Chapter 66 - Heading to the Arknights World — Suppressing Reunion Movement

Looking at the two items before him, An Xora couldn't help but draw in a sharp breath.

A potential-awakening monster cell and a limit-breaking serum—if both truly had no side effects, then together they were practically an infinite leveling cheat.

Even if they only worked on beings below God level, that was still essentially a direct pass to top-tier strength. By the power-scaling logic An Xora was familiar with from his past life, if these two items were used repeatedly, they could stack someone all the way to the peak of Dragon-level, roughly equivalent to Tatsumaki, the Tornado of Terror, in the original story.

Absolutely outrageous.

An Xora never imagined that less than half a month after arriving in the One Punch Man world, Mebius would already produce something this broken.

"Under normal circumstances, they definitely can't be used infinitely," Mebius said, as if seeing through An Xora's thoughts.

"The monster cell and limit-breaking serum you see here are special versions that I refined through a second round of improvements. Producing just one set requires a tremendous amount of time and effort."

"As for the standard stabilized monster cells and limit-breaking serums," she continued,

"those are easy to make and can be mass-produced. However, without my second-stage improvements, each individual can only use them once."

"So naturally, the higher the user's innate potential and the stronger their base strength, the better the results."

"For ordinary people with little potential, even after consuming the improved monster cell and limit-breaking serum, their strength would probably only rise to Tiger-level. In Hero Association terms, that's roughly top B-rank to mid–high A-rank."

Hearing this, An Xora nodded.

"That's still incredibly impressive. Mass-producing Tiger-level combat power—even as cannon fodder, that's already a considerable force. And that's the result when used on people with the worst potential."

"If it were used on races that already have higher potential and stronger foundations…"

An Xora's thoughts drifted to the Terrans of the Arknights world, the adventurers of DanMachi, and the sorcerers of the Jujutsu world.

If those people used the improved monster cells and limit-breaking serums—even the mass-produced versions—the results would likely be terrifying.

He looked up at Mebius and saw the same glint of interest in her eyes. Clearly, she was thinking along similar lines.

In that case—

"Why don't we test the effects in another world?" An Xora suggested.

Honestly, he didn't want to stay in the One Punch Man world a second longer. Seeing hulking monsters baring their teeth every day was exhausting. He'd much rather go somewhere else and feast his eyes on some beautiful girls.

And when it came to beautiful girls, among the four worlds he currently had access to, Arknights stood out the most.

Sure, it was chaotic—but the sheer number of kemonomimi made it worth it. After having his eyes assaulted by bizarre monsters for half a month straight, An Xora desperately needed some fluffy-eared girls to cleanse his soul.

"Since it's the master's invitation, I don't mind collecting experimental data from another world," Mebius replied lightly.

"So—which world are we going to?"

"Arknights."

An Xora answered without hesitation.

"Mm, that works," Mebius nodded.

"That world does have quite a few races that interest me. But before we go, I'll need to make some preparations."

Several hours later.

The Arknights world.

Ursus tundra — outskirts of a village.

Stepping through the portal, An Xora and Mebius were instantly transported from the research base to a frozen wasteland where icy winds howled across the land.

The frigid environment posed little issue for either of them now. However, aside from the climate, the locals didn't seem particularly welcoming either.

"Who are you?!"

Shieldguards patrolling outside the village—marching in formation, carrying shields, and clad in thick protective gear—shouted the moment they spotted An Xora and Mebius suddenly appear.

Hearing the warning, other patrol members quickly rushed over, forming a standoff.

"Are these people Reunion Movement?" An Xora asked.

Judging by the environment, he and Mebius were almost certainly on the frozen plains of Ursus. Although the group before them was sizable, aside from the initial Shieldguards, the rest showed little discipline. Their weapons were a mismatched assortment.

Calling them Ursus government troops or official guards would be a stretch. Far more likely—they were Reunion.

After all, according to the original setting, Ursus government forces weren't exactly known for patrolling the outskirts of small villages.

"First we showed up in an alley in the One Punch Man world," An Xora muttered.

"And now in Arknights, we've spawned directly in front of the locals' faces."

As the Reunion members subtly moved to surround them, faint blue lightning crackled around An Xora's hand. In the next instant, several bolts of lightning slammed down.

Immediately—including the Shieldguards—every Reunion member who had approached lost the ability to resist and collapsed to the ground.

The commotion shattered the village's fragile calm. More Reunion members poured out from inside to see what was happening.

"So, what do we do next?" An Xora asked Mebius.

Mebius shook her head.

"What else can we do? Since we've already started, we might as well go all the way. Conveniently enough, there are two experimental subjects in Reunion that I'm rather interested in."

As she spoke, Mebius activated her power. Deep green spikes materialized out of thin air and shot into the crowd, triggering violent explosions.

Inside the village, within a ramshackle wooden building barely capable of blocking out the cold—

A woman with short white hair, dressed in military attire, radiating a strong and heroic presence—Talulah—had been worrying over Reunion's supply situation for the coming days.

Hearing the disturbance from outside the village, the draconic woman immediately stood up and rushed out.

"What's going on?"

Outside, FrostNova and Patriot, who had also emerged upon hearing the noise, both shook their heads.

"It seems… there are intruders…"

"They're very strong… be careful…"

Patriot's hoarse voice spoke in broken fragments.

"Could it be that the Ursus military discovered we're resting in this abandoned village and came to wipe us out?" Talulah's expression tightened as a grim possibility crossed her mind.

Without hesitation, she headed toward the source of the noise outside the village.

FrostNova and Patriot were about to follow—

When suddenly, an explosion roared from outside and surged straight into the village.

BOOM!!!

Talulah, who had just rushed out, was flung back at even greater speed—slammed by a massive green spectral claw that had manifested out of thin air. She crashed through the building she'd just left, reducing it to rubble.

A soft, amused voice followed.

"My dear little test subject… where do you think you're going?"
