Nora's POV
"This stain isn't coming out, is it?" I stare down at my ruined shirt, grimacing at the dark splatters across the fabric. "Of course I didn't wear black tonight."
I peel the bloodstained shirt over my head carefully, trying not to smear any of the mess across my face. The metallic scent makes my stomach turn. "Guess this is going straight to the trash." I roll the shirt tightly, keeping the worst of the vampire blood contained inside, then stuff it deep into the kitchen garbage. I tie the bag shut and double-bag it, making sure no trace of that distinctive smell can escape.
My jeans are next, and thankfully these might survive. I carry them to the laundry room and rinse them thoroughly in the utility sink before tossing them into the washing machine. Standing there in just my bra and underwear, I pad barefoot up the stairs toward the bathroom.
