Chapter 97: The Gap Between Them and the Strongest

Hearing the voice, Tatsumaki instinctively turned around.

King was already standing beside her. While his weakened state hadn't kicked in yet, he unleashed his boundless psychokinesis, enveloping the entire spaceship.

Seeing his fluttering golden hair, Tatsumaki was momentarily entranced, her large emerald eyes staring straight at him.

In a daze, King's figure seemed to slowly merge with a certain deeply etched memory.

Blast...

Tatsumaki paused, then snapped out of it. She shook her head vigorously, her green curls dancing in the air like snakes.

Raising her hand again, their psychic powers merged in the void, forming an even more majestic force that locked the entire spaceship in place.

The descent of the colossal ship slowed until it stagnated. Under the control of King and Tatsumaki, it began to lower inch by inch from the sky.

Tatsumaki glanced at King's calm face. She brushed away a stray lock of hair and asked nonchalantly:

"So? Did you deal with the alien leader?"

King nodded, a hint of respect in his tone.

"It's done. He was a very worthy opponent. His strength was truly formidable."

"Oh?"

Tatsumaki raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

"For the so-called Strongest Man on Earth to say he was strong... it seems this alien leader wasn't just some small fry. Not bad."

In fact, Tatsumaki knew in her heart that if she were the one fighting, she most likely couldn't have defeated the alien leader.

When King and Boros fought briefly on the surface, Tatsumaki, with her powerful senses, had felt the terrifying pressure emanating from Boros—pressure that exceeded her own by a significant margin.

Even though Tatsumaki was extremely confident in her psychic abilities, the sheer intensity of the battle between King and Boros was too overwhelming.

Combining this with the fact that King had defeated her in just a few moves but had struggled with Boros for over ten minutes, Tatsumaki formed her judgment.

This guy... really lives up to his reputation...

Once upon a time, when King was first named the Strongest Man on Earth, Tatsumaki had been disdainful, thinking it was just exaggerated hype.

It wasn't until King achieved more and more legendary feats that she began to see him differently, developing a sense of respect.

Later, after their spar where she was easily defeated, the proud Esper Queen finally acknowledged the title of the Strongest Man on Earth.

RUMBLE...

Under the combined control of King and Tatsumaki, the spaceship finally touched down slowly in a desolate wilderness.

A-Class and B-Class heroes swarmed forward, while S-Class heroes held the line at the rear, beginning a massive sweep of the ship.

Soon, a large group of alien soldiers who had survived the shockwaves of King and Boros's battle were bound tightly and tossed out in bundles.

One pink-skinned alien who looked suspiciously like Patrick Star was thrown out. Seeing the densely packed heroes outside, his legs went weak with fear.

"Waaaaah! I want to go home..."

What is this?! Why is this invasion so messed up?!

The Patrick-alien burst into tears, sinking into a depression.

He thought this would be just a routine invasion of a primitive planet. Instead, news came from the control room that the Three Generals were struggling.

Then, the powerful Lord Geryuganshoop went silent after a brief skirmish. Even the legendary leader, Lord Boros, was engaged in a hard fight.

After that, the ship shook violently, and a bunch of inexplicable energy waves flooded through. If he hadn't been ostracized and lived in a remote part of the ship, he would have been turned into ash long ago.

And now, the ship had crashed, they were all captured, and there was no sign of the Three Generals or Lord Boros.

This obviously means we lost!

Thinking of this, the Patrick-alien cried even harder, knowing he probably wouldn't escape death.

Just then, crisp footsteps approached. The Patrick-alien and the other soldiers looked up simultaneously.

Before them stood a slender man with long blue hair draping casually over his shoulders. His yellow eyes and enchantingly handsome face left a deep impression.

Eh?

Before the aliens could react, veins popped out on the blue-haired man's face. Undisguised disgust appeared on his handsome features.

"Truly a group of filthy monsters. How ugly! You have no value living in this world!"

With a roar, Sweet Mask raised his hand. His palm turned into a blade, slicing through the void with sharp precision. In an instant, he chopped the group of alien soldiers in front of him into a mist of blood.

"Sweet Mask! What are you doing?!"

"These are important hostages! We need them to interrogate for information about the aliens!"

"Are you on the monsters' side? Why are you covering up for them? Did you kill them to destroy evidence?!"

Facing the accusations of the heroes, Sweet Mask snorted coldly, his tone dripping with disdain.

"Monsters deserve to die, especially ugly ones. You question my motives for killing them? I question your motives for wanting to save them!"

The argument intensified, almost escalating into a physical fight. Sweet Mask was simply too arrogant and didn't put the other heroes in his eyes at all.

Just as Sweet Mask's veins bulged further, ready to strike, a sudden, rhythmic booming sound echoed in everyone's ears.

DOOM... DOOM... DOOM! DOOM-DOOM!

"That sound is familiar..."

"It's the King Engine! Mr. King is back!"

Hearing this, everyone stopped arguing instantly. King's reputation was simply too immense.

Especially after his battle with Boros, everyone had witnessed the true power of the Strongest Man on Earth and felt the gap between themselves and the pinnacle of strength.
