Luca's Pov
It was my first time going to school after what happened at Hillcrest High three years ago,mom was still tense about letting me go.
What if I could control the urge?What if things went south?We literally had to move to another country because of the incident.
It was all over the papers and soon enough the police would have figured me out if we had stayed a little longer.
"Now I want you to be careful Luca,I'd you sense any discomfort, excuse yourself and find your way home" mama said as she held my face in her palms.
"You don't have to worry Mom,I have it under control"
My dad was indifferent about the whole scenario,he was against me going back to school,but after so much pressure from my mom to allow me to grow up like every other blend in with the kids in the neighborhood,he finally succumbed.
I was a late bloomer and for many years,my father doubted my paternity,this was evident in how he treated me unlike my siblings.
My mom dropped me off at school in our old Mercedes car, it was hard to tell whether the peering eyes of the students were for the car or my pale skin.
You might be confused as to what a vampire was doing outside during the day,but we're not your regular vampires.
You see, my great -grand father got married to a human, thereby birthing a lineage of daywalkers. I need not worry about the sun,but the blood that ran through the veins of these posh kids at St Gregory college.
"Hey there,my name is Grace, welcome to St Gregory,may i ask what's your major" a skinny girl,in pink shorts with blond hair grabbed my hand, smiling broadly.
"Uhmm, business management,first year "I replied trying to pry away from her grip.
"Wow, same here,this is my first year as well,I just know we're going to be good friends, and do ignore the stare,...my elder sister goes here,she says students here are bunch of snobs,so it has nothing to do with your skin" she recoiled after her last phrase,as if it just hit her that she might have overstepped.
"Pardon me,hope you're not offended?We have a class in ten minutes,let's go " she headed into the building, literally pulling me with her.
We got into the lecture hall, and she began to get acquainted with everyone.
"Uhmm do you want to sit beside me" she offered me a seat next to the one that was reserved for her by her numerous male friends.
"No,but thanks" I declined. I think it's best to avoid her,she seemed like a narcissist.
"You could have this spot" a gentle voice came from behind.
"Ah thank you"
"My name is Peter,nice to meet you"he offered me a handshake as I sat next to him.
I was astonished,that I sat staring at him for almost a minute,how could a man be so beautiful,he had ocean blue eyes,a chiseled jaw black hair that looked a bit messy as he had ran his hands through them,his lips where pink and I could hardly resist the urge to bite into them.
"My_my name is Luca, nice to meet you too" I finally found my words .
"Finally, someone chose a guy over Grace's pussy,..I guess not everyone wants your pussy, some dudes wants ass"someone whistled from behind.
The whole class burst into laughter,they all seemed to enjoy the shade.
"How the hell does everyone know each other here?" I asked.
"You're a week behind Luca, didn't you go through the prospectus?" Peter replied calmly
"I didn't get one, I'm here in scholarship"
"Ohh I see, I'll help you out with my notes,we haven't gone that"

The lecture ended in a few hours and everyone began to head to find their way home.I was mostly distracted for the most part.I kept exchanging glances with Peter, I think I might have developed a crush on him.
"Where are you heading to ,I can drop you off?" Peter offered.
"You've got your own car?"
"Yeah,it's just something my mom got me from my birthday,you know what ,let's just go, I'll drop you off and find my way home"
No one has ever been this nice before,not since I lost my best friend in highschool.I grew up in a small town and everyone avoided my family because of our skin.
Maybe they thought we would infect them,we have been called lepers a couple of times.
"Holy shit bro,is this your car?" I was shocked when we went to the school garage and Peter unlocked a 2018 Lamborghini Urus.
"Yeah" he replied with a smile.
"Your parents must be loaded"
"Yeah I guess so ,it was a gift from my mom to appease me after she divorced my dad to marry her lesbian crush,....you wanna drive?" He threw the keys to me.
I have never driven such a car before but I was sure not going to let this opportunity pass me by.I quickly rushed into the car.I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins as I drove the car at high speed.
"Step on it bro!!!" Peter screamed as we drove very close to the highest speed limit,at a point,I felt we would crash.
"You're wild ,you know that bro?" I teased him as we got to my place.
"You have not seen wild Luca,what until you see me at a party" he bragged.
"Ohh really?"
"Yeah bro,as a matter of fact, I'll be having a party at my place tonight by 8,I'll come pick you up, sounds good?"
How do I tell him that my parents forbids me from leaving the house once it's seven.
Daywalkers were being hunted all over the continent,it was risky for any of us to go around at night.
"I don't know peter,we have school tomorrow"
"Give me your phone" he took my phone and inputted his number on it.
"Call me if you change your mind "
He pecked me on the cheek unexpectedly as I alighted from the car.
I stood there transfixed,the urge was there again, I could hear his heartbeat as it synchronized with mine,I wanted to have him,not sexual,but all of him,I could feel my fangs pulling out.
"Bye Luca " he blew a kiss into the air as he drove off.
What am I going to do?I can't afford to repeat the mistake I made three years ago, maybe I should talk to mom?.
