After breakfast, Lionel began to train his special abilities, which were the Entries that could raise his level.
The experience for the Entry—Human Engineering—had already reached 95, and he would be able to reach Lv2 in a few days.
After several days of trying, Lionel found that even if he did nothing but stay alive, he could still increase the level of the Entry—chi. However, the increase was minimal, not even one experience point per day.
Additionally, meditating and performing specific actions could accelerate the increase of chi experience, roughly 3 to 4 experience points every two days. Contact with objects possessing special energy was the fastest way to gain experience.
The Little Bone formed from dragon bone was an excellent experience booster. Holding the Little Bone for a few hours could increase one experience point, seemingly because Lionel was absorbing the Divine Dragon Power that emanated from the Little Bone.
"I wonder what effect this absorption has on the Little Bone?"
Lionel picked up the Black Cat Beast by the scruff of its neck, tossed him aside amidst his struggles, and then casually embraced the Little Bone.
Even if there was an effect, it was the Little Bone's problem. Besides, his main body was so massive that absorbing a little, even if it had an effect, wouldn't be a major issue.
With a thought, Armament Haki wrapped around Lionel's right hand. Then, following Lionel's will, the color of the Armament Haki turned black. Armament Haki itself had no color, but to train this ability, he made the Armament Haki black.
As Lionel's will changed, the Armament Haki covering his palm expanded, slowly extending towards his entire forearm. However, the Armament Haki only expanded to his elbow, unable to go further.
"This is the current limit."
The experience and level of the Armament Haki Entry affected the use of Armament Haki, currently manifesting in two aspects. One aspect was the degree of refinement of the Armament Haki; the higher the refinement, the greater the defense and enhancement of attacks. The other aspect was the control over Armament Haki. Currently, Lionel's Armament Haki could only cover the forearm of one hand, not even the entire arm, let alone covering a weapon to increase its attack power.
"Perhaps the experience of Armament Haki could be increased through external stimuli like striking, but I can't just injure myself with a knife, can I? I should find a reliable person to spar with. Matt? That probably won't work; his injury probably hasn't fully healed yet."
Lionel looked at the Little Bone in his arms; the texture wasn't very good, it was all bone and quite pokey:
"Little Bone, come and bite my hand slowly."
The Little Bone's eye sockets, without eyeballs, looked at Lionel. Two flames burned quietly. After staring for a few seconds, it seemed to understand Lionel's command, opened its dragon mouth, and gently bit Lionel's finger.
Lionel felt nothing on his finger, so he said, "Slowly increase the force."
The Little Bone glanced at him again and began to exert force.
A slight squeezing sensation came from his finger, and Lionel continued:
"Keep applying pressure. Only stop when I tell you to stop."
Hearing this, the Little Bone no longer held back its strength. It had been afraid of biting Lionel and hadn't used its full power, but since Lionel said so…
The Little Bone's upper and lower jaws exerted force. Being all bone and no muscle, it was unclear how he generated the force, but Lionel's finger began to feel a squeezing sensation.
The defense had increased a lot. The Little Bone's biting force could already crush a door panel, so it seemed the defense of Armament Haki was still quite good.
As the Little Bone's biting force continuously increased, Lionel's fingers began to feel pressure and a stinging pain.
"It's almost at its limit."
The black Armament Haki on Lionel's finger began to deform, about to give way, so he said to the Little Bone, "Alright, stop biting."
Hearing Lionel's command, the Little Bone released its mouth.
"Kid, are you looking for abuse? This King can bite you!" The Black Cat Beast was very proactive.
"Kuro, you'd better go chew on a bone over there!" The name Black Cat Beast was too unpleasant, so Lionel named the beast Kuro.
"Even if you beg this King, this King won't bite you!" The Black Cat Beast wagged his tail and walked away, seemingly going to Makima's side to be a fawning cat again.
Ignoring the impolite demon, Lionel said to the Little Bone, "Come and bite this hand!"
After some time, Lionel moved the Little Bone away from his arms. "I don't feel much improvement. I still need to find someone to spar with."
Putting aside the issue of Armament Haki for now, Lionel pondered an Entry he had obtained from Elektra.
Entry—Divine Summoning: You are a deity. You can establish connections with others through special means. Those who establish connections can request your bestowal at a certain cost.
The ability of the Divine Summoning Entry was very special. Lionel felt it was very similar to a demon's contract, where contractors gain a demon's power by paying a price. The difference was that Lionel's bestowal could be anything, even physical objects.
"The ability of this Entry has great potential!"
Lionel thought about where this Entry could be used, because the greatest special aspect of this Divine Summoning was that it could even bestow the abilities of Entries to the connected person.
The method of bestowal was not to give the Entry itself to the connected person, but rather it was as if Lionel used these Entries, and the connected person received these abilities, with the cost of use being borne by the receiver. Lionel was essentially an Entry ability transfer station.
"Perhaps the experience needed for those Entry upgrades can be increased using this ability."
Lionel had a good idea.
"Lionel, Lionel, I want to get stronger, and then beat that Black Cat up!"
A fluffy gray fur rubbed against Lionel's leg. It was Hakimi. One mountain cannot hold two tigers, and this was also fitting for Hakimi and Kuro. They had been at odds since they met. Although Kuro couldn't use powers beyond that of a cat, dealing with a Hakimi who could only speak was still very simple.
Since he could speak, Hakimi never put any animal in his eyes. The sudden appearance of a more powerful animal, and a cat at that, made him very unhappy.
"Getting stronger requires a price, Hakimi. Are you willing to pay the price?"
Hakimi's eyes widened, and his cat face showed an expression of disbelief. "Meow, Lionel, I thought with our relationship, we wouldn't need that. Just like the ability to speak that you gave me, just give me an ability to suppress that Kuro!"
Lionel said seriously, "That won't do. Any power must come with a price. How can you get it for free?"
"Meow! Price is price, I'm going to beat that Kuro down!" Hakimi shook his head, very determined.
Lionel held his chin, making a thoughtful expression: "Then let me think what you have. You seem to have nothing; everything you use is mine."
"Then what should I do?" Hakimi was a bit anxious. If he couldn't pay the price, he would only be suppressed by that annoying Black Cat and become his cat minion.
Lionel smiled: "You still have a price you can pay."
"What is it?" Hakimi was quite eager.
Lionel grinned mischievously: "You still have your future to pay with! For each time you use my ability, you won't be able to eat pizza for a week!"
Hakimi scratched his head and paced, walking several circles around Lionel's feet before stopping, his cat face showing an expression of giving something up.
"Alright, one use of the ability means no pizza for a week!"
