat them... but according to Yggdrasil, that was essentially impossible.

In all of history, only one person had ever defeated a God King-level being while not being a God King themselves. Sun Wukong had forcefully bridged that impossible gap by possessing three things that no other gods could rival.

His immortality, his transformation capability, and lastly his cloning capability. These three strengths combined made him unstoppable. Wukong could transform into anything, even a perfect copy of Zeus himself, and use all of the copied god's abilities to some degree. Wukong could create countless copies of himself, each one as real and powerful as his true body, and everything the clones gained in battle, he gained as well at will. He was more immortal than even the primordials themselves. He had even played games with gods specifically to test who was more immortal, and he came out as the winner every single time.
