Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Aaron's black car stopped right in front of a towering mansion, illuminated by garden lights that reflected luxury in every corner. Miko turned off the engine and got out first, his face as alert as ever.

The back door opened. Miko quickly grabbed the door handle and opened it wide.

"Let me carry the girl, sir," he said respectfully.

Aaron didn't answer. Instead, he got out of the car, cradling the strange woman in his arms. His jaw was set, his eyes cold but focused. With careful steps, he stepped into the mansion, followed by Miko, who followed a few paces behind him.

Inside the mansion, the maids were already lined up neatly to greet the homeowner, as was their unchanging routine.

"Good evening, sir," they greeted in unison.

Aaron didn't even look back, let alone return the greeting. He walked straight to one of the guest rooms downstairs. He opened the door with one hand, then approached the bed and slowly laid the girl down on the soft mattress.

Aaron stood by the bed, staring at the woman's pale face with an intense, searching gaze. Several seconds passed in silence before he finally spoke, without looking away.

"Call a doctor here, Miko," Aaron ordered coldly but firmly.

Miko, standing by the door, immediately nodded quickly. He understood that this order was non-negotiable. Without wasting any time, he immediately called Aaron's regular doctor.

A moment later, the mansion door open, A young man with an annoyed expression walked in, straightening his jacket.

"Can you call someone not so late at night? I don't know if I'm just about to go to bed," Hansen grumbled matter-of-factly.

Before Hansen could continue his complaint, Aaron's voice interrupted, cold and threatening. "Check her quickly, or I'll revoke your license."

In an instant, Hansen's face turned pale. His scolding vanished. He swallowed hard, knowing full well Aaron never joked about threats. Without another word, Hansen quickly opened his medical bag and approached the bed.

Dexterously, he began examining the girl, checking her pulse and blood pressure, and even opening her shirt slightly to reveal her abdomen. Hansen's frown deepened as the examination progressed.

A few minutes later, he took a deep breath and stood up straight, facing Aaron.

"Who is she? Why is she in such a dire condition?" Hansen asked, his voice now much more serious.

Aaron took a step closer.

"How is she?" he asked evenly, almost emotionless.

"She's very weak. We need to take her to the hospital," Hansen answered honestly. "She also seems to have just had surgery. Her stitches are still raw," he added.

Aaron's brows immediately furrowed. "What surgery?"

"Kidney surgery," Hansen replied. "I need to examine her further at the hospital to confirm her condition."

Hansen glanced at Aaron questioningly. "Where did you find her? Is she a victim of human trafficking?"

Aaron fell silent. His gaze returned to the girl's face. The information he had just heard swirled around in his head. Kidney surgery? Why would this teenage girl undergo such a major operation? And in such dire condition?

A few seconds passed before Aaron finally spoke.

"Mik, call an ambulance now," he ordered suddenly, his tone firm and without room for argument.

Miko nodded quickly and immediately turned to carry out the order. But inside, confusion began to rise. He had never seen Aaron show such concern for a stranger, let alone a girl they didn't even know.

Meanwhile, Aaron remained standing there, staring at the girl in silence. For the first time, his mind was filled with unusual questions, and for some reason, he felt like tonight's events would drag him into something far greater than simply helping a stranger.

Miko stood by the door, glancing briefly at Aaron, who hadn't moved from near the bed. His master's face looked tired, dark circles clearly visible under his eyes. He knew Aaron's schedule the next day would be very busy.

"The ambulance will be here soon, sir. You'd better get some rest. I'll take care of her," Miko said thoughtfully.

Aaron paused for a moment, looking at the girl for the last time that night. Something was bothering him, but exhaustion eventually won out.

"Okay," he said curtly.

He then stepped out of the guest room, leaving Miko and Hansen alone with the girl.

As soon as the door closed, Hansen, who had been suppressing his curiosity, immediately approached Miko. His gaze shifted to the girl's body on the bed, then back to Miko's face.

"Who is she, really? Where did you find her? Why does Aaron seem so concerned?" Hansen asked matter-of-factly.

Miko took a deep breath before answering.

"We found her on the road on our way home," he said briefly but honestly.

Hansen nodded slowly, still processing the answer. A few seconds later, Miko asked back, his voice filled with worry.

"Is her condition very serious?"

Hansen glanced at the girl again.

"I think so. But I can't answer for sure until I examine her further at the hospital," he replied.

The curious look on Hansen's face lingered. "What's her name? Did you find her ID?"

Miko shook his head slowly. "We didn't find anything. That's why we decided to bring her here."

Hansen fell silent. Question after question raced through his mind, while the faint sound of an ambulance siren began to wail in the distance, signaling that the long night wasn't truly over, and that the mystery surrounding the girl had only just begun.

The ambulance stopped right in front of Aaron's mansion. The sound of its brakes shattered the still silence of the early morning. The ambulance's rear door opened, and two paramedics got out, carrying a stretcher. Miko, who had been on guard, immediately stepped forward, motioning for them to enter the mansion.

After being invited, the paramedics moved quickly but cautiously. The girl's body was gently lifted and placed on the stretcher. Her face looked pale, her eyes still closed as if she were in a deep sleep, showing no signs of waking up anytime soon.

"Be careful," Hansen said anxiously as he watched them lift the girl's body.

His gaze never left her face, as guilt and worry mingled in his chest.

A few minutes later, the medical team returned, carrying the stretcher to the ambulance. The back door closed tightly, and the engine started up again. The ambulance sped away, leaving Aaron's mansion grounds once again silent.

Hansen and Miko quickly followed, each in their own car, following the ambulance as it moved swiftly through the still-empty streets.

Mean while, from the balcony, Aaron stood watching the convoy slowly with draw through the main gate. His eyes were blank, his body visibly exhausted. He intended to close his eyes, hoping to rest his mind for a moment. However, the still-loud sound of the ambulance siren pierced his ears. It was then that he realized he had forgotten to turn on the sound proofing in his room.
