Alex paused for a moment, very quickly understanding Glen's implication.
If his identity were exposed right now, this case could end immediately in the way the Church desired.
If the murders stopped here, without even needing a trial, the heretic - the culprit - would have been destroyed on the spot. And if the murders didn't end, then Glen would be framed as an accomplice to the killer, or someone paving the way for demons.
Either way, Glen was definitely dead, with no way out.
"Since you aren't a spy, why work here? And risk your life like this?"
Alex stared intently at him, his eyes full of suspicion.
"Even infiltrating the special action department, a place gathering your nemeses. You should be like those office clerks who signed confidentiality agreements, normal employees, not an Extraordinary person wielding the power of Darkness, walking on the edge of a blade every day."
