Chapter 1 - The war against the Outers(ONESHOT)

The sky was dyed twilight as the war went on, streaks of purple lighting crashed down evaporating anything it lands on. There was nothing on the ground expect rocks, decayed trees, and people fighting eldritch beings, centuries upon centuries old .

One such person was fighting a tall being, composed of fleshly-black material, and had countless eyes and tentacles spread across its tall body, with a mouth with rows and rows of sharp black teeth each glistening with some sort of liquid. Any sane person would have long gone insane yet this person was still fighting it with no signs of insanity, instead the creature had multiple surface level wounds and was getting angrier it was wounded.

The being shot the liquid out its mouth with the force of their anger, aiming to hit the person, but they were faster and barely dogged it, some of the liquid got onto their body and it began burning away. The person let out a low growl but kept moving.

The being seeing the liquid get on the person laughed, a low, haunted laugh that sends chills down a person spine. It had finally gotten a hit of and it could not be happier.

The person shot across the battlefield, the rocks and decayed trees zipped on by him as he got closer to the creature. The being instinctively shot multiple of their tentacles forwards to pierce the person. The person seeing the tentacles coming only sped up, as they got close to him, he began countering and parrying them.

DING! DING! DUD! DING! DING!

The tentacles slammed into him with unimageable strength, it caused him to stumble a bit, which the monster took as a chance and shot more tentacles at him, With the tentacles he parried coming back and more tentacles inbound, the person aimed himself at the monster and with heaven defying strength shot towards the monster, leaving behind a white trail and blasting away the tentacles.

The creature tried to use a mental technique on the person yet it was blocked, so it shot more liquid and more liquid out of its mouth, causing the sky to be covered in liquid, towards the person, who quickly dodged all of that and was now in front of the creature.

They aimed their sword and thrusted forward with all their might, the creature wanted to stop this, so it split but it was too late.

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!

A large mushroom cloud erupted from the spot the being was, the shockwave sweep across the battlefield, ripping trees from the ground and picking up rocks and throwing them. Once it settled a person is seem walking out of the blast unharmed.

The person was a 6'8 European male and had long blonde hair, a beard that would make a drawf cry, and dark blue eyes. He was wearing a red loincloth, a gold shoulder guard, a sword belt and a wide belt, a cloth-wrapped sleeve around one arm and a metal sleeve around one of his shins. He was also welding a master-crafted sword, made with the strongest materials.

"I don't see why these gods are called outer gods if they're so weak."

The man slowly made his way back to the hiding point, not before grabbing an orb of pure white, surveying the damage done so far. But he then felt danger approaching from above so he dived out of the way to see another outer god standing there.

This one was a dragon with rows and rows of teeth spreading across their body, with the surroundings distorting to fit the image of a dragon, sometimes it would fail and the person would get a glimpse of this outer's true body.

The person grinned and yelled at the outer.

"MAN, YOU AIN'T SHIIIIIIT!"

This got the Outer God pissed and it roared, a soul-shattering roar, that the person shrugged off.

"NOW THAT"S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!" The person grabbed his sword and sped towards the dragon and the dragon sped towards him too.

----------------

Once back he saw everybody was there expect Merlin, Asura, Vishnu and the rest.

"Where's the others, huh?"

Everybody turned their head to the sound and saw Commodus with blood dripping from everywhere across his body, steadily walking towards them, then siting down on a rock.

"They left with YuWon to try to see if they could beat a Outer." Hercules said

"What happened to you?" Hercules said.

"Fought one of the more stronger Outer Gods, got walked."

"How much stronger?"

"I'll say about 10-20% more stronger than the ones we fought."

Commodus put down a white orb in front of everyone, this orb radiated with a light so bright it nearly blinded one of the gods.

"This is the Outer I fought."

The surrounding gods where shocked, they felt the power radiating off of that orb, then they looked back at Commodus.

"Who's the asshole though?" Son OhGong said

"{{The One Who Devours}}."

"You...killed that?" Hercules said, in disbelief.

"Yeah, also I killed another one."

Commodus put down another orb, this one noticeably more weaker than the other one.

The gods were shocked again, a Inner killed 2 Outers...The mood became a little more lighter.

"HAHAHAHAHA, Take that you bastards!!" Son OhGong yelled

"Alright, calm down." Hercules said to Son OhGong.

COUGH!! COUGH!! COUGH!!

Commodus spit up blood on his hand, then turned his gaze to the other gods.

"Looks like I can't do that again."

The air once again turned somber.

CRACCCCCK!! BOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Everybody turned their head to the sound just in time to see, purple lighting strike the tower that seemed to come from the void itself. The tower resisted the bolt but cracks spread from where it was struck.

"Seems the tower won't hold much longer." Commodus said

The gods looked at the tower, their faces stuck in a gaze. Some were remembering their first kill, some their families, others their riches, and some, their journey. Yet one god was angry.

"Why do you guys look like we lost?!! I can still fight!" Son OhGong yelled with defeasance, and half of his arm gone.

"Son OhGong, we are tired." Commodus said, turning to look at Son OhGong.

"..." Son OhGong said nothing and just turned away.

The gods sat there in silence, taking in their last picture of the tower, until they heard a thud.

WOOSH!

THUD!

A orb of pure white landed on the ground and all the gods turned their head to look at it before before looking at the person who threw it.

"So you made it back." Hercules said

"I thought I was going to die." YuWon said, looking drained, and siting down on a log.

"It's....just you?"

"...Yeah."

"Merlin, Asura, Vishnu… All of them?"

"Yeah."

YuWon nodded his head.

"They're all dead."

The air soon turned somber, the gods YuWon went with were gone, swallowed up by the outers to be turn into power. The mood soon became lighter as they focused on the orb YuWon threw. They knew what this meant and they knew that 3 Outers have been killed.

"Who did you kill?" Hercules said.

"Foolish Chaos."

"What?"

"… Really? It's that guy?"

YuWon nodded his head.

"With this, I now know for a fact."

YuWon realized the cold, hard truth in his fight against the Foolish Chaos.

"An 'Inner' cannot beat an' Outer.'"

"There is no way to win."

"Then explain why I killed 2 Outers?"

Commodus spoke up, confused

"You killed 2 Outers? How?"

Commodus looked at YuWon like he was dumb "You just have to be strong enough to parry their attacks."

Everybody groaned, they forgot he was a fighting genius.

"How would you get strong enough to do that?" YuWon asked half serious, half joking

The old man who was sitting in the corner spoke.

"By rewinding time."

He stretched out his hand to reveal a clock's internal mechanics in his palm.

Chronos's Clock Movement

YuWon asked while staring at the old man, Chronos, "Is this the only way?"

"Return to an old world line. And start over."

"If possible, I wanted to end this here."

"This was the last chance." Chronos spoke with a powerful voice, which contrasted with his hunchback and wrinkled face.

Chronos was a being that possessed the Divinity to control time. The items he crafted held powers relating to time. But…

"In the world line you will return to, I will probably have disappeared. It is a fair price to pay for the only way to go back in time and shift the world line. So do not waste your energy looking for me."

"So you will cease to exist?"

"I do not know in what form it will be, but my disappearance does not matter."

Their story had already ended, which is why YuWon wanted the fight to end here. However, the fight was a loss in the end. Now, there was no other option but to return.

"Who would-"

All of their eyes turned to Commodus.

"Now wait a minute, why me?"

"Because you entered the tower earlier than anybody else and you grew strong enough to slay Outers."

"You didn't forget, right? Beings on the upper floors are restricted in how they can intervene with the lower floors. So, in order to change the Tower, we have to start from the lower floors and go up."

"Yeah, I know."

"That's why you're our only choice."

He reached out his hand.

The Clock Movement continued to send time forward. The instructions would be registered in a person's mind as soon as they held the item.

"When you return back in time, we probably won't have the same relationship we have now. So even if I don't recognize you, just let it slide. That me really won't know who you are."

"Knock some sense into the guys who can't comprehend the situation. If all else fails, you can just kill them."

"… I hope you have a hard time, my friend."

Each gave a word to Commodus. Now that this was the final farewell, they didn't hold back.

"You guys are never short for words."

Commodus put on a smile as he gave his companions a good, final look.

After the Gods of the Other Realm appeared, they had no choice but to join forces. No one here were companions in the beginning. Some were antagonistic, hostile, and even aimed for each other's throats.

But everything was different now.

Recollecting, it seemed impossible.

'They were all very bull-headed…'

Tick-tock—

He was already filled with determination. He wondered if he'd be able to gather all these idiots together in one place after returning to the past. If they'd be able to fight the beings from the Other World, if they could win this fight…

If he'd be able to change everything for the better.

Tick-tock—

The Clock Movement started moving backwards.

'I guess I'm going to have a hard time.'

Within Commodus's field of vision, countless clock mechanisms started moving backwards.
