Thousands of kilometers from the Spectrum castle, the continent Tenebris, vast as it was, remained under a gray sky. The air was dry, charged with an odor of burned dust, a cold stench of vile putrid flesh. In short, it smelled of death.
This region of Tenebris was known for its rare-level monsters and perhaps forgotten artifacts from the thousand-year war.
Dark abandoned ruins rose amid the cracked ground, reminding of the ancient destructive battles humanity had fought to repel those infamous demons.
And throughout the longevity of that war, the most powerful of that era had left artifacts said to be capable of changing even a commoner without special lineage or talent.
For the Academy factions, Tenebris represented precious territory. People did not come only to kill monsters that threatened to escape if the rift lasted too long. They came rather for the minerals, relics, and rare crystals that rarely lowered market prices.
