Nora's POV
I double the tarp over and secure it across the air vent with heavy-duty staples. Stepping away from the wall, I examine my handiwork. "This should block out every bit of sunlight," I announce. "Want to run a test?"
"Close yourself inside and create an energy orb," James instructs from outside the shed. "If any glow seeps through the cracks, we'll patch them up."
I nod and pull the door shut behind me. After waiting a moment for my eyes to adjust to the darkness, I concentrate and summon a sphere of brilliant white light in my palm. The energy pulses steadily for several heartbeats before I extinguish it and emerge from the makeshift prison.
"How did we do?" I ask.
"Perfect. Not even a glimmer escaped." James gives an approving nod. "Toss another tarp over him for extra insurance." He hoists the still-unconscious vampire and dumps him unceremoniously onto the shed's dirt floor.
