Hello dear readers, this is Kotario.
To my old Guild Wars readers, I welcome you back for a revamped journey that you're familiar with, one that has been twisted in ways you always wished for, but even better.
To my new readers trying this for the first time, welcome and strap yourselves in for the ride!
Guild Wars was a hit novel that took on the challenge of capturing the general feeling that RSSG brought to the webnovel reader base at the time and fixing the issues that plagued that story from being perfect. However, in trying to fix those problems — which it did — new problems cropped up in the handling of the plot, plot development, and especially lore and info dumping.
It is the eternal conundrum of LitRPG. You are writing a novel with stats and numbers that dictate the growth of the character and the flow of battle, but just how much of it should you show, and how much of it should be left to the imagination?
Whether it's traditional novels on Kindle and RR or webnovels here on WN, LitRPG novels are always lambasted by fans of the genre who love numbers and sheets when there are too few of them, and also criticized by fans of the genre who prefer minimal stats and sheets when there are too many.
To find the sweet spot, I have taken years of writing professionally and reading other similar novels, while factoring in reader responses, to discover the perfect balance of both, as presented in my other ongoing novel, Infinite Slaughter System.
This novel is a soft reboot of the original Guild Wars, because readers who persisted with it — and even some who dropped it — messaged me that it would be better to simply restart with a more coherent plot and script, while eliminating the things that caused its quality to drop as the chapter count increased. After much planning, I have come to you with this iteration of Guild Wars.
This is a novel I can confidently say will please old readers while giving new readers something to enjoy. You don't need to have read the original novel to enjoy this, because my old readers are well-versed in the lore and will often help by explaining referenced events or items in the paragraph comments.
My near decade-long writing experience across different platforms has culminated in this, especially the half decade I spent writing the original. So right from the bat, we are starting with an outline, a concrete plan, and explosive content that will keep you hooked and theory-crafting for days on end.
But enough boasting — why not jump in and see for yourself?
