Chapter 14 - Chapter Fourteen

Lucian's POV

"What the hell was the meaning of that?" I growled at Draven, this close to punching him.

Even my wolf was agitated, clearly against my brother for once.

Since our birth, the three of us have been inseparable. Sure we argued, we fought, but I have never felt this pressing need to hit Draven like this before.

Draven clicked his tongue, unfazed by my anger.

In fact, the bastard rolled his eyes at me. "What do you mean? I have no idea what you are talking about, so you have to be specific."

My wolf wrestled with me monetarily, fighting for the little control I had of him.

For a moment I considered letting it happen, but I stopped myself.

I took a deep breath, calming myself. My eyes flickering as my wolf pressed to the surface.

"I told you." I breathed, glaring at him. "We can't break her."

Draven scoffed, giving me a signature fold of his arms. "And I thought we all agreed we wouldn't catch feelings for the bitch."

"I am not catching feelings. If Kael were here, then he too would understand what I am saying." I snarled, but like always, Draven was unbothered.

"Keal would understand nothing." He bit back, an equal snarl escaping him. "And you know why? Because he uses his head, sticks to his words, and doesn't think with his dick!"

My wolf and I reacted at the same time, as a flicker of pain shot in my heart, but it was so light, I couldn't understand it.

Then it vanished, leaving in place an unmistakable anger.

"Say that again." My nose flared, as I squared my chest. "I dare you."

Being of equal height, Draven matched me, bringing our chest together, his wolf surfacing, as his eyes flashed a deep red.

"Enough! Both of you!" Kael's voice sounded from the side, but none of us were willing to back down.

I could feel Kael's presence beside us, the silent pressure his wildness gave out, causing me to almost yield.

"Are you both deaf?!" Kael roared, the pressure coming off his body, heavier than the last, making it hard to keep up.

"It's his fault." Draven growled, his breath hitting my face.

"I don't care whose fault it is." Kael's voice dropped. Hard. "I said enough."

The pressure increased, and without warning, I felt my knees buckle.

Even my wolf let out a whimper, a horrible sound I refuse to admit.

Draven and I crashed to the floor on our knees, both of us panthing hard, and glaring at our brother.

"Did you have to do that?" Draven scowled, his identical face squeezing the same as mine.

"I did, and I will, the very next time you decide not to listen to me." Keal said calmly.

Despite being triplets, one thing I hated was the fact that Kael had the upper hand over us. Just because he was the oldest, by a few seconds didn't give the moon goddess the right to make him able to have this much control over us, but she did anyway.

Fucking traitor.

It wasn't enough that she already cursed us, and even gave us an omega for a mate, she had the galls to give Kael this.

"Care to explain what the meaning of this is?" Kael implored, with a look of 'knowing it all' in his eyes.

It irked me so much, I said nothing.

"You can ask your fuck face of a brother." Draven spat at me, and I growled again.

"Don't test me Draven." I snarled, then added. "My face isn't anywhere near as ugly as yours."

Kael sighed, probably tired of our squabbles. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "If you haven't noticed dimwits, we all share the same look."

At that, we both kept quiet, glaring at each other.

Sweat clung to my skin, as I kneeled, my body too weak to even move, but I knew that was more Kael's fault for not releasing us from whatever voodoo he casted on us.

"Let me ask again." Kael repeated, this time, his expression turning serious. "What the fuck is the meaning of this idiocy you two displayed? Do you have any idea what would have happened if the maids or the councils got wind of you two fighting?"

He growled at the end, and this time, we finally took in the gravity of our actions.

Luckily I had pulled Draven to our quarters before that, but it was still risky.

The councils were nosy. One word, and it could be the end of us. We were already rumored to be ruthless killers. Who knew what tags would be added next before they used the opportunity to steal the throne from us.

"It's all Lucian's fault for fucking that bitch, and getting angry because I called him out for it." Draven said, eyeing me with distaste, and it took all in me to stop myself from lunging at him.

I caught a flicker that crossed in Kael's eyes, as he looked at me.

"You slept with her already?"

I had no idea if that was supposed to be a question. Before I could answer, though, Draven beat me to it.

"Sleeping is a light word brother." He looked smugly at me, a smirk playing at the edge of his lip. "It's more or less fucking. In the middle of a hallway. If that isn't a bitch, then what is?"

I narrowed my eyes at Draven, clenching my fists to keep my emotions in check.

However, my wolf and I were seething inside.

"That's enough Draven." Kael finally spoke. "Although she's our slave, we still have to respect her."

"Why? It's not like we need her opinion or anything. You already made that clear to her."

"We did." Kael faintly nodded. "Yes, but remember without her, we'll go on a rampage. We don't want to break her. You can use her as you please, but she also needs maintenance. Are we clear on this Draven?"

"Yes." Draven reluctantly agreed.

Kael released the pressure that he had on us, and immediately I felt my body belong to me.

"Never do that shit again." Draven warned, getting to his feet as I did.

"If you both promise to grow some sense," Kael paused, his eyes glinting with faint mischief— an action so rare even for the two of us. "Then I will."

Draven and I both growled at him, but Kael was already moving out of the room, his expression going back to normal.

"See you both in the office."

We watched the door close behind him, Draven and I glaring at each other, before parting.

Once alone, I closed my eyes, feeling my wolf stir in my head.

Draven's words from earlier are now hitting me.

He was right. That omega was only a sex slave. I shouldn't have any sympathy for her.

With the way she let me fuck her in the hallway, I am sure any man could do the same.

Fuck the mate bond. A bitch was a bitch, and it was best not to think otherwise.
