Nora's POV
The sound of War battering against our protective barriers fills the night air with a bone-chilling screech. This time, James can hear it too. Zerra drops into an attack position, muscles coiled and ready to strike. Mack materializes beside me in his imposing black spirit form, towering protectively over us both. Rhianna and Evangeline pace frantically along the front of the house, working desperately to keep the dark energy from seeping through our defenses.
I sweep my hands in a wide circle, channeling my power. "Silentium." The spell creates a protective cone of silence around us. I pray it will prevent Leonard from eavesdropping on whatever we're about to discover.
James's eyes blaze with urgent intensity. "Get upstairs to the attic. Lock yourself in and seal it with magic. Call your dad or Kevin. You need to leave, Nora. Now."
"You're coming with me."
