Chapter 51 - Sightseeing - Visiting Kukuroo Mountain - Chapter 51

Conrad did not waste any time.

Early in the morning he went straight to the reception desk at Heaven's Arena.

"I'd like to fight again," he said. "One week from now."

The receptionist checked the system, glanced up at him with a polite smile, and nodded.

"That won't be a problem. I'll schedule your next match for one week later."

Conrad inclined his head slightly in acknowledgment.

One week was perfect.

Enough time to consolidate what he had learned, to polish his weaknesses, and to push his Nen control further.

He had no interest in rushing from fight to fight without reflection.

After leaving the arena, he stepped out into the city and let the morning air fill his lungs.

The tension from the previous battle had already faded, replaced by a familiar sense of focus.

He headed to a quiet restaurant and ordered a proper meal.

As he ate, he opened his laptop and skimmed through the news.

"According to my knowledge," he thought, "the Hunter Exam will start in about two months."

He paused.

"The one that aligns with the start of the series is further out."

"That gives me roughly nine to ten months before the Hunter Exam that matters."

He leaned back slightly in his chair.

"Ten months is a long time."

With that amount of time, and with consistent training, real combat experience, and careful development of Nen abilities, his growth potential was enormous.

He was not limited by lack of talent or understanding.

His bottleneck was exposure experience against truly dangerous opponents.

"With proper planning," he thought,

"I should be able to reach the level of a Phantom Troupe combatant."

Not just any member.

"Feitan… or higher."

The thought did not excite him so much as it grounded him.

It was not arrogance.

It was an assessment.

He knew where Feitan stood on the scale of combat power: speed, brutality, and a lethal Nen ability.

Conrad did not seek to surpass such figures through raw aggression.

He would still surpass them given time, and he kept on training and fighting.

But he was really dangerous in a sense, like Chrollo and Morena, instead of a fighter like Netero or Uvogin.

He would be a danger to all the world if he decides to be a villain of some sort.

Finishing his meal, he closed the laptop and looked out the window.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Hmmm…"

An idea had formed.

"I do want to see the Zoldyck Estate."

The thought lingered.

"It's a short trip," he reasoned. "I don't need to make any noise."

He had no intention of sneaking inside or provoking the family.

That would be foolish beyond measure.

But observing the gates, feeling their presence.

He was already in the world of Hunter x Hunter; as an avid lover of the series, it would not be great to see that Zoldyck Estate with his eyes.

As long as it is not dangerous and he is not creating problems for them, it makes sense.

In the end, Conrad believed that his sole purpose and target, his wish, pretty much aligned with Ging himself.

He wanted to explore, experience, and see many things that he did not have a chance to see when he was reading the manga.

He never forgot the excitement that he felt when he knew and heard about the Dark Continent Reveal, when Ging told Gon on the top of the World Tree.

Just that place needed a huge amount of time to explore; who knows what could be found there, how many secrets hidden there?

Even the thought of it made him feel excited.

Now, he had no capability or means to survive or reach there, but even the known world had many places that he could go.

It made sense to start from the places that were known to him by name but that he never had the capability to see with his own eyes.

Such as the Numere Wetlands, Eagle Scorpions that place their eggs on Mount Split-In-Half, Meteor City, and many more.

"Just sightseeing," he told himself. "Testing the gates. Looking around."

He ordered transportation tickets.

As he packed lightly, he reviewed his priorities for the coming week.

First:

His En was weaker compared to his other application of nen.

His range had improved, but refinement mattered more than raw distance, at least he believed he should be able to us "En" or other applications like breathing without too much of problem and effort.

Stability, sensitivity, and the ability to maintain En without mental strain were crucial if he wanted Sensing Pulse to reach its full potential.

Not to mention, having a powerful and ranged En is always useful for any kind of combat or utility reasons.

"Let's go and see the Kukuroo Mountain for the first time with my own eyes."
