Chapter 4 - Hail the Heavenly Demon

The Fourth Lady, after hours of waiting, was now happy. She didn't say it herself, but her eyes spoke for her. She now awaited the inherent right of her children.

The children, who were in their mother's arms, slightly raised their heads. This was their first inherent act as infants, and their eyes were quietly becoming moist.

A man approached like a floating black shadow, and the candlelight extinguished in his dark robe. The breath of the children caught in their throats.

A presence as powerful as that of a man who should now have a wound from his forehead to his chin.

The man took one more step, and in the faint moonlight, his black eyes turned into crimson glass, and his ghost-like gaze became that of a happy man.

The children had one thought in their heads:

"Either this world is not natural, or this man is not natural."

The Heavenly Demon began to speak gravely:

"Today is a blessed day for me and the sect."

"I thank you."

"Do you wish to choose names and have me approve them, or do you want to name the children after my ancestors?"

The Fourth Lady sat up as straight as she could to show respect to her husband. The children looked at their father, and the father looked at the children.

"A name given by a father himself is best. This way, we and the children will always share something in common."

The Heavenly Demon paused for a moment. He raised his hand, the window opened, and under the moonlight, he watched his wife and children. He stared into the infants' eyes, whispered names, and left with slow steps and a breath softer than before.

The midwife did not know if she could enter the room or not, so she remained standing. The guards remained on the floor; they did not know what to do, so they stayed that way for a while. In the silence of the night, only a whisper could be heard:

"Long live the Heavenly Demon."
