Nora's POV
I lean back against the couch cushions and prop my swollen feet on the coffee table, wincing as my lower back throbs with a dull ache.
"Let me break down why Leonard despises me so much. He hired the Horsemen to eliminate me, but they failed to deliver on their contract since I'm still breathing. So if we can convince Leonard that I'm planning an attack against him, he'll dispatch the Horsemen to intercept me."
"Damn it, I hate admitting this plan might actually succeed," James mutters darkly. "But you're not going anywhere near demons or Horsemen until after our daughter arrives. The risk is too great for both of you."
"Of course not," I reply hastily. "This strategy requires me to have complete control over my abilities. Besides, I can barely see past this belly right now, much less outrun supernatural killers."
