Chapter 2 - The Arrival

The James Villa was wrapped in chaos.

Suitcases lay open in almost every room, half-filled with clothes and carefully wrapped gifts meant for family and friends waiting in America. The house buzzed with excitement, urgency, and anticipation.

Sam James stood at the center of it all, supervising the housekeepers with an excited smile on her face. Every little detail mattered—after all, this trip wasn't just about business. It was about family, friendship, and memories waiting to be rekindled.

On the other hand, the younger daughter of the James family, Rose James, was busy celebrating her last day of college. With summer vacations starting from tomorrow, she was in high spirits, laughing with her friends and soaking in every moment of freedom.

Meanwhile, the remaining two members of the James family were buried under an endless workload.

Raj James and his daughter Sarah were working as if the world was about to end. Meetings after meetings, calls that never stopped, files piling up—both were determined to clear not just their current tasks, but future responsibilities as well before leaving for America.

For Sarah, this wasn't just work.

It was a test.

As the future heiress of the James Empire, she pushed herself relentlessly, determined to prove to her father—and to herself—that she was ready to lead. Since morning, she hadn't taken a proper break, yet exhaustion never touched her face. Instead, there was a quiet glow—one that came from passion, ambition, and purpose.

Their personal assistants rushed around, completing last-minute tasks of their own, knowing they would also be accompanying the family to America.

Finally, after one of the most hectic days of the month, the father-daughter duo headed back home, eager to see how the preparations were progressing.

When they arrived, they found Sam and Rose seated at the dining table, deep in conversation. Raj and Sarah exchanged tired smiles before heading to their rooms to freshen up.

Soon, the family gathered around the dining table for dinner.

"How was your day, dear?" Sam asked gently, looking at Sarah.

Sarah smiled, leaning back slightly."It was challenging," she admitted, "but I loved every minute of it. Today I truly learned what it feels like to handle an entire empire alone—and how Papa managed all of this for so many years."

A warm silence followed, filled with pride and unspoken emotions.

After a light conversation, the family finished dinner and retired to their rooms, knowing the next day would be long and exhausting.

Across the ocean, at the Gilbert Mansion, preparations were underway as well.

Krisha Gilbert moved tirelessly from one end of the mansion to the other, her excitement impossible to hide. This visit meant more than just welcoming guests—it carried a ray of hope she had been waiting for years.

She double-checked guest rooms, finalized the weekly menu with the chefs, and made detailed lists to ensure everything was flawless. The James family would be staying with them, and Krisha wanted nothing less than perfection.

By the end of the day, she was exhausted—but satisfied.

The long-awaited day finally arrived.

The James family left for the airport early, though Sarah remained glued to her phone, handling calls and reviewing documents even during the drive.

After forty-five minutes, they reached the airport.

"Is everything finalized, Milli?" Sarah asked her manager. "Did you review the deal with the Gilberts again? I don't want a single mistake. This deal is important—not just professionally, but personally. They're close family friends."

"Yes, ma'am," Milli replied confidently. "Everything is in order. I'll go through it once more during the flight. There won't be any errors from our side."

Eight hours later, the James family landed in America.

Outside the airport, a line of luxury cars awaited them.

Ben and Krisha Gilbert stood there with their younger son and daughter, smiling warmly as the James family approached. Hands were waved, hugs exchanged, and laughter filled the air as two families reunited after years.

Soon, they all headed toward the Gilbert residence—unaware that this reunion would change the course of their lives forever.
