"Who's there?" The Vought Corporation department heads in the conference room exclaimed. On the 83rd floor of a building, over 300 meters high, how could there be someone outside? Is Spider-Man out there?

Thump, thump, thump.

The closed window of the conference room was knocked on from the outside. "May I come in?"

The old black man said, "Come in quickly, John!"

The window was lifted, and a person climbed in from outside.

He wore a dark blue bodysuit with the U.S. flag draped over his back.

"You might not have heard my name. I've given myself a title, Homelander. Isn't it great? This title wasn't easy to come up with; I was almost called Superman."

John, who was Homelander, closed the window behind him after coming in, like a well-mannered child.

"You!"

A middle-aged man couldn't help but stand up. If it were just someone climbing in from outside the building, he would at most be surprised, not so flustered. But now, Homelander wasn't standing by the window; he was hovering in the air next to the window, at the same height as their chairs, looking down at them like a deity.

Homelander looked at the standing middle-aged man and said in a calm tone, "I'm speaking now. If Mr. Nathan Mitchell has nothing to say, please sit down."

Creak. The middle-aged man plopped back into his chair. Homelander's aura and gaze were too terrifying, as if if he didn't follow his instructions, Homelander would fly over and crush his head.

Homelander showed a benevolent smile. "Alright, Mr. Edgar, please continue."

The old black man, Stan Edgar, laughed, "Homelander will be Vought Corporation's newest brand ambassador. He will open up a new development channel for the company: Vought Superheroes, much like Spider-Man, who hasn't appeared in a long time, and Tony Stark, who just announced his identity."

"Good!" The silent scene was broken by Homelander's applause, and everyone else followed suit.

"Alright, for now, Vought Superheroes only has Homelander. Homelander and I will continue to look for suitable candidates to join."

---

On the streets of New York, a daily scene unfolded once more: a modified van sped down the road, and faint Police sirens could be heard behind it.

This was a van of bank robbers who had just finished their heist. As they sped recklessly through the streets of New York, the Police sirens behind them grew fainter and fainter.

"Boss, after this score, where are you going to splurge?"

"The usual place. Of course, I'm going to the red-light district of Hells Kitchen to have a good time. I hear the new girl is especially hot."

The boss in the passenger seat was telling his subordinate about his extravagant plans when suddenly a blue Kuro descended from the sky, blocking the van's path.

"F**!" "Oh, sht!"

Homelander landed in front of the speeding van, showing no intention of dodging, letting the van crash into his body.

With a loud bang, Homelander didn't even move his feet, but the van was in bad shape. Its front was heavily dented into the body of the vehicle. The two robbers, who apparently didn't have the habit of wearing seatbelts, flew directly out of the front window. However, they didn't fall onto the road that would send them straight to hell; instead, Homelander caught them, one in each hand.

Homelander put his arms around the necks of the two robbers and whispered into their ears, "Guys, you were speeding, you know?"

The robbers didn't answer. It wasn't that they didn't want to speak; Homelander was choking them too tightly, and they were already getting dizzy from lack of breath.

"Looks like you don't want to say anything." Homelander flew up, threw the two men onto the roof of the van, and then his eyes turned red. Two beams of heat vision shot out from his eyes, not aiming at the two robbers, but hitting the van beneath them.

Under the cutting of the heat vision, the van was instantly sliced into two halves. The green U.S. dollars inside were exposed to the air, and due to the drastic change in air pressure, most of them were sucked out of the vehicle, scattering into every corner of the street.

The commotion here had already attracted many curious citizens, and now, with the natural blessing of U.S. dollars falling from the sky, even more curious citizens gathered, subtly surrounding the area.

Soon, Police cars caught up. Seeing this, Homelander again picked up the two robbers, who were so tormented they couldn't even scream, and threw them in front of the Police car.

Two Police officers got out of the Police car, looked at the robbers in front of the car, and then at Homelander, who was cosplaying Superman, and asked with confusion:

"Sir, what is this?"

Homelander produced a microphone from somewhere, holding a speaker in his other hand, and spoke like a star on stage:

"Fighting crime is a superhero's job. Remember, I am Homelander!"

After introducing his title, Homelander slowly squatted down, leaped lightly, and quickly flew into the air, then disappeared above the city with a sonic boom.

Homelander's goal had been achieved. What he wanted to do was to announce his arrival to the world. His next step was to quickly and efficiently complete several superhero crime-fighting incidents to build his reputation.

The news exploded again. The last time such explosive news appeared was a few days ago when Tony Stark high-profilely announced his identity as Iron Man. Unexpectedly, only a few days later, another superhero emerged out of nowhere, a metahuman calling himself Homelander.

"I saw Homelander with my own eyes! He must be Kryptonian. I saw him get hit by a high-speed car, which he wrecked without suffering any injury, and he can fly and shoot heat vision. That's a Kryptonian!"

"Homelander is so cool! Look at his muscular physique; he must be incredibly strong!"

Besides Iron Man, Homelander became another trending topic online.

At the same time, Vought Corporation, like Tony Stark, and even more decisively, announced the establishment of a superhero department, dedicated to fighting crime and promoting superheroes, directly professionalizing the superhero occupation.

Tony Stark was still in his lab perfecting his Mark series armor when he received a message alert from Jarvis.

"Sir, I think you really need to see this."

Tony Stark was stunned. He had told Jarvis not to notify him unless it was important. Was some lunatic trying to sabotage New York's power grid again?

"Project it onto the workbench."

"Yes, sir."

Jarvis controlled the holographic projection to switch content, and a news recording was played.

The screen showed a recording of Homelander intercepting the robbers' vehicle, cutting the van with heat vision, and then flying away.

"Jarvis, is Superman being remade again? But this Superman's image has changed a lot. He actually has the Stars and Stripes on his back. Is the screenwriter brain-dead? The last person dressed like that must have been Captain America during World War II."
