Chapter 30 - CH.30

On the far side of the Milky Way, the Obsidian Five scoured the void for traces of the fleeing Asgardian warships.

After being scolded by Thanos, they now pursued their quarry with relentless intensity, not daring to rest for even a moment. Yet, after the fourth space jump, a complication emerged: the Asgardian fleet had split, scattering in different directions.

After deliberation, the generals sent a message to Thanos. Upon receiving it, he immediately understood the situation: Odin had anticipated their pursuit and sacrificed the fleet to save himself.

A dark admiration flickered across his face. Cold, decisive, and utterly ruthless—this was the god he had been hunting.

"These ships," Thanos mused, "carry hundreds of thousands of loyal warriors, men who risked their lives for Odin… and now they were abandoned in a single stroke."

There was nothing he could do about it. His only hope was to track the fleet back to the Asgardian continent. Without that, finding Odin in the vast expanse of the galaxy would be like searching for a needle in a cosmic haystack.

Thanos did not personally pursue the ships—he had more pressing matters. He ordered his forces to continue constructing interstellar fortresses near the wormhole, to keep building warships on planets in the rear, and he himself sought out suitable worlds to experiment with his growing powers.

Two months passed in the blink of an eye. Over 300 ships were added to Thanos's armada, swelling the fleet to ten thousand vessels. The Black Order relentlessly hunted the remaining Asgardian ships, yet none surrendered. Ultimately, the Asgardian warriors chose self-destruction over capture, denying Thanos the chance to take prisoners.

With no more immediate threat, Thanos turned his attention to ruling the stars, one by one.

On a desolate planet, he knelt, hands glowing with purple energy as he absorbed the planet's core. His previous conquest of a world had unlocked the Star-Absorbing Technique, though he had never tested it fully before. The skill's limitation quickly became clear: only planets with burning cores could yield energy. Dead worlds with cooled cores offered nothing.

After two months of steady absorption, the planet beneath him began to cool, its atmosphere thinning and fading. The so-called Star-Absorbing Technique, he realized, was effectively draining a living planet of its life force.

A soft buzzing sound interrupted him. Without looking up, he knew it was one of his men. Since this was his first attempt at using the technique, he had kept his ship at a safe distance of 100,000 kilometers in orbit, unsure when the planet beneath him would fully collapse.

Moments later, a sleek, silver-white ship approached. The hatch opened, and a figure in a gray robe—face obscured—stepped out. The figure knelt before Thanos, ten meters away.

"Lord Thanos," the figure said respectfully, voice calm. "We believe we have located traces of the Asgardian continent."

Thanos finally lifted his gaze. This was a Dark Executor of the Obsidian Order, an intelligence-type cyborg, not one built for combat but for calculation and strategy.

"How did you find it?" Thanos asked.

The Executor's tone was measured. "Someone as proud as Odin would surely establish Asgard at the center of the Milky Way, a monument to his power. We focused our search there—and unexpectedly, we found a location that fits the description."

Thanos nodded, approval in his expression. "Good. Return to your ship. I will follow shortly."

"Yes, my lord."

The Executor departed, leaving Thanos alone. He increased the Star-Absorbing energy, drawing vast amounts into his body. A deep rumble shook the planet; cracks spider-webbed across its surface, volcanoes erupted, and an apocalyptic scene unfolded. Yet the world was lifeless, and there was no consequence beyond the destruction of matter.

After half an hour, the planet's core finally cooled, the energy flow to his hands ceasing. Thanos rose into the sky. The continuous explosions sent chunks of the planet hurtling into space, until only a broken core, roughly a thousand kilometers wide, remained—a stark reminder that the world had once existed.

In orbit, Thanos opened his personal attribute panel:

Physical Condition: 0.4

Strength: 0.8

Agility: 0.7

Mental Strength: 0.7

Active Skill: Destructive Power

Passive Skills: Titan Bloodline, Super Regeneration, Super Constitution, Super Strength, Super Agility, Powerful Spirit, Tough Skin

Unique Skills: Ruler, Star Absorption Technique

Equipment: Tyrant's Blade, Tyrant's Armor, Mind Gem

He nodded in satisfaction. Absorbing the planet had boosted his four-dimensional attributes by over a thousand points, pushing them past three thousand. The greatest improvement was in his physical condition, and his mental strength now exceeded thirty thousand, thanks to a year mastering the Mind Stone.

If each planet grants this much power, absorbing a hundred worlds could elevate me to the late stage of the Heavenly Father level, he thought.

His panel did not show levels explicitly, but years of observation allowed him to gauge them: ordinary humans, strong humans, superhumans, planetary-level beings, sub-celestial fathers, celestial fathers, single-universe rulers, and multiverse-level entities. Each tier had its characteristic attribute range.

Ordinary: average attributes

Strong humans: 2–10 points

Superhumans: 10–100 points

Planetary-level: 100–1,000 points

Sub-celestial: 1,000–10,000 points

Celestial-level: 10,000–100,000 points

Elsewhere, these distinctions had other names—but to Thanos and his faction, this was the precise hierarchy of power.
