After an hour of studying, Andrea flopped onto the table.
"Break time," she announced.
I checked my watch. "We only studied for an hour."
"Yeah, and my brain's melting."
I sighed. "Fine. Five minutes."
Andrea grinned, sitting up. "Hey, Rest."
"What?"
"Do you think we'll still be friends in high school?"
I blinked. "That's a random question."
"I know." She twirled her pencil. "But seriously. You think we'll still sit next to each other? Still study together?"
I thought about it.
"...I don't know," I admitted. "But I don't see why not."
Andrea tilted her head, looking at me curiously. "You're so logical about everything."
"You say that like it's a bad thing."
"It's not." She smiled a little. "I think it's kinda nice."
For some reason, her expression made me feel… something.
Something I didn't quite understand.
But before I could figure it out, she stretched and grinned. "Alright! Back to studying!"
And just like that, the moment passed.
