The studio had become part of her rhythm now, not a destination, but a place she returned to. She no longer wondered whether she should go.

She went because it felt right.

Her work there remained undefined, but her relationship to it did not. She arrived, worked, paused, left.

Across the city, Marcus Blackwood experienced a similar steadiness.

He had stopped announcing changes in his life. He simply made them.
