Chapter 127 - Chapter 127 — THE RAIN NIGHT: LADDU RUNS

TWO MONTH HAS PASS

The rain had no mercy that night.

Not the soft kind.

Not the romantic kind.

This was heavy rain 🌧️

Cold. Sharp. Relentless.

The kind that erased colors and turned the world into gray.

THE CALL 📞

Laddu was still in his office, finishing files under harsh white lights, when his old Nokia phone buzzed in his pocket.

One name.

Mama.

He picked up instantly.

Mama's voice came broken, shaky, barely holding together.

Mama:

"Son… I—I think… it's happening…

The baby… I'm in labor…"

Time stopped.

Just for half a second.

Then—

Laddu shot up so fast the chair crashed behind him.

Laddu:

"Mama, hold on. I'm coming.

I'm coming right now."

He didn't wait.

He ran.

THE SPRINT 🏃‍♂️💨

Jin saw Laddu sprint through the hallway like a man chased by fate itself.

Jin:

"Laddu! What happened?!"

Laddu didn't slow down.

Laddu:

"Mama's in labor.

Tell the Chairman I'm gone."

The office doors burst open.

Rain slammed into his face like punishment.

Without thinking, Laddu dialed one number.

Laddu:

"Bob! Bring the car! NOW!"

Bob answered instantly.

Bob:

"I'm already outside!"

THE RACE AGAINST TIME 🚗⚡

The car screeched to a halt.

Laddu jumped in, soaked, breathing hard.

Bob slammed the accelerator before the door even shut.

Bob:

"What about the rest of your family?!"

Laddu:

"They went to pick up Granny and Grandpa.

Mama is alone!"

Rain hammered the windshield like stones.

Bob:

"Seatbelt!"

Laddu didn't hear him.

His hands were shaking.

His jaw locked.

The man who never showed fear—

Was terrified.

Bob glanced at him.

Bob (quiet):

"We'll get her. Trust me."

THE DOOR 🚪💥

They reached the house.

Dark.

Lights off.

Rain screaming around them.

Laddu ran to the front door.

Locked.

He banged it once.

Twice.

Three times.

Laddu:

"Mama! Mama! Can you hear me?!"

From inside, a faint voice—

Mama:

"Son… I can't move…"

Laddu stepped back.

Bob's eyes widened.

Bob:

"Don't tell me you're going to—"

Laddu lowered his shoulder.

WHAM!!

The door broke open.

Wood splintered everywhere.

Bob:

"You're insane—!"

But Laddu was already inside.

MOTHER AND SON 🤍

Mama lay on the floor, holding her stomach.

Sweat on her face.

Breathing uneven.

She looked up.

Mama:

"Son…"

Laddu dropped to his knees instantly.

One arm under her knees.

One behind her back.

Strong. Careful. Steady.

Laddu:

"I've got you, Mama.

I've got you."

She clutched his shirt.

Mama:

"I was scared…"

He held her closer.

Laddu:

"I'm here.

Nothing will happen to you."

HOSPITAL RUSH 🏥🚨

Bob drove like the road didn't matter anymore.

Laddu held Mama in the back seat, whispering calmly.

Laddu:

"Breathe… slow… good…

I'm here."

Mama:

"It hurts—!"

Laddu:

"I know.

Be strong. We're almost there."

They reached the hospital.

Laddu carried her inside, rainwater dripping, footsteps echoing.

Nurses rushed in with a wheelchair.

Nurse:

"How long? Months? Contractions?"

Laddu answered instantly.

Clear. Focused.

Laddu:

"Forty minutes.

Water hasn't broken.

seven months, three weeks."

No panic.

Only precision.

THE WAITING ⏳

Mama disappeared behind the doors.

Laddu sat down on a cold metal bench.

Soaked.

Hands trembling.

But his face—

Stone.

Bob sat beside him.

Bob:

"She'll be okay.

Your Mama is strong."

Laddu (low):

"She's the strongest person I know."

Bob placed a hand on his shoulder.

Laddu closed his eyes.

Laddu (whisper):

"Please… let her be safe."

Outside, thunder roared ⚡

Rain crashed harder.

THE DOCTOR 🩺

A doctor stepped out.

Doctor:

"We need the father."

Laddu stood instantly.

Laddu:

"I'm her son."

The doctor nodded.

Doctor:

"She's weak because of her age.

She needs someone she trusts inside."

Bob whispered.

Bob:

"Go."

Laddu inhaled deeply.

And stepped inside.

INSIDE — A SON'S HAND ✋🤍

Bright lights.

Machines.

Cold air.

Mama lay there, eyes half-open.

She saw him.

Reached out.

Mama:

"Son…"

Laddu took her hand with both of his.

Firm. Warm.

Laddu:

"I'm here.

Don't be afraid."

Mama (weak smile):

"You came fast…"

Laddu:

"I'd run across the whole country for you."

Her grip tightened.

Mama:

"Don't let go…"

Laddu:

"I won't. Never."

THE CRY 👶

Pain.

One scream.

Then another.

Then—

A sharp, tiny cry filled the room.

Doctor:

"A boy. Healthy."

Mama fainted from exhaustion.

The doctor reassured him.

Doctor:

"She'll be okay."

Laddu finally breathed.

A long, shaking breath.

A nurse placed the baby in his arms.

Tiny.

Red.

Soft.

Laddu froze.

Then gently held him.

The baby blinked.

Something cracked inside Laddu's chest.

Not loud.

But deep.

Laddu (soft):

"Little NPC…

nice."

A tiny smile appeared.

The first in months.

BOB 🤝

Bob rushed in.

Stopped when he saw Laddu holding the baby.

Bob:

"…He's cute."

Laddu:

"He looks like a potato."

Bob laughed quietly.

Bob:

"All babies do."

Laddu looked at his unconscious Mama.

Laddu (soft):

"…Her too."

The baby yawned.

Laddu held him closer.

And for the first time in a long, long time—

He felt alive. 🌱
