The next morning, Kaiser did not show up for the elementary magic class.
Seraphina entered the classroom as usual. Even before placing her grimoire on the platform, she quickly scanned the rows of students. Immediately, she noticed that the seat in the last row, near the window, was empty.
"Perfect…"
A very slight relaxation, almost a sigh of relief, passed over her features before disappearing, imperceptible to anyone who did not know her intimately.
Without comment, she delivered her lesson, and without the slightest interruption until the very end.
As she walked back down the silent corridor toward her private apartments, her mind inevitably returned to the brief meeting she had had with Daeron in his office.
"Private lessons for a student…" she had murmured after reading the sealed letter the director had given her. Her fingers had slightly tightened on the parchment. "And it had to fall on me. What a chore."
She had clicked her tongue, annoyed by this sudden situation.
