Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Ascension to the Throne

Semi-invincible flow, needs time to develop, not immediately invincible. First-class combat power by chapter 20, invincible after chapter 60... Marine Calendar 1495.

On a remote island in the New World, the Nicuss Empire welcomed its new generation of Emperor.

"May the Sun God Nika grant you endless wisdom, courage, and strength! Her Majesty Nero Claudius, the tenth monarch of the Nicuss Empire!"

A kind-faced yet stern old man placed the crown in his hand on a young girl's head: "May His Majesty's light illuminate the world!"

"Umu, then can I go out to sea and shine?" The golden-haired, green-eyed, well-developed young girl named Nero asked excitedly.

The old man's smile became a bit forced: "Your Majesty, the Nicuss Empire still needs you to protect it. Your light should first shine on your own home!"

"But I want to go out to sea and see. A few days ago, I stumbled upon the Golden City of Shandora, umu! Such a wonderful place, I want a palace made of gold!" As Nero said this, both her eyes were sparkling, as if a golden palace was right before her.

"Idiot Princess! No! Idiot Emperor! For your flashy and impractical junk art, we've been in deficit for several years! And isn't Shandora just a fairy tale? Hurry up and take on your responsibilities as Emperor for this old man!"

"Ah? You actually insult the Emperor, how disrespectful! I will punish you to oversee the country for three… no, five years! If any problems arise in the country during this period, I will hold you accountable!"

"Don't think you can get away with it, old man! Sit properly on the throne!" The old man's fist was covered in a layer of black Haki, and he punched the young girl hard on the head.

"Umu, that hurts! You hateful old stinky brat, you really hit me? And you even used Haki?" Nero squatted down, clutching her head, tears sparkling in the corners of her eyes.

"You're so noisy! stinky brat! I was entrusted by the previous Emperor to train you into an excellent monarch, how could I let you run wild on the high seas?" The old man raised his muscular arm from beneath his white robe, his fist clenching with a creaking sound.

"Ahem, Lord Livord and Her Majesty Nero, the ministers are still watching!" The maid beside them reminded with a light cough.

Both of them simultaneously turned to look at the bottom of the steps, showing no surprise, only helplessness, clearly accustomed to such a situation.

"Jie jie jie! S... Surprise! The little play of the succession, isn... interesting, right?" The old man Livord forced a smile to explain.

"Umu, old stinky brat! Don't make a villain's laugh!" Nero's face was covered in black lines.

All the ministers: "...Can no one do anything about this!"

...Anyway, the succession ceremony ended in such an informal way, and the time came to the evening banquet.

"Ah~ Time really flies! In the blink of an eye, His Highness Nero has grown up too." A nobleman shook the red wine glass in his hand and chatted with a general.

"Honestly, that person's personality really makes one uneasy," the general nodded, but felt a headache when he remembered Nero constantly clamoring to go out to sea.

"Ho ho ho! This is also the meaning of our existence as old retainers!" The nobleman raised his red wine glass, staring at the red liquid inside: "His Majesty is hailed as the most talented monster in history; what she lacks now is only a little time."

"Everyone believes that under the leadership of Her Majesty Nero, the Empire will usher in unprecedented prosperity."

The general had no objection to this point. That visible talent had already reached the realm of a Great Swordsman two years ago, a level many people could not touch in a lifetime.

With such talent, calling her a monster was no exaggeration.

Thinking of this, the general chuckled, threw a chicken drumstick, bone and all, into his mouth, and said indistinctly, "You dare to call His Majesty a monster, you're finished, kid!"

"...Do something decent!"

Swallowing the meat, the general laughed heartily and clapped the nobleman on the shoulder: "Well, just kidding! But the seas have become increasingly chaotic in recent years. Did you read today's newspaper?"

"Really! Of course, I pay attention to the newspaper, it's those pirates, right?" The nobleman stroked his handlebar mustache: "The remnants of the Rocks Pirates have also grown up."

"The older generation—Silver Axe, John, and Wang Zhi—aside, most of them are retired in their respective territories." Taking a gulp of wine, the general wiped his mouth with his sleeve: "Whitebeard, Golden Lion, and that Roger, whose reputation has recently soared, are the troubles of the future!"

"They are just a bunch of sea villains; with His Majesty here, they won't cause any big waves."

"Heh~ That's true!"

Suddenly, a soldier ran over in a panic: "It's bad! General!"

"What's with all this fuss? Tonight is a banquet for His Majesty's succession, watch your words!" Before the general could speak, the nobleman frowned and reprimanded in a low voice.

The general also said nothing, looking at the soldier with displeasure.

"S-sorry!" The soldier saluted, stammering.

"Never mind, just tell me what's wrong!" Finally, the general raised his hand, signaling him to continue.

"It's just that… His Majesty locked the palace gates!" the soldier said nervously.

"Gulp!" The general and the nobleman swallowed their saliva upon hearing this, exchanged glances, and simultaneously realized something.

This news also gradually became known to others in the hall, and everyone became agitated; an uneasy atmosphere slowly spread through the palace.

All the lights in the room simultaneously went out, plunging it into darkness. Instantly, this unease reached its peak in a matter of seconds.

Livord, who had been smiling like a chrysanthemum all evening, now had a dark expression.

As a "Umu" sounded, several spotlights also lit up at the right time, and the figure appearing on the high platform was Nero.

"Umu! I am Nero! Today, I become the tenth Emperor of the Nicuss Empire, and my heart is filled with joy! Sing praises! Exclaim! Offer me applause like a thousand thunders!"

"Oh! Oh oh!" Cheers and applause were incessant, as if they would resound throughout the world.

'Let it continue like this!' Everyone thought in their hearts while applauding.

It was not until three minutes later that Minister Livord raised his hand to stop everyone's actions. What had to come would always come; if he didn't stop them, that Idiot Emperor on stage would surely make people applaud and cheer until the end of time.

Nero also recovered from the afterglow of praise and raised the microphone again: "Umu, my lords, enjoy the banquet to your heart's content! Eat meat heartily, drink wine heartily, and enjoy the charm of music!"

The atmosphere cooled down, but Nero knew they were all looking forward to her singing. As the best singer in Nicuss, Nero held concerts once a month to enjoy with the people.

Although this month's concert had already taken place two weeks ago, today was her coronation day and everyone was present, so was there any more suitable time for the Emperor's first concert than today?

Looking at the ministers below the stage, Nero raised the microphone, determined to give her twelve-tenths of enthusiasm and go all out...
