She opened her eyes on the fourth day.
Rei cried.

Not dramatically.
Just silently, like someone who didn't believe he was allowed to be happy.
"You look terrible," Mitsuki whispered.
Rei laughed, half-sobbing."So do you."
She smiled.
Her ears were still there.Her tail still moved.
But her body no longer twitched in pain.

So they ran.
