Third Person POV. -- 9th Of October -- 2415 --
[ Gakushūin Junior High -- Hinode City ]
It's the following day after Benihana Retsu's admission into the prestigious school, and today is the day she will officially be attending classes.
It's the morning of the following day, precisely being 08:00 am in the morning.
In front of the school gates, a sleek black car comes to a stop. The driver of the car, –a woman in her mid-twenties and wearing a black suit, comes out of the driver's seat before she goes and opens the back door, letting her young lady step out of the vehicle.
Benihana Retsu is seen exiting the vehicle while wearing her school uniform with the mid-thigh, pleated skirt and standard short-sleeved school top in the primary colors of brown and black, along with a red tie tied around her neck that would stretch all the way down her chest area.
She also has skin tight black stockings to keep her legs warm in the cool weather,
Because of the cool season, she also has a light coat over her uniform to protect her from the cold,
Her long hair is tied neatly behind her in a loose braid, managing to reach all the way to the middle levels of her back, along with loose strands falling in front of her face.
Behind her, she is carrying a standard black backpack, like all the other kids who are currently seen walking inside the school.
"Have a great day, my lady. " Her driver bows with her white gloved hands in front of her stomach, before she turns and gets inside the car, starting the engine and drive away.
Retsu turns her head back towards the school, seeing the 5 story building in the primary colors of black and brown, –the same colors as her own uniform, and she begins walking in.
A few steps in and she gets a sense of dejavu...
Suddenly a pair of hands come from behind her, covering her eyes before a sweet, familiar voice is heard. "Guess whoooo~"
Retsu brings a hand on the ones covering her eyes, prying them free before she turns around with a smile on her face,
"Himiko-chan, good morning. "
"Good morning! You're finally coming to school i see~" She says in a sing song voice, smiling wide and letting her fangs show,
"Yeah, it seems i couldn't run away from it after all. " Retsu let's out a light sigh, before the duo begin walking in.
Behind the duo, a set of curious and 'unnatural' looking eyes follow their form.
Himiko and Retsu enter the school building, changing from their outside boots to inside wears provided by the school, before stepping foot on the polished wooden floors of the indoor corridors.
They start walking through the halls, their destination being the same class that they share.
Once before it's door, they enter the classroom, before going and sitting besides each other, on the front seats in the left most corner of the class, right besides the windows.
Himiko takes the front seat, with Retsu right behind her. They put down their backpacks before Himiko turns around, "So, what was it like operating on others? Did you see a lot of blood during treatments? " She enthusiastically asks, her eyes wide in wonder.
"Not most of the time no. A lot of times i just put them inside of my cocoon of blood, so i didn't look at their blood with my own eyes much. " Retsu replies, making Himiko giddy in her spot.
"Bet you saw a lot of different blood types then! " She says, before silently whispering, "I wonder how they would have tasted like... "
"They would most likely taste like rusted metal.
I understand your fascination of the substance, but I'll never get how you can tell the difference between their tastes. Is your taste buds somehow enhanced by your quirk too? " Retsu says, putting a hand under her chin in quiet contemplation.
"Anyways, how is your training going? Do you eat nutrients enough like i told you to? I did promise it would help in your physique immensely didn't i? " Retsu asks, making Himiko nod with a smile on her face.
"Mhm! I did! And it's actually showing like you said! Look, " She stands up, "see the difference? My height has soared a little from my previous one, now i stand at 155 (5'1 ft)
I just checked it this morning too! " She enthusiastically says, and then waits for Retsu to...
"There there, "... Give her a pat on the head,
–which she does, making Himiko smile more in happiness.
As the duo are conversing with one another, the class room doors are opened again, letting a unique looking girl with another 2 girls following her to enter the class.
The trio pause in their conversation when they see Retsu and Himiko, before the unique, pink skinned girl smiles wide and jumps forward, "woah! A new friend? Himiko-chan you didn't tell me your new friend was coming to school?? "
That's right, the person who is now walking towards Retsu, her unique yellow eyes with black scleras wide in wonder as she looks at her enthusiastically, is none other than Ashido Mina, the same onefrom the future Class 1A.
She is a character from the series Retsu watched in her second life, and the first ever person she knew without meeting them in person in this world.
Once before the duo, Mina extends her pink colored hand, her nails manicured in a light turquoise color. "I'm Ashino Mina! But my friends just call me Mina! Nice to meet you! " She says,
"Benihana Retsu, it's a pleasure. " Retsu accepts the hand shake, "i like what you've done with your Finger nails, the color suits you. " She adds, getting a wide smile from the pink girl,
"Thanks! If you want, i can do yours too! " She says, getting a nod from Retsu, "Maybe later. "
Behind Mina, her two friends arrive at the gathering, before one of them recognizes Retsu, "hey! Aren't you the miracle doctor? The one at the incident a few days back at Kiyashi Shopping Mall? "
Hearing the question, Retsu looks at the girl and smiles, "that's right, " She tilts her head, "what about it? "
"N-nothing! I-its just that, you were so cool back there! I saw some of the footages from the news! You were so strong to be able to defeat a villain like that! " She says, making the other girl, –a short Camel brown haired one perk up, "yeah! The moves you did! You were totally like a pro!
Plus, i bet you're going to UA aren't you! With a quirk like yours, I'm sure you'd enter the top 10 in no time! " She says, making Himiko and Mina turn to look at Retsu,
Retsu tilts her head slightly, her eyes closed and smiling, "oh, UA high? We'll see i guess, " She says, not elaborating further.
"Ne ne! You think you could teach me those moves too? Some of them looked like you were dancing! And I'm a fan of dancing! I have some pretty good moves too that i could teach you if you want! " Mina says, and before Retsu can elaborate, she is hugged from behind.
"No way! Retsu-chan is my best friend and she is going to only teach me! " Himiko says, somehow having gotten behind Retsu without the other three girls noticing.
She is currently hugging Retsu from behind, having a pout and creased brows on her face.
Retsu takes hold of Himiko's hands, "calm yourself, Himiko-chan. I'm not being stolen from you or anything. We're just going to expand our circle of friends here. " She says, making Himiko reluctantly let her go, –before the pouting girl looks at Mina, "promise me you won't steal her away from me! " She points at Mina's face, making the Pink Girl sweat drop,
"I-i promise? " she questions more than states,
After a few seconds of silence, Himiko smiles brightly, as if she was examining Mina and she just passed her test or something, "alright! Then i guess our circle of friends has expanded! " Himiko throws her hands up, as if celebrating a victory.
By then, other students have started filling into the class and, after a few minutes homeroom will start.
Mina and her friends turn to go and take their seats too, leaving behind Retsu and Himiko to their own devices.
Minutes after that and the sliding door is opened before Mrs. Yamada walks in. There is a visible aura of joy and happiness around her, leading to the class getting curious.
What could have their elder teacher so excited? The class questions, with the brave Mina raising her hand.
"Good morning Yamada Sensei! You look especially enthusiastic today. What's the occasion?" Her voice is visibly louder, courtesy of her Teacher's hearing problems. She wants her teacher to hear her after all,
but...
"Lower your voice, Ashido-san. No need to yell anymore. As for me, I'm just happy today because I've actually had my hearing problems sorted out. Now i can hear you or anyone else perfectly fine without you guys yelling." She informs, making the class suddenly start getting loud,
"What! No way! " "How did you cure it sensei??!" "Wow! Congrats sensei! I'm so happy for you!" "Now we'll have to be even quieter in the back seats to not get noticed... "
The last part comes from the mouth of a guy in the back, leading to Mrs. Yamada looking their way, "I heard that! "

"Sigh, you guys will be the death of me someday... Anyways, some of you may have already realized this, –and i know it's mid semester right now, but we have a new student among ourselfs, " She looks at Retsu, "dear, why don't you introduce yourself? "
Retsu gets up from her seat, walking towards the front of the class, and on her way she catches quite a few gazes,
"wow, she's so tall and pretty... " "I'm so jealous, " "She's so pretty. You think i have a shot at dating her? "
Retsu ignores the commentary and just gets in front of the class, before she starts introducing herself.
"Hello everyone, my name is Benihana Retsu.
I am 12 years old, My birthday being in January First, my favourite food is anything that has a strong flavour to it.
I look forward to being with you until the end of middle school. " She gives a curt bow, managing to impress the class with how formal she sounds, as well as the mature vibes she gives off with her demeanor and way of talking.
Retsu straightens again, before turning to her teacher, "is that all? " She asks, getting a nod from Mrs. Yamada, "yes, you may go to your seat now, dear. "
Once Retsu is seated, she gets her shoulder poked from behind, "psst! You were so formal back there... " Himiko says,
"That's just how i am, Himiko-chan. " She says, getting a hum of approval from behind her,
"yea you are, "
After her introduction, begins today's lessons, with Mrs. Yamada starting from where they left off from yesterday. And so, the day passes.

Later when break comes around, Retsu's seat gets overrun by her classmates, all asking her different stuff.
Anything ranging from compliments about her height, To other things like what her quirk may be,
Retsu answers the questions she wants, but dodges those she doesn't want to disclose, all the while these 12 year olds stay clueless.
When lunch comes around, Retsu and Himiko go outside to eat, –something they've done since kindergarten.
The outside of the school building is a big, forested area with a lot of cross outdoor dining tables scattered around, and the duo chooses one under the shades of tree branches before they sit down and bring out their lunch boxes.
Minutes after they sit, Mina and her friends also come around with mina stepping forth to ask them, "do you guys mind if we sit too? "
"Ye-" "No, go on ahead. " Retsu says, leading to Mina smiling and sitting down with her friends.
Once sat down, the 5 of them chat about random stuff as they enjoy their lunch, –mostly about fashion or hero aesthetics, because that is what this world is about at the end of the day, Heroes.
Lunch is 40 minutes so, after the timer runs out they go back to class in order to continue with their studies.
As the day passes, Retsu idly thinks to herself, 'this may not be so bad after all,
atleast it isn't kindergarten... ' her classmates don't bother her much, –except for that initial first time of them crowding her seat. But after that, they haven't bothered her since.
She is having a great time with Himiko, with Mina also slowly opening her old heart, managing to shove herself inside it with the constant enthusiasm and energy thatshe's expelling every second,
Overall... It was a pretty quiet and peaceful first day of school for the young Retsu.
But there is a saying, if you have too good of a time, expect for something different to happen to you soon enough...

The scene opens in a barren land, –a place full of dead and graying vegetation. Twigs that are coming out of cracked soils, –as if the hands of the dying mother earth, trying to reach for the sky, but can never reach that hoziron...
The sky of this place is painted blood red, with no Sun or Moon in sight, no celestial body to give the place warmth or light.
In the distance, one can see a tiny mountain, but as one moves closer and closer, –hundreds of Kilometers forward, that tiny mountain begins to expand.
It grows, becomes bigger, wider, and taller.
Until one finally gets before it's foot, finally being able to see the mountain for what it truely is,
Corpses. All of it. Ranging from children, to the oldest of oldests. Male to Female, it doesn't matter.
All of it, stacked over each other, reaching the high heavens and making this mountain sillouette. A mountain of corpses.
Before this gigantic, apocalyptic of a mountain, is a figure.
Standing right in front of this mountain of corpses, her Long black silky hair reaching all the way at her lower waist, her dead, calm and red eyes looking up at the mountain of corpses, her 159 cm (5'2 ft) sillouette shrouded under a black hakama, over it being a white haori, with a symbol at its back.
As this lonely figure is gazing up, looking towards the mountain of corpses, suddenly she hears a voice from beside her.
There is a new figure who has materialized right beside her. This one is shrouded under a black hood, hiding his identity completely,
His height reaches way farther than the first figure's, being at 230 cm (7'6 ft) of a gigantic proportion.
His figure suggests he is packed to the bone, being very wide, and his voice that he speaks with, suggests many things,
"Soon my dear. Soon we shall be reunited. " The male figure says, his voice very deep and, figuratively talking with the one beside him,
But the feminine one, the Unohana Retsu lookalike, doesn't acknowledge his words at all,
Instead, her bloodred eyes are looking at the mountain, at the corpses she's slain over her life time,
As the bigger figure turns to walk away, he suddenly stops, hearing the female one finally speaking after such a long time,
"Retsu... " Her dead eyes gain a little light, her form glitching a little, before it gets set back to the way it is...
To the way it's been molded...
"..."
The bigger figure doesn't talk again, he turns and vanishes from his spot, the sound that his movement makes being very familiar...
"..."
Now left alone, the female figure, –a replica of Unohana Retsu in all but the red eyes, closes those said irises, and turns into red particles as she too vanishes away, leaving behind the barren land, and the mountain of corpses behind...

Author's note/ FINALLY! A reasonable word count in a chapter! I am so happy right now!

Moving on, what the hell is going on at the end of the chapter? Who the hell are these two? Where in the world is this barren land anyway?!?
