Another busy day gateway to night.
Endless smoke rose from the Ise shine enveloping the sky in a deep smog from the offerings of the day before. It scattered the moon's light making its rays shine a vidvid blue, like a ray of hope upon the world.
The gentle wind carried the sweet smell of peaches wherever it went, setting friendly and fun atmosphere among the heroes and the gathering public.
It was a new years like no other, not only because of the gathering of japan's top heroes all in one place, but also because for the first time in centuries the true Yata no Kagami would be on display under the request of the number 1 and number 2 heroes All Might and Endeavor.
In a world where evolution proved true it was common for many to disregard religion all together let alone the already declining shinto beliefs from centuries ago.But when desperate many still turn to faith. Usually that would be the quirkless, but becoming a father made Endeavor beyond imagine.
The crowds of people split apart, allowing the group of heroes to enter the out shrine first. The top ten walked with steady steps,All might leading, their heroic aura causing some in the crowd to pass out. Behind them where some lesser known heroes trying to their best to bask in this sudden public light, signing autographs and interacting with citizens.
Guided by the heroes everyone slowly entered the outer shrine area as best they could, silent as possible, considering the amount of people present.
People danced. Torches were lit. Wishes were made. And food was devoured.
When the outer rites and celebration ended, All might stood at the opening of the inner shine Peace sign in the air. HIs powerful figure giving citizens a sense of comfort for the new year.
Next to him Endeavor, The Passionate number 2 raised his fist to the air, his body radiating powerful flames that danced in the wind.
They nodded at each other before together turning and walking into the inner shrine with the others of the top ten until they eventually got to where the Yata mirror was held.
They could see it through the open temple doors glimmering with divinity after it renewal from Repairman years ago. Endeavor looked at with hunger in his eyes, not understanding the opportunity and danger his passion would release.
The moons blue light turned red in the mirrors reflection as though signaling the presence of the goddess Amaterasu and a soul in the mirror.
Endeavor blasted his beautiful orange flames in the air to announce the top ten's arrival to the shrine, it appeared like a burning sun in the sky, which in turn made the crowd shout and stomp so loud it could be heard and felt all over Japan.
" I don't know why you so vehemently wanted to visit this place Enji? You threatened the interest of Japan and sacrificed so much, I hope it's worth it." All might patted the number 2 on the shoulder." I'll convince the others to stay back so you can be alone."
Endeavor responded at first with a grunt before muttering a quick" Thank you."
Even if it was all might's fault that he had to sacrifice so much, he was the reason he could fforfil his desire. He would pray before the goddess to make sure his next child wasn't as weak and pathetic as the others.
No matter what he would surpass All might.
Climbing up the temple steps alone Endeavor, walked through the shrine's open doors and closed them behind hime, leaving only him and the Yata mirror in the room.
The silence weighed heavy on his shoulders as he stared at himself in the mirror's frame, it continued to glow with the red of the moon despite no light other than his orange flames in the room. Left alone with the sound of his breaths Endeavor couldn't help but think.
'Kami is truly here'
Placing down a Matt in front of the mirror's pedestal, he slowly began taking out his offerings. First he set down a bouquet of white chrysanthemums symbolizing his love and loyalty to her great flame.
Then, he pulled out a great feast of many delicacies, he cooked them himself spending most of his free time learning to cook and present, representing his thankfulness for her.
Finally, he put gloves on his hands and reached into a bag separate from the one carrying the other items and pulled out an egg that glowed a golden color and radiated intense nuclear energy, placing it down next to the other offerings.
It was a genetically modified three legged crow he created alongside US researchers, leaving him with little prestige after the public and world found out. And it costed him almost every cent he made since starting hero work.
But in time for his son's birth it was willed into the world. With gentle care and reverence Enji placed his lips upon the sacred beasts shell, representing the future and his respect for Kami.
Then he bowed twice.Clapped twice.Offered an old Japanese coin.Then bowed once more, lowering his head to the floor.
All the pressure from his hero days and competing with All Might leaked silently from his eyes in giant streams of tears. His blood grew hotter every second with each pump of his passionate heart.
"O Great Kami, Amaterasu Ōmikami,Radiant Ancestress, who shines upon the High Plain of Heaven and this land below—
This servant humbly speaks his name: Enji Todoroki.
With awe and gratitude, I receive the blessings granted to me—the strength of my body, the fierce flames set within my breath,and the lineage of my ancestors who have carried me to this day.
With bright heart, purity, and unyielding will,I will keep my conduct clean and my purpose straight.As one who bears the duty of a hero,I dedicate my hands and my life to the protection of people,to the peace of this land,and to the driving away of all darkness and evil that would harm the innocent.
From my heart, with makoto—true sincerity—I revere the Kami and offer thanks.May peace and divine light continue to flow through the world.
And yet, I place before you a humble request.
I am to become a father soon.Though I have sought strength all my life,I know the limits of my own power.I cannot see the future clearly,and I fear failing to protect my child.
Therefore, Amaterasu Ōmikami—I ask that you watch over my son from his first breath.If he is to inherit ice as well as my flame,then grant that his body may be protected and made harmonious,so that heat and cold do not tear him apart,and that his life may be strong and whole.
And grant to me, Enji,the strength of spirit and body to stand as his shield,to protect my household,and to protect Japan—without hesitation, without turning away.
With gratitude and reverence, I offer these words.Kashikomi kashikomi mōsu."
With his prayer finished Enji flicked his fingers, setting his offerings ablaze.
The sound of crackling flames filled the temple until every offering was burnt completely to ash in his extreme heat, after he killed the flame.
Soon Endeavor was walking out of the temple, the bounce in his steps showing new confidence and hope brought by his dealings with Kami. He walked up to All Might who had a concerned look on his face.
" Enji what did you do?! Did you put out the flame?"
" Of course I did do you think I would be so careless, why are you...?"
*Boom*
A sonic boom graced the earth sounding like the perfect culmination of all sound effects ever recorded.
Something had emerged from the Shine, putting the environment in a sweltering heat. It stood directly where Endeavor found himself moments ago, bring the celebrations to a halt.
