Chapter 3 - Begining Of The Conflict

Elian woke up on his bed, lying flat on his back with his back facing the ceiling. Using both hands, he propped up his body to get out of bed and immediately drank the potion placed on the table beside him.

After drinking the potion, Elian open his status screen.

"I think my injuries have improved quite a bit. Maybe in a week or less, the Minor Injured status will disappear."

Yesterday, after receiving his punishment, Elian ordered Finn to provide him with as many healing potions as possible and also instructed him to gather information about abandoned temples nearby. His goal was to search for remnants of gods whose abilities were suitable for his advancement to Sequence 8.

In the game, most events usually began at the start of the month. Judging by the timing, Elian had about twenty-nine days before Arc 1 began. With this confidence, Elian quickly cleaned himself up and left the dormitory for the classroom.

As he walked through the corridor, some people looked at Elian with disdain, while others quickly turned away, unwilling to meet his gaze. After all, Elian was feared by commoners, while nobles felt disgusted being associated with someone like him.

The school consisted of Classes 1 through 6, with Elian currently in Class 1, Semester 1. Each class had ranks from F to S, each containing thirty students. Elian was in Class C, which could be considered a trash class. The reason was simple—most students in Class C were incompetent nobles who had managed to enroll due to their status. Most of them would be demoted to Class F by the end of the semester.

Elian entered the classroom just before the bell rang. He quickly chose a seat at the back near the window to enjoy the scenery. He didn't care whose seat it was; after all, in this class, Elian held the highest noble status as a descendant of a marquis.

Moments later, a male teacher with a bald head and glasses entered the room. He scanned the surroundings before his gaze stopped on Elian.

"Elian Arcadia, you skipped classes all day yesterday. Can you explain yourself?"

Hearing his name called, Elian immediately stood up and turned his attention to the teacher. "I ran into some trouble and had to deal with the student council. I understand my mistake and won't repeat it. I hope you won't prolong the issue and will focus on teaching the class."

Although his words sounded arrogant, the teacher ignored it and immediately began the lesson. He knew Elian's temperament well and didn't want to waste time on him. The earlier reprimand was merely his duty as Elian's instructor.

The class continued with the teacher explaining topics related to sequence compatibility and the probability of completing a sequence path in order to choose another sequence—knowledge Elian already understood extremely well.

However, this world was incredibly complex, and every choice could affect one's growth. Suppose Elian were fortunate enough to encounter a god who could grant him an omniscient fate at Sequence 8—would he make a contract with such a god?

A fool might choose yes, but in reality, one had to become truly omniscient to advance to Sequence 7, which was practically impossible. Moreover, some gods were not generous enough to grant fate for free. That was why fallen gods were the best choice, as he could perform rituals to steal their fate.

When the break bell rang, Elian immediately left the classroom to search for someone who could save him in Arc 1. As he headed toward the cafeteria, many students were running as if attracted by something. Elian ran toward the crowd and saw Finn and Reinhard arguing at its center.

"Why did you injure him so severely in an ordinary match? Haven't you had enough of bullying commoners?" Reinhard shouted angrily at Finn.

"What do you mean I'm bullying commoners? On the contrary, I respect you and regard you as equals. That's why I used all of my strength in the previous match," Finn replied casually, though it was clear from his expression that he was utterly contemptuous.

Yesterday, Elian had also ordered Finn and Max to bully commoners during official matches and prepared several lines of defense in case an argument broke out. Although he didn't particularly hate commoners, he needed to do this to control the situation as he intended.

"In that case, how about fighting me? I'll show you what true equality really means."

"Sorry, but I have to refuse. You're in Class S, while I'm just an ordinary student in Class B. How about you challenge Sylvia instead? I'm sure that would be a great example to demonstrate equality between nobles and commoners."

Hearing Finn's reply, Reinhard clenched his teeth in anger. Upon closer inspection, veins could clearly be seen bulging on his forehead.

Elian laughed as he watched the scene unfold. He hadn't expected Finn to perform his task far better than anticipated.

"What's all this commotion about?" A gentle yet firm voice drew everyone's attention.

From the direction of the voice, a beautiful girl with white hair and emerald-green eyes approached the crowd. When she saw Reinhard and Finn at the center, her eyes glinted with understanding.

Elian immediately checked the girl's status.

Name: Liana ArcadiaGender: FemaleAge: 14Sequence: 8Magic Power: ???Personality: KindTrait: Cheerful • Protective • Glory Hound • Family-Oriented • Stealth • Sharp Shooter

Rank: ???

Strength: ???Dexterity: ???Agility: ???Constitution: ???Intelligence: ???Wisdom: ???Charisma: ???

Elian observed Liana's status—his younger sister—and felt confused. After transmigrating into this world, Elian hadn't obtained his memories completely. According to what he had read, Liana deeply hated Elian, which contradicted her traits Family-Oriented and Protective. In the game, a character only possessed three main traits and gained additional traits as time passed. From Elian's memory, Liana's main traits were Stealth, Sharp Shooter, and Cheerful.

Could it be that in this world, Liana doesn't harbor hatred toward Elian? Given her current traits, that seems quite possible.

While Elian was lost in thought, Liana had already stepped into the center of the crowd and stood facing Finn and Reinhard.

"Lady Liana," Finn said, bowing respectfully to his superior's younger sister.

"Liana, thank goodness you're here. I hope you can stop your brother and his subordinates from behaving so tyrannically."

Liana looked at Reinhard and Finn. "What happened here?"

Before either of them could explain, Elian stepped into the crowd, startling the three of them.

"There's nothing important going on. This puppy is just making a fuss on behalf of his friend who was injured in an official match."

Elian's voice shocked the three of them. In an instant, all eyes observing the scene turned toward him.

Liana frowned, her eyes turning cold the moment she saw Elian.

Elian noticed the obvious change in Liana's expression. Even though he hadn't expected much, the sight before him still surprised him slightly. Setting aside her traits and contradictory attitude, somehow, this girl truly hated him.
