ā° Resets Monday!
26.txt
Early the next morning, before dawn, Qianyu was awakened by a snake.
When the snake slithered onto his bed, Qianyu jolted awake.
What's more, the snake could speak human wordsāit was undoubtedly a summoning creature conjured by Orochimaru.
"Lord Qianyu, Lord Orochimaru is waiting for you."
This was the first time someoneāno, somethingāhad addressed him as "Lord." It felt strange.
When Qianyu arrived at Orochimaru's office, Orochimaru was already reading a ninjutsu scroll.
"Since you're up, let's begin. Follow me."
Orochimaru led Qianyu to the training ground in the underground base.
In the center of the training ground, Orochimaru summoned a large number of snakes.
He said to Qianyu, "We'll start with taijutsu training this morning. You cannot use Lightning Release chakra to enhance your body. Rely solely on your physical strength to hit as many snakes as possible within one minute. You stop only when I say so. Are you ready?"
Qianyu, still groggy from just waking up, felt caught off guard. This was too suddenāhe hadn't even eaten breakfast!
Taking a deep breath, Qianyu nodded. "I'm ready, Teacher Orochimaru."
"Then begin. Time starts now."
Qianyu dashed forward instantly, striking the snakes with his hands.
Every snake he hit vanished into smoke.
Orochimaru walked to the edge of the training ground, sat in a pre-prepared chair, and continued reading the ninjutsu scroll.
One minute passed quickly, and Qianyu felt it was still quite easy.
After all, it was only a minute.
Just as Qianyu was about to tell Orochimaru that the minute was up, Orochimaru, without looking up, said, "Continue."
Qianyu kept striking the snakes.
One minute passed, then another, and another.
Qianyu lost count of how many minutes had gone by.
And Orochimaru's response was always the same two words:
"Continue."
The snakes in the training ground had been replaced several times.
After a while, Qianyu stopped asking and simply started a new minute on his own.
At first, Qianyu felt relaxed, but as time went on, his body grew increasingly exhausted.
He had started training at five in the morning, and it was now almost ten o'clock.
The one-minute training sessions continued relentlessly.
Qianyu's movements slowed, his steps grew heavier, and he was bitten by snakes several times.
Fortunately, the snakes weren't venomousāotherwise, Qianyu would have died countless times over.
However, the first time he was bitten, Orochimaru allowed him to activate his Sharingan for training.
With the enhanced dynamic vision from the Sharingan, Qianyu found the training slightly easier.
But the Sharingan couldn't replenish his stamina, and the snakes remained just as fast. The brief respite soon gave way to renewed difficulty.
Since Qianyu stopped asking questions, Orochimaru had been engrossed in the ninjutsu scroll, seemingly forgetting about him, which left Qianyu feeling quite frustrated.
Distracted for a moment, Qianyu was bitten on the arm by a snake.
As he shook off the snake and prepared to start another minute, Orochimaru's voice rang out: "The taijutsu training ends here."
Qianyu had never found Orochimaru's hoarse voice so pleasant. He collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath.
The training seemed simpleāand indeed, it was simpleābut it tested precision, concentration, endurance, and speed to the extreme.
Especially the eyes.
Staring intently at the snakes' movements for so long left Qianyu's eyes sore and blurry, as if he were seeing double.
Orochimaru closed the scroll, stood up, and walked over to Qianyu.
He began explaining Qianyu's shortcomings: "Your issues are significant. Your speed and endurance rely entirely on Lightning Release chakra stimulating your body to enhance its activity.
Without the boost from Lightning Release chakra, you initially hit about 120 snakes per minuteāroughly two snakes per second. Compared to your peers, this speed is quite impressive. But for someone like you, who pursues speed, this efficiency is entirely inadequate.
As for your endurance, after an hour, your speed in hitting snakes dropped sharply. This means that in combat, your fighting ability would diminish significantly after an hour.
Your focus is barely passableāyou weren't bitten until about two hours in. However, your use of the Sharingan is poor.
Activating the Sharingan enhances your dynamic vision, so you shouldn't focus only on a few snakes in front of you as you did before. You need to make full use of your dynamic vision to anticipate the movements of more snakes around you and react proactively.
You rely too much on the enhancements from Lightning Release chakra. What you need to do now is work on improving your physical fitness. Once your physical abilities are enhanced, using Lightning Release chakra to activate your body will further boost your speed and endurance.
So, starting tomorrow morning, in addition to this training, we'll add strength exercises to your taijutsu regimen."
Qianyu listened attentively to Orochimaru's critique, accepting it all with humility.
At the same time, he felt a little disappointed.
He had always thought he was quite diligent and fairly talented, but in Orochimaru's eyes, he seemed lacking.
He needed to work even harderāmuch harder.
Gratefully, Qianyu said, "Thank you, Teacher Orochimaru. I'll do my best!"
Orochimaru nodded. "Let's eat first. Ninjutsu training begins this afternoon."
Qianyu followed Orochimaru out of the training ground.
To his surprise, Orochimaru personally cooked lunchāomelet rice.
The omelet rice drenched in sauce looked delicious, and after taking a bite, Qianyu found it truly was.
He couldn't help but feel impressed.
Orochimaru, however, was a true ninjutsu fanatic. Even while eating, he held a ninjutsu scroll, reading intently.
The afternoon ninjutsu training began.
It was no easier than the taijutsu trainingāif anything, it was even more demanding.
Since Qianyu only knew Thunder Breathing and no other ninjutsu, Orochimaru first taught him C-rank ninjutsu for Lightning, Fire, Water, and Earth releases, telling him to practice them.
Qianyu repeatedly exhausted his chakra practicing these techniques.
Once his chakra was depleted, he would refine more on the spot and continue training.
The time spent refining chakra was his only brief respite.
It wasn't until around six in the evening that Qianyu's training for the day finally ended.
After hastily eating dinner, he collapsed onto his bed, completely drained.
He had nothing left to give.
The morning had sapped his physical strength, and the afternoon had drained his chakra. The first day of training had been this grueling.
Thinking about the days ahead, Qianyu couldn't help but shudder.
