Chapter 36 - Chapter 106 The Great Soul Arena, Bounty Issued

Lin Bai hadn't recovered from the battle, so he didn't forcefully suppress his soul power fluctuations. His strong and solid soul power rippled slightly, like a river's waves sweeping across the riverbank, its power astonishing.

"Such strong soul power fluctuations! Lin Bai, you've broken through!"

Oscar exclaimed in surprise, mixed with envy.

"Such a commotion! Are Soul Masters really that strong?"

Dai Mubai looked up and saw Soul Masters hundreds of meters away turning to look at them, proving it wasn't his imagination; Lin Bai's soul power fluctuations were indeed ridiculously strong.

Another day of envy and speechlessness.

"No way, you were just walking along, how did you suddenly break through? Is there no justice in this world?! God, open your eyes and look at me! I also want to break through so easily!"

Ma Hongjun sighed to the sky, his funny expression making everyone laugh. Combined with Ma Hongjun's sighing, it was even more comical.

"Just a coincidence, nothing more. Let's get into the arena."

Lin Bai casually brushed it off and led the way into the main arena.

The others followed. Tang San watched Lin Bai's retreating figure thoughtfully, his mind filled with even more questions.

Upon entering the main arena, the sweltering heat mixed with deafening cheers and screams created a fiery atmosphere that made everyone excited, wishing they could join in the cheering and fighting.

Flander led Lin Bai and the others to the service desk and knocked on the counter. "Register a few of them."

"Okay, please state your Soul Master level and class level."

The staff member took out a registration book and gestured for Lin Bai to begin.

"We need to ask about class level? Do you have a way to detect class level?"

  Lin Bai asked.

"No, no, no, you misunderstand. We're just registering the level so that the audience can easily distinguish the stronger and weaker members and place their bets. Otherwise, although class level is generally lower than Soul Power level, it still has a significant impact on combat power."

The staff member wasn't unfamiliar with this issue and explained patiently.

Lin Bai nodded and reported his Soul Master level and class level. Just as the staff had said, he was an exceptional case. His Soul Power had just broken through to level 35, but his class level had already reached level 38. If it weren't for the fact that he had two classes sharing experience, his class level would have exceeded his Soul Power level by ten levels.

The staff paused, then continued recording. Lin Bai's situation was rare, but not unheard of. After all, there are always geniuses who can do what others cannot. Class leveling up only requires killing monsters; to level up, just kill more monsters. Moreover, some Soul Masters have illustrious family backgrounds and can hire people to level up quickly.

However, the underground city is divided by talent, and the classes obtained are not all the same, which naturally has its reasons.

The worse the talent, the more experience an adventurer needs to level up later, sometimes even a hundred times more than adventurers of the same level, and special items and materials are needed to continue breaking through and reaching higher levels.

Although there are these limitations, it still provides a path for those with inferior talent, allowing them to catch up with other exceptionally talented adventurers.

Xiao Wu and the others also registered their levels. She and Zhu Zhuqing didn't have much to say; their class levels exceeded their Soul Power levels, which was proof of their extraordinary combat power.

Gu Yuena also announced her level: Soul Power level 28, Adventurer class level 30.

Lin Bai secretly curled his lip. The Soul Power level was somewhat believable, but the class level was definitely fake. Gu Yuena, who controlled the seven elements, was extremely skilled in wide-range moves, and her monster-killing efficiency far surpassed his own. Not to mention, she could stop the Porcupine Douluo; her level definitely couldn't be that low.

But even so, it was already quite exaggerated.

"Soul Power is the same as mine, Gu Yuena. How did you cultivate? When we met, weren't you just awakening your Martial Soul?"

Oscar looked puzzled. He was only at Soul Power level 28. Both of them had innate full Soul Power, so how could there be such a big difference?

"I don't know. I just persisted in cultivating every day, and that's how I reached this level."

After Gu Yuena finished speaking, Oscar became even more frustrated. Was he really not working hard enough?

Lin Bai interrupted them and asked the staff, "Where do you post missions and bounties?"

"Go straight ahead, and you'll see a wall with various signs hanging on it. That's it."

  "Okay, thank you."

Lin Bai thanked him and walked forward.

Oscar, abandoning his internal struggle, caught up and asked, "Lin Bai, are you going to post a bounty? They charge a handling fee for posting bounties here.

It's more cost-effective to buy them at the Dungeon Market." Lin Bai wasn't surprised. The Great Soul Arena wasn't doing charity; charging a fee was perfectly reasonable. "I need quite a lot of things. The Dungeon Market is too reliant on luck. I can save time with gold coins, so I'll spend more money to solve it."

"Alright, it's your gold coins anyway."

Seeing that he couldn't persuade Lin Bai, Oscar didn't insist. If it were him, he would definitely choose the more cost-effective method.

After walking for a minute, Lin Bai saw a brown, ten-meter-high wall not far away, standing abruptly at the entrance to the audience seating area. There were barbs on the wall, with many wooden signs hanging on them, with mission information or bounties written in small print.

There were two staff members at the corner of the wall. Lin Bai walked over and asked about the requirements for posting a bounty.

"According to the bounty, the Grand Soul Arena will take a certain handling fee. The higher the value of the bounty, the lower the handling fee. For example, for bounties over 100,000 gold coins, the Grand Soul Arena only takes a 1% handling fee, while for bounties over 50,000, it takes 3%, with a maximum of 10%."

"Of course, if you need the cooperation of Grand Soul Arenas in other cities, you will need to pay the corresponding transportation fees."

The staff member answered Lin Bai's question. Other details were posted on the wall for him to check.

Yu Xiaogang calculated his wealth. In the past two years, he had accumulated a considerable fortune by killing monsters. However, he had already spent a large portion of it on purchasing parchment scrolls, and parchment was only the lowest grade of high-end paper.

He stepped forward and asked the staff member, "Do you have paper made from soul beast hides?"

This was still a rudimentary trading center. Only the Grand Soul Arena had a catalog of items. To retrieve items, soul masters needed to go to another place in person or have them delivered.

The staff member, without checking the catalog, flashed a standard smile: "Dear guest, our Soul Arena's merchant guild covers everything, and soul beast products are a particular focus of our research. Which type of paper made from soul beast leather would you like?"

Lin Bai's hair stood on end; his keen senses detected a murderous aura. He flicked his mental energy, and Gu Yuena, noticing his warning, suppressed her anger, lowering her head slightly to conceal the killing intent in her eyes.

After considering for a moment, Yu Xiaogang said, "The cheapest types, ten sheets of each, please."

"Alright, that'll be six thousand gold soul coins in total. Please wait a moment; the animal hide paper will be delivered shortly,"

the staff member replied with a smile, picking up an ear-shaped walkie-talkie—equipment made by special secondary professions, allowing for close-range communication.

Lin Bai inwardly sighed; the style of Douluo Continent was becoming increasingly incomprehensible.

"I'm going to post a bounty to buy attribute materials dropped by BOSSes, unlimited times,"

Lin Bai declared, making a startling move with a large sum of money.

The staff member was somewhat surprised, but still maintained a polite smile: "Honorable guest, the items dropped by the BOSS are in high demand and extremely valuable. Your bounty requires a deposit of 10,000 gold coins, and you must leave enough gold coins for at least three transactions. If a guest agrees, the bounty can be activated immediately."

Lin Bai nodded. These conditions were as he expected. Although somewhat demanding, they weren't troublesome; money could solve everything.

  "Wait a minute,"

Flander pulled Lin Bai aside and said in a low voice, "You bought so many BOSS materials, are you going to take on a secondary profession?"

Lin Bai shook his head. He had to focus on comprehending attributes, cultivating soul power, and leveling up by killing monsters every day. Where would he find the extra energy to practice a secondary profession?

"I have other uses for it, I won't waste it."

Lin Bai took out his savings, 130,000 gold coins, and handed them all to the staff member for registration, keeping only a small amount for himself.

He wasn't worried about the Grand Soul Arena stealing his money. A decent Soul Arena match here would involve bets of five figures; they wouldn't be interested in his small sum.

Flander watched a pile of gold coins disappear. It wasn't his money, but he still felt a pang of heartache.
