Nora was sent flying backward at great speed.
Her body bounced several times against the ground and went through several trees.
However, she didn't feel any pain, her orgone was protecting her from the impacts after all.
Nora got up, gripping Lævateinn tightly between her hands.
The wood of the blade crackled, as if it were trying to say something.
Nora's flame had also ignited, no matter how many opponents she faced, she would never give up.
"Alu! I'll handle this villain! You go rescue Ruth!" Nora exclaimed as she got up and bent her knees.
Alioth clicked his tongue, annoyed.
'I still can't get used to him calling me that.'
"Alright, don't take too long," the boy responded, he trusted Nora's abilities quite a bit.
She had already defeated the other one that had been turned, and she seemed very confident in herself.
Alioth wasn't going to doubt her.
"Hey kid, what's your name?" the silver-haired boy asked Eirian.
The boy with fire-colored hair averted his gaze slightly.
"My name is Eirian, and don't call me kid, we're the same age," the boy complained.
The golden and silver mosaics that covered him started to fade, the miracle's effect had likely worn off.
"Nice to meet you, Eirian, I'm Alioth," the boy responded, ignoring his comment.
If only he knew that Alioth was older than he looked.
However, the fire-haired boy raised an eyebrow.
He was slightly confused.
Names that started with vowels were reserved for nobles.
However, Alioth didn't seem like a noble, he used spirit magic instead of a Devastra or heka.
Perhaps he hadn't awakened a Devastra yet?
If that were the case, it would mean he had almost lost to a younger boy who hadn't even awakened yet.
"So, will you lead the way?" Alioth asked.
The spirits of the night pulsed with silver light as they absorbed the residual ka.
It was as if the stars had descended to the earth to illuminate the darkness.
"Yes," Eirian nodded as he agreed. "Follow me," he indicated as he started walking.
Suddenly, the air moved with force, crashing against them and messing up their hair.
The fight between Rat and Nora was getting quite intense.
"I think it'd be better if we hurry," Alioth mentioned as he picked up the pace.
That was true, it was better not to be caught in the middle of the battle's aftermath.
However, at that moment Eirian stopped, he had remembered an important detail.
"You should know that where we're going, it's not just Ruth, there will be enemies too," the boy indicated with a worried look.
The one who was in charge of the xenos was just a crazy old man, but he could end up being a problem.
"Pyun nyun!" Abzu affirmed with a cheerful smile as he jumped onto Alioth's head.
The white-haired boy smiled as he nodded.
"You're right, if I have my companion, there's nothing to fear," Alioth commented, though deep down he was worried.
Alioth was very cautious.
That world was extremely dangerous, and he had been born without Ka, which meant he had no orgone and was physically weak.
A single attack could leave him in bad shape.
Because of that, Alioth was always careful.
He didn't want to lose his life again.
"Is he your spirit?" Eirian asked with curiosity, as the scarlet marks under his eye glowed.
Alioth shook his head.
"Abzu is more like my partner, a friend," he said with a smile.
Abzu was more than just a tool to Alioth, he was a brother.
He was very important to him.
"Pyun yun nyun!" Abzu corroborated with a smile.
The small blue sphere looked very happy. As if he shared that feeling.
Then, another shockwave brought them back to reality.
It was better if they hurried.
Eirian quickened his pace toward where the cabin used to be.
There were only ruins left there, not a trace of the old house.
Except for a hole, a hole with a staircase.
Clearly a secret passageway.
"This is it," Eirian indicated.
A sinister aura was escaping from that hole.
It didn't invite you in.
Alioth swallowed hard. He had to muster up the courage to take the first step.
They both descended the old stone stairs.
It smelled of stagnation and death. It was very unpleasant.
They kept descending the stairs. The darkness grew deeper and deeper, until they finally reached a stone hallway, lit only by torches.
"Holy spirits, how many people are down here?" Alioth asked, surprised.
The hallways had several cells. In them you could see small figures, most likely demons.
They looked like the living dead. Dirty clothes, gaunt, still on the ground without moving, as if they had given up on living.
"Y-yeah, it's terrible," Eirian admitted, embarrassed, as if he regretted having been part of it.
Alioth nodded, even the cheerful Abzu seemed distressed.
"Alright Eirian, you free the people here, I'll keep going to look for more," Alioth indicated as he kept moving forward.
Eirian opened his mouth to speak but then kept quiet.
As if he wanted to warn about something but wasn't sure whether to say it.
Alioth didn't notice and simply kept walking.
The boy kept making his way through the hallway until finally, he reached his objective.
An old wooden door was closed at the end of it.
Without hesitating for a second, he opened it.
The old wooden door creaked as a new room revealed itself before Alioth.
Upon seeing it, Alioth was horrified.
