Cherreads

Chapter 10 - Found. Forgiven. Forever.

The soft rustle of satin echoed through the room as Raina adjusted the final piece of her gown. In the mirror, she barely recognized herself — not because of the dress or makeup, but because of the peace in her eyes.

Peace she'd fought for.

Love she'd rediscovered.

Family she never thought she'd have.

Behind her, Liam peeked into the room in his little tuxedo, holding a tiny velvet box.

"Mama," he whispered, "you look like a queen."

She turned, smiling. "And you, my love, are the most handsome prince."

He beamed, puffing out his chest. "Daddy's nervous. He kept checking his hair in the mirror."

Raina laughed softly. "Let's not keep him waiting then."

The garden ceremony glowed in the late afternoon sun. String lights swayed gently above, and soft music played as the guests took their seats. It wasn't a grand affair, but it was perfect — intimate, meaningful, theirs.

Cassian stood beneath the floral archway, heart pounding. He'd spoken at boardrooms across continents, closed billion-dollar deals without blinking — but this? Waiting for her?

This made his knees weak.

Then he saw her.

Raina stepped into the aisle, her hand resting lightly on Liam's shoulder. The crowd faded. The music melted. It was just her. Just them.

When they reached him, Liam passed Cassian the ring box and whispered, "You're not allowed to cry."

Cassian smiled, voice rough. "Too late, kid."

Their vows weren't rehearsed. They spoke from the heart.

"Cassian," Raina began, her voice steady despite the lump in her throat, "we were never perfect. We were scared, broken, stubborn. But through all the chaos, I never stopped hoping you'd come back… and you did — not just for me, but for Liam, and for yourself. You've shown me what forgiveness looks like. What real love feels like."

She paused, eyes brimming. "So today, I don't promise a perfect life. I promise partnership, patience, and choosing us, every single day."

Cassian took her hand, his voice low and raw.

"Raina, you were my greatest risk — and my greatest reward. You loved me when I didn't deserve it, believed in me when I lost my way. I built empires trying to prove I was enough, and still, none of it compared to the moment you said yes to me."

He stepped closer. "So I vow to never let pride speak louder than love. To father our son with presence. To grow with you — not away from you. You are my home. And I'm never walking out again."

Liam handed them the rings, and as Cassian slid the gold band onto her finger, Raina smiled through her tears.

The officiant nodded. "You may kiss your bride."

Cassian didn't hesitate. He pulled her close, kissed her with reverence, with gratitude, with years of healing wrapped into a single moment.

The garden erupted in applause. Liam cheered, jumping up and down. "We did it!"

The reception was small — laughter, music, and the warm flicker of candles on every table. Cassian danced with Raina beneath the stars, her head on his chest.

"You know," she whispered, "you never told me the baby's name."

He grinned. "I was waiting for today."

She raised an eyebrow.

He leaned down, whispering into her ear, "Hope."

Raina stilled. Her eyes filled again. "Hope," she repeated, like a prayer. "It's perfect."

"Because she is," he said, hand resting on her growing belly.

Liam crashed into them mid-dance. "Can I dance too?"

Cassian lifted him up, balancing him between them. "Always, kiddo."

And they danced. A family. Imperfect. Forged through fire. But whole.

Months later…

The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beep of the monitor and the soft, newborn cry that filled the space like music.

Cassian cradled the tiny bundle in his arms, staring down in awe.

Raina, exhausted but smiling, watched him from the bed.

"She has your eyes," he whispered.

"She has your temper," Raina teased.

Cassian chuckled. "She's perfect."

Liam stepped closer, peering over the bed.

"Can I hold her?"

Cassian nodded, gently helping him support his baby sister.

"What's her name again?" Liam asked.

"Hope," Raina said softly.

"Why Hope?"

Cassian met Raina's eyes. "Because after everything, that's what brought us back."

That evening, Cassian stood by the nursery window, watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of gold and rose. Raina joined him, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"You think we'll get it right this time?" she asked.

He looked at her, kissed her forehead. "We already are."

He turned to the crib, where Hope lay sleeping and Liam sat reading nearby.

"This… This is everything," he said.

Raina nodded. "Our family. Found. Forgiven. Forever."

They stood in silence, hearts full, surrounded by the kind of love that doesn't need words.

And somewhere in the quiet — in between the pages of their past and the promises of tomorrow — a new chapter had already begun.
