Hi everyone, this is where some of the key terms are defined. I'm keeping things intentionally brief here, not because the details aren't important, but because much of the lore is meant to be discovered naturally as the story unfolds.
Note: If you are a fan of stories like Lord of the Mysteries or Shadow Slave, then Grand Ascension is for you.
Grand Ascension has that same energy. A protagonist who did not ask for this. A world that does not care if you are ready. And power that will consume you if you are not careful.
Makun is not some chosen hero. He is a guy whose life fell apart and is trying everything possible to survive, figure out who caused it and regain what was his.
If you like investigative mysteries, cosmic horror, and protagonists who have to claw their way up from nothing, this is it.
A WORD ABOUT ARC 1 (TRUST THE PROCESS)
Here is the thing: Arc 1 is intentionally paced for discovery.
Most of the first arc is us learning alongside Makun as he enters this world. Further more, we get some good action, to discover how fights work in this world. If the pace feels bizzare at first, hang in. Because once he figures out part of the world and gets initiated, we are entering a high-speed train full of motion and emotion with just a few breaks to catch our breath.
So please, fully immerse yourself in the world of Grand Ascension. You will not regret it.
My goal is not just to tell a cool story. It is to write something people are going to love. Something that makes you stay up until 3 AM because you have to know what happens next. Something that makes you think about Makun, The Deep, and the Veil even when you are not reading.
I want a huge number of people to view part of our world through this lens: the lens of Grand Ascension.
And I want to Thank Neo MC3 for giving me the vision for this universe. Without her I would not have been able to create this world of Grand Ascension.
Now, some important information.
HOW POWER WORKS IN GRAND ASCENSION
To gain power in the world of Grand Ascension, it is not just about absorbing energy or reciting scriptures. Here, power is gained through comprehension. You can do whatever you want, from simple meditation to sacrificing a whole country. As long as you gain some enlightenment from it, you are guaranteed to advance.
But comprehension does not come easy. There are four primary paths mystics use to grow, each with its own risks and rewards:
1. Meditation
Sit with your thoughts. Witness your patterns. Understand the chaos within you. This is the slowest path, but it is the safest.
2. Ritual
Perform ceremonies. Bind symbols. Pacts with ancestral entities, or vile entities. Channel patterns through structured acts. Rituals compress years of meditation into hours, but they require precision, sacrifice and can lead to doom.
3. Lived Experience
Survive. Fight. Suffer. Break. Heal. This is the path most mystics walk without realizing it. Every battle, every loss, every moment of desperation carves comprehension into your soul.
4. External Resources
Consume knowledge. Buy formulas. Trade memories. Read forbidden texts. Drink potions laced with spiritual residue. Bind an entity and steal its understanding. This is the fastest path and the most dangerous.
The Truth:
Most mystics use all four paths.
Meditation keeps you grounded. Rituals give you bursts of growth. Lived experience forges you in fire. External resources fill the gaps. But the mystics who ascend the highest? They are the ones who understand that comprehension is not about quantity. It is about depth.
You can memorize a thousand truths and still be Tier 1. Or you can truly understand one truth and shatter your way to Tier 3.
In Grand Ascension, enlightenment is the currency. And the cost? Discover in the book.
Minor comprehensions move you from one grade to another. Major comprehensions move you from one tier to another. There are three grades per tier.
THE HIERARCHY OF ASCENSION
Tier 0 → Disconnected
Tier 1 → Initiated
Tier 2 → Apprentice
Tier 3 → Adept
Tier 4 → Elite
Tier 5 → Master
Tier 6 → Enlightened
Tier 7 → Grand
Tier 8 → Eternal
ROUTES: THE PATH TO ASCENSION
To climb from Disconnected to Eternal, you need to follow what is known as Routes.
A Route is not just a power system. It is a philosophy. A way of perceiving reality. A lens through which you filter comprehension. Every Route has its own logic, its own truths, and its own price. When you walk a Route, you are not just gaining abilities. You are reshaping your soul to align with a specific pattern of existence.
There are infinite Routes through which one can ascend. Some are ancient and well-documented. Others are experimental, dangerous, or forgotten. A mystic can theoretically create their own Route if they comprehend a truth no one else has touched. But most mystics stick to the established paths because walking an unknown Route without guidance is suicide.
THE SEVEN GREAT ROUTES
These are the most common and widely recognized Routes in the mystical world:
Warrior – The Route of combat, discipline, and physical mastery.
Scholar – The Route of knowledge, patterns, and truth-seeking.
Ruler – The Route of dominion, leadership, and authority over others.
Seer – The Route of fate, threads, and manipulation of destiny.
Healer – The Route of restoration, balance, and life force.
Architect – The Route of creation, structure, and shaping reality.
Merchant – The Route of exchange, value, and transaction mastery.
Each Route has its own strengths, weaknesses, and comprehension focus.
Sub-Routes are branching paths within a Great Route. They allow you to focus your power in a specific direction while still walking the same foundational Route.
I think this is enough info, Sorry for the minor spoilers. To spoil even less I wont mention some key terms here, discover them in the book.
Welcome to our journey, Hope you enjoy.
