Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In a spacious room, the man was tall. His board shoulders trapped down to hips meant for jeans.

His hard-muscled thighs told her he made his living on his feet. His hair looked as if it had been professionally cut, but the wind tousled it, causing thick, reddish- town strands to ride and retreat.

Hazard DeHaviland was a tall, handsome man with broad shoulders and a fit body. He was running on a treadmill, his black hair bouncing with each step. He had a silver earring pierced on his left ear. He was shirtless, and his sweaty body glisted in the morning light.

He stopped running and stepped off the treadmill, grabbing a towel to wipe his face. He was a powerful man, and everyone knew it. His cold, dark eyes seemed to see right through people, and his words could make you shiver.

He was every girls dream but hey.. he is the devil himself.

Soon, there was a knock on the door, Hazard slowly drifted his eyes to the door, still wiping his sweaty body, he knew who that was. His was silent.

His personal guard. He always bring his morning coffee.

The knock came again, Hazard started heading to his bathroom, without replying to the knock.

"Young master, your morning coffee." Vida said softly at the door, not to make him angry, or get on his nerve.

"Take it out." His mirthless voice came ringing on Vida's ears and he hurriedly left, he had a feeling of trepidation. What if he walked away and he needed the coffee?

Vida thought but later walked away when he didn't hear anything sound from inside.

Hazard walked into his bathroom, switching on the shower, he walked into the bathtub, the water felled on his hair down to his body, he pushed his hairs backwards and it gelled back neatly as he sunk into the bathtub.

Some minutes later, Hazard had towel around his waist, his tousled long hairs was damped, it gelled back. He walked to his closet, selecting some posh clothes and wore.

Hazard was the CEO of a top cooking school in the city, but he wasn't going to work today. He was dressed in casual clothes, with a pair of black sneakers on his feet.

His hands shoveled into his pockets, his well arranged neat clothes fitted his perfect body, he roamed his eyes around the well polished room. And opulent room.

Hazard walked into the dining room and saw the food on the table. He didn't like it and his face showed it. "Who cooked this?" he asked, his voice cold and angry.

His presence smacks of arrogancy.

The maids were scared. They didn't know what to say. Hazard looked at them, his eyes blazing with anger. He picked up the plates and threw them on the ground. The maids jumped back, scared.

"Clean this up and make something else," he said. "And you'll be punished later."

The maids quickly cleaned up the mess. They were worried about what would happen next.

"Vida? Get the car ready." He said heading out of the house.

"Such a dreadful snob." Gnarled one of the maids.

"Who knows what our punishment would be?" Another asked, her eyes was laced with fear.

"We have to prepare another meal before he returns and double the punishment."

Just then, a woman came into the room. It was Paula, Hazard's mother. "What happened here?" she asked.

The maids told her what had happened. Paula nodded and went to call Hazard. "Make sure the room is clean," she told the maids before she left.

The maids nodded and got back to work. They were relieved that Paula was there to help them.

HAYGREEN APARTMENT

Pispa was in the kitchen making a whole family meals, Mel walked in, grabbing the fried chicken and tossed one into her mouth. She was Pispa's younger sister.

"Why don't you help out in vegetables?"

"I hate vegetables" Mel replied with silly smiles.

"Sis, aren't you done yet?" Dulcie staggered into the kitchen weakly, his face was twitched into a deep frown. He was damned hungry.

"Get out, you foodie. Men doesn't get into kitchen." Mel snapped. He pouted at Mel as he gawped her her. Ignoring her.

"Pispa I'm so hungry." He turned at Pispa and she chuckled.

Mel and Dulcie were twins. Fighting to know who's oldest.

"Almost done. Get the plates ready."

"Okay." Dulcie smirked at Mel and she rolled her eyes. He selected plates, dropping it for Pispa to start dishing out some.

The family sat in circles at the dinning, eating their food, "Hope you are going to the academy today?" Shirin asked. That was Pispa's mother.

And average reddish hair woman, with a gap teeth, her angular feminine body fitted her.

"Yeah. Remember the food competition starts tomorrow." Pispa said drinking from the cup. The family wasn't rich but at least they can feed themselves.

"I trust you so much on this." Mel gave her a thumb up and she smiled.

"Dad, has gone out?" Dulcie asked staring around with the meat in his mouth but seemed his question was irritating, they ignored him.

"Mum is Dad out?" Mel persisted.

Shirin sighed "His boss needed him in the office.. well he wasn't able to fix his tye well." She chuckled.

Pispa chuckled softly "Really? I feel like hitting his boss.. Dad spend almost his life in that frigging office."

"Maybe we should work on team to attack him. I need to go on vacation but that unknown boss was making things worse." Mel huffed.

"Hurry up Pispa, so you won't be late." Shirin turned at Pispa. She nodded.

"Sis I want to visit your academy? I heard your boss is so handsome." Dulcie pouted.

"My boss is crazy at time and I wanna stay far away from him."

"I think he has crush on you." Mel interjected, scooping some honey into her mouth.

Pispa gawped at her with wryly smiles.

"Who told you that?" Dulcie hit Mel's should and she gasped.

"I caught him staring endearing at Sis." Mel shrugged.

"Hey. It is okay. Pispa eat up and get ready for classes." Shirin scolded. Mel curved her lips into a teasing smiles and Dulcie frowned.

The weather was chilly, Pispa wore trench coat and black pants, her sneaker was in whites as she walked out of the house to take a cab.

Soon, her phone rang, it was her boyfriend, August.

"Hey, baby," he said, his voice low and smooth. "What's up?"

Pispa smiled "I'm heading to school. Preparing for school already?" She replied.

"Yeah. I just wanna hear your voice, or maybe we should hang out at noon?" August said.

"Uh.. I will try to make out time.. you know we are preparing for the school practice."

"I will call you later." August said. He blew her an invisible kiss and Pispa blushed hanging up.

Pispa dropped back her phone, waiting at the bus station patiently. Her eyes always darted on her wrist watch.

Shortly, a car pulled to a stop in front of Pispa, she arched her brows wondering who that was. She was surprised to see her boss, when the car window was wined down. She frowned.

"Ms. Haygreen." The young man said smoothly, he was smiling charmily at Pispa who, anger was glinting in anger.

Her CEO, who had been making her life hell his constant flirtatious advances. She hated the way he looked at her, like she was a piece of meat, and she had made it clear she wasn't interested.

"Good morning. Mr. Wreker." Pispa said, her voice laced with rile.

"I'm sure you are heading for classes. Let's go together." His cheek curved into a curved smile. He had a dimple on his left cheek, a black earring pierced on his ear. His hair was plaited. He was on his twenties. His name? Ronnie.

"Sorry. I will like to take a cab." Pispa rejected, moving away from his car, Ronnie stepped down from the car, heading towards Pispa.

"Why? Do I make you uncomfortable?" He approached her and she scoffed shifting a little from him.

"Look, Mr. Wreker_ I really don't wanna be rude. I mustn't be in the same car with my boss. Period." Pispa brusque,

As she walked away from Ronnie, she nearly ran into a car, which had stopped abruptly in front of her. She hadn't noticed it, too caught up in her own thoughts, and the sudden jolt made her stumble.

The driver, a burly man with a stern expression, got out of the car and approached her. "What do you think you are doing?"

"I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking straight." Pispa panicked glaring at Ronnie who was staring at her remorsefully.

"You should be more careful next ti..." The driver was interrupted by a hoot from the sleek car.

"A minute" The driver said rushing out, Pispa stood at a corner watching Ronnie tried getting toward her but she rolled her eyes leaving.

"I'm sorry. Pispa." Ronnie mouthed, she scoffed heading out, the red signal had changed to green. She walked on the crosswalk not minding that the driver asked her to wait a little.

"Who is the wench? Why wasting much time on her, without making her pay for wasting my time?" Hazard voice was menacing.

"Uh.. sorry sir, I was checking if she was shocked."

Hazard chuckled darkly, looking up from the magazine in front of him. "Since when have you become remorseful? Get that widget. She dares to make me late."

Vida bowed rushing out, he met Pispa, she was already crossing the road.

"Excuse me, miss, Mr. Hazard wants to see you." The driver said.

Pispa cocked an inquisitive eyebrows. "Why?"

"He wants to apologise." Vida lied, he wanted to lure Pispa back to see Hazard.

Pispa's eyes widened in surprise, and she shook her head. "No, I'm not going anywhere with you. I don't want his apology, I'm running late for work already."

The driver's expression didn't change, but his voice took on a slightly more menacing tone. "I'm afraid Mr. Harzard doesn't take no for an answer, miss. Please, come with me."

Pispa's instincts screamed at her to run, but she stood her ground. "I said no, and I mean it. Leave me alone."

The driver's expression faltered for a moment, and he looked back at Harzard, who was watching the exchange with a cold, calculating gaze. Harzard's voice, low and smooth, carried across the distance. "Bring her to me. If you don't, you can consider himself fired."

The driver's eyes widened, and he turned back to Pispa, now, the signal had turned to red and the cars had started moving away, in the middle of the road, Vida chased Pispa, paving ways through the running cars.

Pispa doubled her pace, she had to run, Ronnie might punish her since she spoke rudely at him—next thing? She found herself sweeping off the ground and on someone's shoulders.

She didn't know that Vida was behind her.

"Hey. Get me down you asshole!" Pispa yelled on his shoulders as she tried to squirm free from his shoulders—she was hitting him continually.

Vida didn't care. He doesn't want to lose his job and he knew how heartless and callous, Hazard was. "I'm sorry Ms. I don't have any option than this." He was now heading back to Hazard car. People watched them keenly. Pispa felt humiliated.

"You will regret this." Pispa flared up.

"It was my Boss decision.. I don't want to lose my job." Vida said his voice was calm but was laced with panics.

Pispa didn't say anything, she bite her lower lips, expecting to see who the damned boss was.

Hazard stepped out from the car. He had a wicked smiles on his face when, he saw Pispa hung on Vida's shoulders, making his steps towards him.

Soon, His phone rang, it was his mother an he reluctantly, flipped his finger across, the screen of the phone, placing it on his left ear.

"Mother." His deep, husky voice sound.

"Where have you gone to this early morning?" Paula inquired.

"I left. I don't want to see those heaps of annoying maids. They prepared rubbish."

"When are you going to change? Those ladies were doing their best to make you happy but... You keep rejecting all." Paula complained bitterly.

"I will talk to you later." He said trying to hung up but Paula stopped her.

"Wait son... I mean.. what we discussed the other time? Are you going to look into it." Paula quivered, sometimes, her son scares her too.

"Of course I know this is absolutely where you are heading to. I made it clear that I'm so careless in that discussion.. guess it is the reason you heaped those ladies for me, I promise I will continue to frustrate them till they disppear into thin air." Hazard jibbed and hung up.

Hazard took his bottom lips, bitting it vengefully as he brushed back his hairs backwards in anger. "I don't want any of this. Why can't she understand?" He muttered.

The anger in their eyes grew, when he saw Vida and Pispa closer to him... He should have gotten to his destination if that girl hadn't disrupted them.

His fist had clutched tightly. Ready to punch Pispa. The anger in his eyes were blazing as he watched Pispa wringing on his shoulders.

His phone beeped again and he looked into it—That's was his friend. Callum. He accepted the call placing the phone on his ear.

A resounding slap, landed on Hazard cheek. He flinched. It stings. Of course Callum heard the sound. The sound echoing through the air.

"Hazard?" Callum voice was heard at the end of the phone. Angrily Hazard hung up immediately, feeling humiliated as he looked up to see the rat that slapped him.

Pispa's anger boiled over. "You think you can just order people around like that?" she spat, her eyes flashing with fury. "I'm not some toy you can just play with."

Harzard's expression was stunned, his eyes widening in surprise. For a moment, he just stared at her, his cheek reddening from the slap.

"You asked him to drag me roughly so he won't get fired?" Pispa flared up. Her hairs had trailed roughly on her face as she looked furious and lugubrious.

Vida muffled his mouth as he flinched at the sound of the slap.

No had dares to look him in the eyes not to talk of slapping? What the fuck had Pispa done?

"Look. I don't know you and I don't care who you are but have it in you thick skull that I'm not one of those you could mess with... And?" Pispa paused pushing her hairs in frustration.

"I don't need your freaking apology." She added, grabbing her purse which laid on the ground as she walked out sadly. Her sneaker thudding in Hazard ears as he watched her in astonishment.

Hazard scoffed...
