As he laughed, his expression twisted with madness once again.
"I am the one Father sees as the future heir! Do you really think you can kill me like this?!"
The words had barely left his lips when his smile turned bizarre. The eight beast marks on his arm suddenly flared, increasing to nine!
"Do you know why I was able to advance again?"
Chi's expression turned cold. He abruptly broke free of Gu Yin's hold. His snake tail, which had instantly doubled in size, whipped around and slammed Gu Yin violently against the stone wall, sending a shower of rocks clattering down.
Chi's eyes were dark as he reached up to touch the bloody hole in his neck. The pain twisted his face into an even more hideous, terrifying mask.
He slithered menacingly before Gu Yin, seized him, and returned the earlier torture several times over. "If I hadn't just eaten your children, you might have actually killed me."
