Chapter 5 - A Devoted Man (Part 2 WIP)

"I want to go." I said, once more looking for an exit that did not exist.

"You can leave." She said, I turned to look at her, "once you've met him and taken what you've wanted."

I shut my eyes, clenched my jaws. "I don't want to meet anyone. Just get me out of here."

"I told you, only you can do that."

I sighed, feeling tight in the chest and began thinking – of the ways to get out there.

If I couldn't get out of that place unless I wanted to it meant — "I'll meet the guy. But how do I trust that you'll not harm me?"

She smiled, "as I said, I would've by now. If I wanted to."

Next thing I knew, I was standing in an elevator, staring at her with fuming eyes. "You will not regret this choice." She said, pressed onto the elevator button and the elevator began going up.

I might have made a grave mistake by picking up that rose or by standing in that elevator, or by not fighting enough to get out of that hotel. I should have looked around, I should have run or I should just hold her hostage. My mind rushed, my eyes soulless.

Ping. The sound snapped me out. I closed my eyes, inhaled sharply, opening my eyes as the elevator doors opened.

Just the echo of my heaving chest.

An empty and quiet corridor was before my eyes, with the scarlet walls. It was scattered further than my eyes could reach scarlet walls, molded at the edges with gold.

I stepped out, on the carmine carpet, and began walking under the illuminating golden wall lamps. As I began walking, I saw the paintings on the walls and at the golden refinements at the borders of the walls, glistening.

I continued walking, my chest shrinking in and out, room number 409 appeared. I glanced at it from the corner of my eye, licked my dry lips, room number 501 appeared.

The shrinking feeling grew deeper in my ribs, room number 502. My legs suddenly lost their strength, I felt tightness all over my body – I was standing before room number 503.

"Knock three times to let him know it's you. He'd be delighted to finally see you there." The woman had suggested.

I clenched my fist, gulped down, staring at those enormous doors and hesitantly — knock …. Knock …. Knock.

Silence.

Then I looked at the keycard in my hand and swiped it on the lockpad. Beep. Beep Beep.

I twisted the door knob, with a cold crawling feeling up to my neck. The doors opened with a loud creaking sound. Dark and quiet.

The room glistened under dull red lights on the ceiling. Nothing was clearly visible, apart from the large glass windows right in front of me, curtains draped on it, the bed in the center of the room, and — a dark muscular figure sitting at the bed bench.

I clutched my bag tightly, the rose with it. He suddenly stood up, my throat went bone dry.

"You're late." He said, his tone husky yet tender and walked towards me, his red shirt, and wavy hair slightly visible.

I said nothing just stared at him, he was coming closer and closer to me, big.

***

It's totally raw, slightly edited in physicality of the story, nothing else. I hope you liked it.
