"The era of Slayers is over"
SFX: BOOM!!!
The skyscrapers lie in ruins, and in view came an utterly destroyed Seoul city. The red moon shone over this cursed view, reflecting a strange castle amidst this destructive abyss.
Footsteps echoed.
Through the gates of the castle came walking a figure draped in a black robe, beneath it was the white uniform of the slayers.
One eye burned with a violet glow, and in his hands, the swords shone in that crimson light. Appearing in the castle, his aura directly collided with a black aura that flowed from the throne.
Upon the throne sat a king. Long hair.A black kimono. His eyes—black, marked with a wheel-like sigil—locked onto the man.
"So you finally appeared?" the King muttered.
"The saviour of humanity, Lee Jaehyuk"
The king stared him down with those blac,k glowing eyes, contrasting in the crimson light from above.
"The era of slayers is not over," the man declared.
"All of the folks wearing that symbol are dead," the king responded.
The violet eye flared. Power erupted. The ground shattered, and the swords screamed as they awakened.
"Even if that's true," the man said, raising his blades, "I'll be the last slayer—and the one who ends you."
The steels collided like violet meteorites.
Seoul continued to burn outside. The blood-soaked streets and cold eyes of the dead slayers glowed in that crimson moonlight.
The story goes back in time...several years from this point

KITAN PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL
It was 10 years ago that a strange virus spread across the globe, transforming half of humanity into strange creatures called Shade. At first, they resemble humans; they even live amidst humans, but without human blood, they can't survive.
To stop the decimation of humanity by the shades, the South Korean government, following the example of the US goverment started an organisation.
It was called "Shade Slayer Union".
A government funded organization with several legions working under it. Legions are a group of slayers with captains. There are three main legions: the crimson eagle, the golden swords, and the blue emperors. Other than these, there are other smaller legions too.
The top-most rank of a slayer is S, and the lowest is F rank.
As rare as the existence of an S rank slayer, that much rare is also the existence of an F rank hunter.
"I guess you have understood all of these students, the teacher asked.
"Yes, ma'am," the class responded.
At that moment, a student stood up and asked a doubt...
"Is there anyone with an F rank in our country, ma'am?"
The teacher turned back and muttered a name. The students were surprised by hearing that. One of the students asked...
"Despite being the lowest, why is the man called Gu Weiyi still working as a slayer?"
The teacher, being a neighbour of Gu Weiyi, told the students about the man.
"My dear students...that man is working hard for money. Despite being the weakest, he works hard, gets hurt, but still, he refuses to give up"
"Without the will to see his loved ones leading a happy life, a man would never go to such extremes," the principal who came walking told the students.
The second-year high schoolers were intrigued by hearing that.
"I have seen the strongest slayer of our nation, but never the weakest one. I wonder what that man might be doing now?", he said.

SEOUL CITY, WARD 1A
A multitude of people stood around a slayer barricade. In the barricade, there was a strange logo of a blue fire.
The people who stood there started discussing the incident that happened in the ward. An officer of the legion took a loudspeaker and announced...
"To all the people present here, please stay behind the barricades, as D rank shade has been spotted here and has been claimed responsible for devouring a family of 3"
The people who got frightened by that announcement stepped back and thus approached a black car.
"Hey, they are here!! The blue flame legion!!", one of them shouted.
The car stopped right in front of them, and the doors opened. From the driver's seat appeared the unit leader Kang Sae. From the side appeared the slayer known as the "Madonna of slayers" - Tae Li.
The back doors opened, revealing two of the best C-rank hunters in the whole legion, Bu Sen and Ken Sui. They walked out.
But behind them came walking a man who had little to no presence. He had long hair and glasses. With that sleek body of his and a backpack, he was walking along with the rest of them.
The man became the topic of discussion for the people. One of them even loudly called out his name.
"Gu Weiyi!! The weakest slayer and the sweeper of this unit"
"Are you here to die, you fool!!," a young woman shouted.
"You are no match for these slayers, you lad!!", another woman shouted.
Gu Weiyi continued to walk along with them, although his morale was down, and his face was downcast. He brushed it off with a smile, but that smile didnt had a bit of happiness. It was all humiliation and inferiority.
They leapt over the barricade instantly and used their equipment to teleport instantly to the site where the shade was. However, the equipment only responded to people who possessed mana.
The rest of them disappeared into the thin air while Gu Weiyi started to run desperately, searching for the shade with the gadget he invented on his own.
"What is that trash doing?," the people shouted.
His watch-like gadget displayed a red symbol on the ward's map. It showed 500m away straight.
"Finally got it!!" Gu Weiyi muttered.
While Gu Weiyi was running, the other had already reached there. The shade stood in front of them.
"A shopkeeper, huh?," Kang Sae said.
"Yes captain, and he is smiling," said Tae Li.
The shade came walking to them, tearing open his back, and his nerves solidifying and enlarged with more blood forming his virexis. The shade organ is used for combat.
"Thanks for the food, the shade thanked with a diabolical laugh.
In an instant, the shade appeared right in front of the captain and swung his virexis. The red virexis approached him like a meteor.
SFX: SLASH!!
The virexis moved in the air, while the blood sprayed. The captain drew out his sword and slashed it. He did it again, and this time to the other one.
Kim Sui summoned his bow and arrow and fired an arrow at his forehead. The arrows drilled into the shade's head.
Tae Li summoned the golden chain and bound the shade to the road. Bu Sen stared right into the shade's eyes and hypnotised him.
Without wasting any time, the captain slashed off the shade's head. It fell on the ground, and blood pooled around it. As the job had finished, they began walking from there.
From the front came running Gu Weiyi, seeing his unit members, he was finally relaxed. He was on the verge of collapse, but still he kept running to do his job.
However, his legs gave out, and he was falling forward, going to hit his head on the road. At that moment, the captain appeared right beside him and held him, preventing him from falling to the ground.
"Oi!! Gu Weiyi, here are some energy bars!!"
Gu Weiyi lifted his head ,and there stood Kang Sae offering him energy bars. His energy was being replenished by Bu Sen, who stood there smiling at him. Tear rolled down Weiyi's eye,s and he whispered...
"Sorry for... for being like this"
SFX: SLAP!
Tae Li instantly slapped him on the face, she stood before him with a sorrowful face.
"Never consider yourself pathetic or inferior to anybody among us, said Tae Li.
The captain smiled and said something that struck Gu Weiyi...
"Weiyi...people like you are rarer than even S-rank slayers. Every S rank slayer believes on thier power, but people like you believe in themselves, not in any weapons or mana"
"Everyone...I can't thank you enough," said Weiyi.
"You don't have to thank us...just keep doing your job as the S rank sweeper of this unit", said Bu Sen.
The captain made Gu Weiyi stand straight and made him believe that he is capable slayer. Telling that they teleported back informing that the second car would be watiting for Weiyi after he as finished the sweeping work.
