Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Good Girls and Bad Girls

Seeing Cheng Zhu's furrowed brow, Wang Anquan didn't continue the topic and instead said: "Zhuge, even though Li Xinyue has a bit of a princess temper, you two have broken up and gotten back together so many times—one more time won't hurt, right?"

TL: Don't know if I addressed it earlier, Zhu ge is like calling him Zhu big bro. Nice and respectful way of calling your friend, though usually superior subordinate style

Cheng Zhu looked out the window and said lightly: "Reading a book again will bring new insights, but not a new ending."

Hearing this, Wang Anquan couldn't help but feel shaken, thinking these words were very profound.

"Reading a book again will bring new insights, but not a new ending." He silently memorized this phrase in his heart, deciding to recite it to others at appropriate opportunities after starting university.

And when Zhuge said it, he wasn't even looking at me but out the window, making him seem even more fucking profound.

You have to understand, after Cheng Zhu became young and accomplished, a whole bunch of rich second generations and first-generation entrepreneurs all acknowledged that this guy was the most arrogant. Wang Anquan, who was still just a student, couldn't handle him.

However, there was quite a lot of information in that statement. Wang Anquan felt that maybe Cheng Zhu was a bit disheartened—it seemed this time he was determined to break up and seal the ending shut.

He could only sigh and say: "Actually, Rongrong told me that Li Xinyue just has a heavy princess temper, but she still cares about you a lot in her heart."

This made Cheng Zhu instantly turn his head and look Wang Anquan up and down, frowning: "Is it because Chen Rongrong and Li Xinyue are good friends, so you really don't want me to break up with her? That way it'd be easier for you to get close to Chen Rongrong!"

Although this was indeed part of Wang Anquan's thinking, he still loudly refuted with false bravado: "How could that be! Zhuge, your mind is really twisted!"

"Better not be." Cheng Zhu said to him.

His impression of Chen Rongrong was rather vague. Although regressing had awakened some memories, he only remembered she was the earliest female classmate to get married—she got pregnant before even graduating university, then forced the guy to marry her or she'd make a big scene.

He hadn't had much contact with her after that, not many memories.

He only knew that after marriage she seemed to have borrowed money from Wang Anquan, but he hadn't looked into this matter deeply because he was too busy during that time.

Speaking of which, Cheng Zhu felt that regression was quite miraculous.

He'd returned to his youth, but his mindset was still that of many years later.

Originally at this period, he would have had a two or three year relatively innocent phase.

After starting university, he and Li Xinyue broke up, and he suffered emotional wounds.

But during that time, there was a female classmate who really cared about him, often taking the initiative to chat with him and constantly comforting him.

Although this female classmate was a bit less attractive than Li Xinyue in terms of looks, she spoke softly and gently, and more importantly—she had very long legs.

Cheng Zhu fell into love's river again, then experienced another wave of suffocating in that river. The result was still terrible—he didn't even want to recall it.

After that, Cheng Zhu changed somewhat.

He didn't become afraid of dating because of it, constantly saying things like "sealing my heart and locking away love" or "first sword after going ashore cuts down my beloved."

His mindset just changed, but life went on.

Date when you should date, break up when you should break up.

Just don't trap yourself, and don't get so scared that you're afraid to keep moving forward.

"All the major navigation apps have a voice prompt that tells you when you've gone the wrong way: Please make a U-turn at a suitable location and reroute."

"What's the big deal!"

Perhaps it was because of this that friends around him all felt this guy was the most carefree.

...

...

The bus traveled through Hangzhou. Cheng Zhu looked out the window, feeling everything was both familiar and strange.

"Hangzhou's housing prices at this point aren't as crazy as they'll be later." He thought to himself.

As bad luck would have it, the bus even passed by a property development that Cheng Zhu would buy later, but right now this area hadn't been demolished yet.

"Fucking hell, I hadn't even finished decorating it after buying it, never even lived there, and then I regressed!" Cheng Zhu was furious.

This made him set a goal in his heart—to buy property while housing prices were still low and properly make up for his losses.

"It's 2014 now. Don't think it's just a few years back in time—there are actually quite a few ways to make money." Cheng Zhu's thoughts began to fly.

Just as he was thinking about how to desperately make money, his phone buzzed. It was a WeChat message from Li Xinyue.

"We're really completely over this time." That was the content of her message.

Same old routine. Cheng Zhu just laughed.

Many people love doing this—clearly in their hearts they want the other person to try to win them back, but they love using harsh words to force the other person, telling them if you don't give in now you won't get another chance.

Wang Anquan very nosily leaned over to look.

Students, you know, didn't have that many reservations. In university dorms there would even be strategists looking at WeChat messages while teaching people how to reply.

Then he saw Cheng Zhu quickly type back: "Okay."

Just two short characters, making Wang Anquan's eyes go round as saucers.

Immediately after, he saw "typing..." appear above the dialog box, then "typing..." disappeared and the contact changed to the name "Yueyue," then back to "typing..." again.

After repeating this several times, the other side only replied: "Let's delete each other."

Cheng Zhu swiftly deleted Li Xinyue from his friends list.

The entire set of actions flowed like water, without hesitation. At first he even planned to block then delete, that way he'd never receive friend requests from the other party again.

Watching from the side, Wang Anquan had a feeling in his heart: "Why do I feel like Zhuge is so practiced at this, like he does it all the time?"

He blurted out in a daze: "You really just deleted her?"

"What else?" Cheng Zhu said matter-of-factly.

I already fulfilled her every request, what more do you want?

Wang Anquan couldn't help saying: "Zhuge, Li Xinyue must be dying of anger right now, right?"

Cheng Zhu smiled indifferently and said: "Actually, me treating her this way is pretty good for her."

"Huh?" Wang Anquan was completely confused.

Cheng Zhu said: "With Li Xinyue's personality, once she gets to university, she'll most likely break up with me and throw herself into someone else's arms."

"Huh?" Wang Anquan was even more confused.

"But, that would be after she starts university and we're in a long-distance relationship. Think about it—I could totally keep dating her through summer vacation."

That way, every day would have little lips to kiss, every day would have a little waist to hold.

Through the long summer, with his current level, he could easily eat her up completely and unlock everything that should be unlocked.

Then, just wait for the long-distance relationship.

Making use of resources within a limited time.

For a fickle bad girl like Li Xinyue, honestly, Cheng Zhu wouldn't even feel a bit of psychological burden.

Of course, Wang Anquan couldn't understand any of this, and Cheng Zhu didn't plan on making him understand.

He just suddenly thought of a knowledge point at this moment.

It was a famous quote left behind by a certain guy that many netizens called the Grand Master.

Although he didn't plan to actually apply this famous quote to Li Xinyue, after thinking about it, he still decided to write it down in his notes, feeling it had some reference value.

He opened his phone's notes app and started typing.

Wang Anquan watched from the side. When he saw the first half of the sentence, he felt it was pretty normal, even thought the words were quite crude.

But after seeing the second half, he was completely stunned, shocking his innocent student heart.

The Grand Master's famous quote that Cheng Zhu wrote down was:

"Don't let down good girls, don't waste bad girls."
