As the two space pods descended, Goku and the others instantly sensed the approaching Ki.
"They're here," Krillin said grimly.
Two blinding white streaks tore through the sky.
Boom! Boom!
Vegeta's and Nappa's space pods smashed into the ground, throwing up massive clouds of dust and debris.
Moments later, the dust slowly settled, revealing two deep craters.
The hatches opened.
Two figures stepped out.
"A-Are those the two companions Raditz mentioned?" Yamcha asked, his voice tense.
The Ki radiating from them far exceeded anything he had imagined.
Whoosh—
Thud!
Vegeta and Nappa flew up from their craters and landed before the group.
"Kakarot," Vegeta said coldly, a faint smile on his lips. "So you really were revived."
Goku nodded calmly.
"You're Raditz's companions?"
"That's right," Nappa laughed. "I'm Nappa, and beside me stands the Prince of all Saiyans—Lord Vegeta!"
"The Prince of the Saiyans…"
Vegeta glanced over the group.
"One, two… seven, eight. Quite a crowd."
"Nappa," Vegeta said lazily, "why don't you play with them first?"
"Yes, Lord Vegeta!"
Nappa tapped the scouter over his left eye.
Beep—beep—
"1220…"
"1083…"
"1480…"
"1830…"
"610…"
"Hmph! Just a bunch of weaklings with pathetic power levels!"
Vegeta frowned slightly.
"What about Kakarot?"
"I haven't checked yet," Nappa replied dismissively. "But there's no way he's much stronger than them."
"Don't underestimate him," Vegeta warned. "Kakarot is not that simple."
Nappa stiffened.
"…Yes, Lord Vegeta!"
He turned the scouter toward Goku.
Beep—beep—
"1000…"
Nappa let out a breath.
"Lord Vegeta, Kakarot's power level is only 1,000."
"Only 1,000?" Vegeta scoffed. "What about the brat?"
Nappa aimed the scouter at Gohan.
Beep—beep—
"980…"
"980!" Nappa reported.
Vegeta stroked his chin.
"I see now. They're hiding their true power levels."
"Hiding them?"
"Have you forgotten?" Vegeta said coldly. "When Kakarot fought Raditz, his power jumped from over 400 to more than 900 in an instant."
"I understand," Nappa said. "But even if he's hiding it, there's no way he's stronger than me."
"Still," Vegeta said, "be cautious."
"Yes, Lord Vegeta!"
Goku frowned slightly.
"Aren't you going to start already?"
Nappa laughed loudly.
"Kakarot, are you in such a hurry to die?"
Goku tilted his head in confusion.
Although Nappa's Ki was strong, he was confident he could defeat him.
Vegeta, on the other hand… that was another matter.
Nappa sneered and walked forward, planting several strange seeds into the ground.
"What's he doing?" Yamcha asked nervously.
"I don't know," Krillin replied.
Bang! Bang!
The earth erupted.
Six short, green creatures burst out of the soil.
They were Saibamen.
Each one radiated a terrifying aura.
"Those are Saibamen," Piccolo said grimly. "Each one has a power level of 1,200."
"1,200?!" Krillin gasped. "That's almost as strong as Raditz!"
"And there are six of them," Tien added.
Yamcha swallowed hard.
"…Maybe we should fight together."
Piccolo snorted disdainfully.
Nappa waved his arm impatiently.
"Attack!"
The Saibamen screeched and charged forward.
Goku vanished and reappeared instantly, his fist piercing straight through one Saibaman's chest.
Gohan casually raised his hand and fired a Ki blast.
Boom!
Another Saibaman was instantly erased.
Krillin raised his hand, forming a spinning disc of light.
"Destructo Disc!"
Whoosh—
The blade sliced cleanly through a Saibaman, cutting it in half.
"Nice!" Yamcha shouted.
Confidence surging, Yamcha gathered energy.
"Spirit Ball!"
The blue energy sphere shot forward.
Suddenly, the Saibaman's head split open, spraying corrosive liquid.
Yamcha jumped back quickly, guiding the Spirit Ball with his hand.
Boom!
The Saibaman exploded.
The remaining two hesitated.
"Don't retreat!" Nappa roared.
The Saibamen screeched and lunged again.
One charged at Piccolo.
Piccolo stepped forward, punching it hard in the abdomen.
"Gah!"
The Saibaman screamed and collapsed.
Piccolo raised his hand.
Boom!
An energy blast finished it instantly.
