Chapter 2 - The Path of the End

Kaelthos stood in the middle of the devastated clearing, the ground scorched and monsters turned to ash.

Cid was still trembling.

W-What… what are you he asked, voice shaking.

Kaelthos ignored him. He scanned the horizon the kingdom, glowing faintly in the distance, was where the woman had summoned them. That's where the chaos originates.

Cid, Kaelthos said calmly, hold on.

Before Cid could respond, Kaelthos raised his hand. The air rippled like water, reality bending around him.

Teleport me.

In an instant, the world disappeared.

The kingdom appeared before them towers, streets, and people panicking as dragons and demons ravaged the outskirts.

Kaelthos landed silently on the cobblestone road. The force of his arrival made the stones crack beneath his feet.

Cid coughed, dizzy from the teleportation.

W Where… where are we.

Kaelthos didn't answer. He simply scanned the battlefield. Monsters swarmed a guard post, a dragon's shadow fell over the eastern gate, and civilians screamed in terror.

He moved forward.

Kaelthos extended his hand, and the air around him darkened. Shadows twisted and cracked like glass.

A single thought.

An intention to end.

The monsters froze. Then, one by one, their bodies erased from existence, leaving only scorched marks where they had stood.

Cid's jaw dropped.

H Holy... you didn't even touch them.

Kaelthos's eyes glowed faintly.

"My abilities don't need touch. They only need… will.

They approached the main gate. Soldiers looked at them in awe and fear.

Who… who are you" one stammered.

Kaelthos's voice was calm, flat, terrifying.

I am the one who ends everything. Step aside.

Without hesitation, the guards obeyed. Not out of respect but out of instinctual fear.

Cid whispered, still in shock.

Do you… do you always have to be like this.

Kaelthos glanced at him, expressionless.

When you awaken power that once killed gods… mercy is optional.

Inside the city, chaos reigned. Dragons fought soldiers in the streets. Demons tore through marketplaces. Civilians ran screaming, terrified.

Kaelthos walked forward, each step leaving reality slightly bent behind him.

Let's see what this world truly fears, he said softly, almost to himself.
