Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 A Dream Like This

Looking at the clothes scattered on the sofa…it actually had a rather decadent feel to it.

Sexy lingerie, black stockings…just lying there casually, still untouched.

If he'd seen them before, he might have been a little tempted, but at this moment, Chu Ge was completely devoid of any such thoughts. He silently gathered them up and threw them into the washing machine. He turned on the washing machine, listened to the machine's whirring, stood there lost in thought for a long time, finally shook his head, and went into his room to write.

But even though he had meticulously planned the plot beforehand, and previously typed at lightning speed, even while on the toilet, this time he felt incredibly stifled, unable to get into character.

As soon as he wrote the name "Qiu Wuji," her every smile and frown quickly surfaced in his mind, even the spot where she had punched him still throbbed faintly.

This was a real person, not a fictional character he could create at will.

Then he hesitated, wondering how much impact writing about her now would actually have? For example, even if Qiu Wuji and Chu Tiange's interactions are severed, normal dialogue and guidance between a sect leader and disciples are still necessary; otherwise, the protagonist's entry into the sect would be meaningless. So, if I were to write about Qiu Wuji instructing Chu Tiange now, could Qiu Wuji tell whether she intended to teach him herself or if it was something I wrote? If she realized it was me, would she still be willing to teach him?

My mind is in turmoil, making it really difficult to write. Fortunately, this part of the plot is indeed simple; after struggling for a long time, I managed to squeeze out two thousand words. Chu Ge had no heart for meticulous revision and hastily published it, completing his usual two-chapter-a-day task.

This is arguably the chapter I've written with the least feeling since the beginning of the book; I don't even know what I'm writing. Chu Ge didn't dare look at the comments. After hesitating for a moment, he opened the group chat.

The reader group, which he usually peeks into whenever he has free time, hasn't been opened for two days. He even feels like he's not a writer anymore.

Upon opening the page, he saw group members criticizing the new chapter, their reasons remarkably consistent:

"Short and weak."

"Short and weak."

"Only a few pages? I finished reading it before I even finished taking my pants off while on the toilet?"

Chu Ge: "...I'm revising the outline these past few days, so please bear with it."

"Hey, Chu-da's here? When is Qiu Wuji going to release it?"

"GKDGKD..."

"Speaking of which, Chu-da, these two chapters are getting better and better!"

Chu Ge: "?"

Are you sure? I clearly just wrote a hastily written chapter. The last chapter was almost entirely written while on the toilet, a chapter with a certain flavor.

Someone said, "I think Chu-da's writing in these two chapters is more delicate. He doesn't miss a single subtle expression of Qiu Wuji. Oh, and the clothing details are more detailed too. This wasn't something Chu-da was good at before, right? It feels like he wrote it to a real person."

"Yeah, Chu-da has improved." Chu Ge's hand hovered over the keyboard, paused for a long time, then withdrew, picked up the mouse, and posted a 2D erotic image.

The group chat instantly veered off-topic: "This is considered erotic? I could post a balloon and it'd be more erotic." The group began flooding with erotic images, completely burying the discussion about whether Chu Ge had improved.

Chu Ge, who had deliberately steered the conversation off-topic, leaned back in his chair, staring blankly at the chat, feeling a distant detachment. It was as if he were in a bustling flower hall, the noise palpable, yet it felt like another world.

…In the world of the book.

Qiu Wuji opened his eyes in the secret room, surrounded by the protective arrays and treasures prepared for his "tribulation." The treasures shone brightly, spiritual energy flowed, creating a stark contrast to Chu Ge's ordinary rented room.

It's like another world…

Qiu Wuji looked down at himself, still wearing the solemn sect leader's robes. What was he just wearing? It felt like a dream.

A dream indeed.

She sighed, stood up, and left the secret chamber.

"Sect Master, you've emerged from seclusion?" The core disciple guarding outside bowed respectfully. "Elder Zhou just reported that news has been received that a Azure Dragon may be shedding its scales in the Ten Thousand Serpent Cave, thousands of miles southwest. He said to report this immediately upon your emergence."

Qiu Wuji smiled. "I know."

This was supposed to be "Qiu Wuji speaking calmly," but Qiu Wuji subtly pursed his lips.

The disciple stared, momentarily lost in thought.

The Sect Master rarely smiled, and his smile was truly beautiful…

Qiu Wuji looked up at the moon in the sky, then rode away on its light. "Have them assemble in the council hall."

The disciple obeyed and left, glancing curiously at Qiu Wuji's departing figure in the sky as he went.

Why was the Sect Master pressing down on his robes while flying?

"I am aware of the Azure Dragon's molting," Qiu Wuji said to the elders in the council hall. "I am determined to obtain this item and must go there personally. Furthermore, the Ten Thousand Serpent Cave is full of mysteries; its outer layer is quite suitable for disciples to train. Since we are going, we should bring some disciples with us, perhaps some will have the opportunity."

An elder said, "Then we will go and select some disciples..."

"This matter was discovered by Chu Tiange in the Southern Border Market, wasn't it?" Qiu Wuji said. "This disciple has good fortune; we should bring him... I will also give him some extra guidance and rewards as a reward for this information. Go and summon him."

The elders exchanged bewildered glances. You just emerged from seclusion; how do you know it was Chu Tiange who discovered the clue?

Could it be that the Sect Master's divination abilities have reached such a level? The sect leader, who seemed to have no interest in divination, was becoming increasingly unfathomable…

Chu Tiange was summoned and cautiously entered the council hall surrounded by powerful figures, respectfully bowing, "Greetings, Sect Leader."

As he bowed, a strange feeling stirred within him.

He felt a murderous intent in the sect leader's gaze.

Perhaps it was just his imagination. Why would the sect leader want to kill him for no reason? If he truly wanted to, he would simply lie down and await death; there was no need to think about it. Hmm, the sect leader's expression had already turned amused; it seemed he was merely testing his resolve.

Qiu Wuji's gaze had indeed shifted from murderous intent to amusement.

She noticed that this Chu Tiange resembled Chu Ge somewhat. Of course, they resembled each other; it was originally a projection of Chu Ge himself, a character he had projected onto the protagonist. However, his descriptions couldn't completely adhere to his own template. For instance, he himself was quite handsome, but when writing about an ordinary person as the protagonist, Chu Tiange could only be described as "of ordinary appearance, but sunny and resolute."

Moreover, Chu Tiange is still a "young man," while Chu Ge is already twenty-seven or twenty-eight. These eyebrows are a carbon copy of Chu Ge's; he looks almost like a clone of him, or rather, his son?

That's right, he created him, the "Father God," so isn't he his son? Thinking of this, Qiu Wuji was secretly delighted. Strictly speaking, isn't Chu Ge now competing with his "son" for a woman?

This realization made her even forget the annoyance of being unwittingly paired up; instead, she wanted to laugh.

At the same time, she felt a little sorry for him.

You think you've worked your way up all this time?

"It's all written by people..." Qiu Wuji leaned back lazily, his right hand resting on the armrest of his chair, his forehead propped up. "Discovering clues about the Azure Dragon shedding its scales is a great service to our sect. Chu Tiange, what reward do you want from me?"

Chu Tiange hurriedly replied, "I dare not, this is what a disciple should do."

Qiu Wuji said lazily, "I grant you seven days to study on the third floor of the Scripture Pavilion, and you may choose any Xuan-level cultivation technique."

The elders were all somewhat moved. This reward was truly generous. At Chu Tiange's level, entering the second floor of the Scripture Pavilion would be good enough, and the reward would likely be a Huang-level technique. This was a direct promotion to the third floor, a Xuan-level technique...

Why was the sect leader suddenly being so generous?

Qiu Wuji secretly pursed his lips. Did he expect him to personally teach him? He'd just have to settle it with some compensation.

Right, he wrote the second floor. What changes would that bring? He could observe that.

"Furthermore..." Qiu Wuji thought for a moment, "Chu Tiange hasn't yet achieved the Great Abstinence from grains, right? Instruct the dining hall to give him an extra bowl of beef noodles today as encouragement. That's all for now. Everyone go back and prepare; we'll head to the Ten Thousand Serpent Cave in seven days." The elders: "?" Chu Tiange: "???" A smile reappeared on Qiu Wuji's lips.

That's all.
