Chapter 4 - The New World

[Is it possible to have hallucinations when a brain tumor is diagnosed?]

Skimming through the readers' comments, Su Mingyue noticed a pattern. Most people assumed that the nightmares were not a dream, but a consequence of the worsening of the disease.

And if that's the case, then his further location may be the nearest mental hospital.

By carefully reading articles and stories of people with the same disease. The young man discovered that he shouldn't trust it.

Opinions were divided on two fronts.

Someone argued that hallucinations, even if they were short and not quite logical, were quite possible.

Others went into complete denial, calling it absurd. Considering that a person is very afraid of death and eventually winds himself up inventing various conspiracies.

"Perhaps Dr. Chu might know something..." He thought after he tossed the laptop aside.

"Hello, is this for Dr. Chu? This is Su Mingyue, I was at your reception yesterday..."

Chu Qianying, who was on the other side of the phone call, was slightly surprised to hear the young man's voice. Ever since he left yesterday, his indifferent expression upon receiving the diagnosis was still fresh in the girl's mind.

"Hello, Mr. Su. Is something bothering you?" She replied in a soft voice.

"Do you think hallucinations can occur in my situation?"

"Hallucinations..." Chu Qianying murmured thoughtfully and said:

"Unlikely... Even if the tumor has advanced to a late stage, this is almost impossible. I'm a little busy today, but I'll try to clarify the information by tomorrow evening and let you know. Is it okay?"

"Thank you..." After a short pause, the girl heard Su Mingyue's slightly strained voice. Sensing that something was wrong, she asked worriedly:

"Mr. Su, why are you interested in the question of hallucinations? Are you all right?"

"It's okay. I just want to find out for the future. Thank you for agreeing to help and see you tomorrow!"

"Goodbye..."

Honk! Honk!

Before Chu Qianying could say goodbye to Su Mingyue, the phone call abruptly ended. It seemed that the young man did not want to talk to her anymore and immediately ended the conversation after answering.

"Is everything okay, then?" She thought suspiciously.

When she first saw Su Mingyue, Chu Qianying thought what a handsome man he was. But after getting to know him better, it became clear that he was a rather closed and indifferent person who, even after learning that he was dying, did not show a drop of emotion.

And based on this impression, would he call and ask about the hallucinations?

"Dr. Chu, you have a new patient..." Before the girl could get to the bottom of the truth, a sudden voice near the door distracted her.

"I'm coming!"

Not getting the desired answer, Su Mingyue sighed.

Dr. Chu wasn't his only hope, after all, he was used to relying only on himself.

The best way to calm down and get your thoughts in order has always been to read books or write your own novel. Reading and immersing yourself in the plot of someone else's book was definitely not the right option right now.

Lighting a cigarette again, the young man tried to remember every detail, every word and thought at that moment.

Soon, Su Mingyue uploaded the second and third chapters of the book to the publisher's website.

The clock showed midnight and he did not want to sleep at all, turning on a random movie, the young man sprawled comfortably on his bed.

The movie turned out to be boring and already in the middle, the eyes were slowly closing.

However, the pungent smell of mold hit Su Mingyue's nostrils. The hard, icy surface made him open his eyes in annoyance.

"Damn it, my head hurts. I feel like I have a bad hangover..." He muttered.

"Did I have a sandalwood ceiling?" The young man thought for a moment before quickly jumping to his feet. Looking around, he realized that he was in an unfamiliar room, which was painfully reminiscent of a familiar place in terms of layout and objects.

Without moving a millimeter, Su Mingyue carefully studied the empty room. The ancient interior looked like a terrifying cultivation world, with one bed and a bedside table covered with a thick layer of dust, clearly saying that no one lived in this place.

"The voice is identical to reality, maybe it's not a dream..." The young man lit up with a little hope. But when he noticed a small mirror on the wall and looked closely at the reflection, he froze.

Su Mingyue saw a young man about twenty years old, his pronounced purple eyes and jade-like face made any man feel ashamed of his own appearance, and a girl blush with embarrassment.

He was wearing a black robe with an embroidered pattern resembling two blades crossed with each other. He long, black hair was tied up in a small ponytail, and her expression resembled helplessness. His sense of smell, sight, hearing, touch, and certainly taste worked perfectly and were no different from real life.

Just as Su Mingyue was getting frustrated, hundreds of fragments of memories flashed before his eyes. Excerpts, scenes, and even dialogues flashed through like an accelerated movie.

Sitting down on the floor, the young man did not hide the frown on his face and he looked confused.

"I guess I should be glad that this isn't another dream in which I'm being brutally murdered..." He sighed.

After assimilating with his memories, Su Mingyue found out that the person he was in had the same name. And until recently, he was an ordinary mortal man who made a living from creativity.

To put it simply, he was a poet wandering the Eastern Region.

Writing poetry and seducing rich ladies was his only goal.

Without relatives or friends, he reveled in loneliness.

It seemed that this way of life would continue until death.

But, fate thought quite differently.

Thanks to a ridiculous accident that happened a few days ago, all his plans went downhill.

In a world where immortals coexisted with mortals, one awkward encounter could completely change a life.

That's what happened to the young man.

Finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, he somehow met a helpless old man and out of the goodness of his heart decided to do a little favor.

Later, it turned out that the old man was not a beggar at all, but an old monster from a powerful sect in the Eastern Region. Instead of thanking him, the old man forcibly grabbed the confused young man and brought him to his sect, allowing him to become an ordinary, external disciple.

For someone, such an opportunity could be considered a gift from heaven, but neither this young man nor Su Mingyue himself did not think so. The world of cultivators is very cruel, without talent or strength behind them, everything can happen in the end...

Death!

After receiving a set of clothes and an external student's nameplate with his own initials, the young man stupidly sat in a small house for three days, afraid to go outside.

"So if this is a dream, do I have to die to wake up?"
