Turning around to the sudden noise I see the open jaws of another cyan lizard about to chomp down on me.
Just like earlier, I can feel everything slow down. Dozens of thoughts shooting through my mind.
'Where the hell did another lizard come from?! How did I not hear it until now? Was I too distracted to even hear it!? It's too close! I can't raise my spear in time!' Trying to think of a way to not get caught by the lizard, the only thing I can do is slightly move my body to try to dodge the chomp.
'It's not enough! I'm going to die!' I scream internally to myself, feeling immense dread filling my being. Trying to think of a way to escape the jaws of death in this slowed time.
Going through everything I know, I can't find a solution. I just need to dodge the bite in a way that it won't kill me instantly! That's all I need! I just need to…
…!
Instantly I shout something in my mind.
'I WANT TO SEE THAT LIZARD'S STATS!'

Hearing the robotic voice go off in my mind I twist my body as much as I can to dodge the chomp. Immediately I can tell the lizard's vision is thrown off when the chomp goes off course from directly biting me. But even with this change I still can't completely dodge the lizard due to how close it is.
CHOMP*
Involuntarily I let out a painful scream when the lizard's teeth chomps down on my already injured arm. Using my free arm that's holding the spear I stab down towards the lizard's head hoping it will let go.
Clang*
But it bounces right off the lizard's head doing no damage. Not even stunning it in the slightest.
"JOEY!!" While trying to fight off the lizard I can hear Inv's scream pierce my ears.
Quickly losing strength, the lizard starts shaking its head with its teeth clamped down on my arm, making the pain even worse.
'D-damn it… I can't…' feeling the last of my strength fade I feel my body grow limp.
Sensing me not fighting back anymore the lizard's tail starts thrumming. Most likely to jump back up through the opening to drag me back to its den. But before the lizard can finish…
BAM*
Something crashes right into the lizard's head, letting me go in the process. With newfound freedom I try to stand up to make distance but fail miserably. Not able to lift my body up, I can only turn towards where the lizard is.
WHOOSH*
What I see is the lizard going headfirst into the wall nearby. Picking itself up almost immediately I see it shaking its head, even trying to use its small stubby arms to scratch at its face, as if trying to get something out of its eyes…
'Heh, looks like it actually worked…' I mumble to myself as I feel excruciating pain traveling through my entire arm. I don't even want to know what state it's in right now. The injury from the dropwig added onto the lizard's chomp. I think it's safe to say that my arm won't be working as well as it did before…
The lizard's efforts of clearing its vision are short lived when Inv jumps right onto it. With a quick motion Inv opens his mouth wide and chomps down on the lizard's neck. Hearing a sick noise of flesh tearing, I see Inv rip a good portion of the lizard's throat out. Spitting out the chunk of flesh Inv's head snaps towards me.
Amongst the gurgle noises of the lizard choking on its own blood, Inv jumps off the dying lizard and runs right over to me.
"JOEY!! IM SORY! IM SORY! D-d-don mov i-i wil…" Inv seeing the state I'm in starts going into a panic. I don't blame him; I can feel blood oozing out of my arm at this point. If I don't do anything about this soon, I might die of blood loss…
"I-Inv, calm down… w-worrying won't help…" I stutter out while trying to sit myself up. Fighting off the pain I can feel my body starting to grow cold, a sign that isn't good.
Inv try's his best to not show any further signs of panicking but I can tell he's barely able to keep it in.
"W-wut du we do Joey???" Inv asks with an extremely worried look, his skin completely black.

'Fuck… what do we do? I've never been this injured before and tried to survive… if I ever got to a point like this before, I would just let myself die… but this isn't an option anymore. I need to try my best to survive.'
Desperately I look around us for anything. Trying my best to remember, if I'm right, in Inv's campaign wasn't this room also a scavenger treasury?
Turning my head, I can see the glowing area where the treasury should be. With my vision slowly starting to blur I can't make out what is over there.
'D-damn it… not yet…' I fight off the growing desire to fall asleep.
"I-Inv, over there, bring me any items lying over there…" I weakly say to Inv. pointing a shaky finger towards the lit area.
"O-ok!" in a shaky voice, Inv quickly runs over to the area.
While Inv goes over to get the items I try my best to stay awake. I need to stay awake.
Looking around the best I can through my blurry vision I see something next to me I didn't see before until now…
'A… mushroom?'
Seeing the mushroom, I reach for it. I've eaten these things a few times since being thrown into this world. Compared to how they are in the game the mushrooms here have a much greater effect.
It doesn't only increase one's reaction time and speed, but almost everything. These things would be considered a wonder drug back in my world. Sped up thinking, more strength, faster speed. People would pop this shit any chance they could. The only downside to it being extreme exhaustion once the effects wore off.
Thankfully instead of lasting only a small amount of time like in the game. The effect lasts much longer here. Lasting about 20 minutes roughly.
Putting the mushroom in my mouth I start quickly chewing. The taste is awful but I keep chewing.
Swallowing the mushroom I can feel an immediate boost in clarity, clearing my foggy mind, vision and exhaustion away. But I know this is only temporary, the moment the effects wear off I will probably pass out right away. In a moment like this however I need every second I can get.
With this temporary newfound strength I look over to See Inv running back, holding several items in his arms.

A/N: I feel it would be pretty common to get injured in a world like Rain World. with no real medicine available in a world like this wouldn't you basically be screwed if you got sick or injured in any way?
