Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: multiverse projection

"I hope this website isn't a scam."

In a dim rental room, a young-looking boy sat in front of a computer, sighing as he registered an account.

He was a transmigrator named Saito. When he first arrived, he was quite excited, thinking he could rely on the memories and knowledge in his head to earn his first pot of gold.

And then step by step, become a winner in life.

But when he opened his computer and logged onto a search engine, he found that this world hadn't changed at all. Novels, manga, anime, movies, music—all the things he could have plagiarized already existed. Even if he wanted to copy them, he had nowhere to start.

With his dreams of making money shattered, Saito honestly returned to his old profession.

Which was being a video editor and uploader. In his past life, he was a Bilibili uploader, barely making enough to get by.

But now, he had unexpectedly received an invitation from a website.

This website was called multiverse projection. It was said to be a new site, and he was the 'first video uploader' on it.

This made Saito a bit confused. Logically, when a new website launches, it should recruit a large number of famous uploaders to join.

Simply put, they should poach people, specifically those with a large fan base, because that drives traffic. This is the most basic operation.

But they chose him. While it was confusing, it also made him suspect they had some ulterior motive.

Originally, Saito didn't want to go, but the conditions offered were too tempting.

The starving Saito couldn't refuse.

By successfully registering and uploading his first video, he could receive a creation fund.

The creation fund for the initial video release was a full ten thousand yuan.

Ten thousand yuan! With that much money, Saito could live in this shabby rental room for a long time.

And as long as he was a bit frugal with food, he wouldn't have to go out to work for over half a year.

Of course, that's what they said. Who knew if they would actually give him the money after he uploaded the video.

Saito had seen plenty of empty promises these days; he would only feel at ease once the money was actually in his hands.

To avoid being scammed, Saito made two preparations: if this website didn't work out, he would go to other major sites.

The video Saito was currently making was an 'inventory' type video.

Inventory videos are among the simplest and least technically demanding types of video editing.

This kind of video is entirely about clipping together exciting scenes and then adding some dynamic BGM. Then it's considered finished.

As for whether anyone would buy it, Saito couldn't help that.

After all, tastes differ. If people criticized his video for being poorly made, there was nothing he could do.

After being busy for a while, the video was finally finished.

Once the video was done, Saito uploaded it to the multiverse projection website. Along with a 'ding' from his phone,

Saito quickly picked up his phone and saw that an extra ten thousand yuan had appeared in his bank account!!!

"Holy crap?! Is this real?!!!" Saito instantly blurted out an expletive, completely stunned.

This website is that powerful?! Ten thousand yuan in creation funds for just one video?!!

This prompted Saito to quickly open the website's backend and carefully look at the various benefits.

Before, he thought it was a scam site, so he hadn't really looked at the benefits. But now it was different; the other party had so generously given him ten thousand yuan.

It probably wasn't a scam site, but a serious one that intended to grow and do well.

The benefits of multiverse projection were similar to other websites.

Roughly, video data like likes, coins, favorites, and shares would give the uploader very generous rewards.

And besides that, there was a tipping system.

However, Saito felt that this tipping system was likely not much different from Bilibili's charging system, so he skipped right over it.

"Ding-dong."

Just as Saito was looking at the various benefits of the video site, a backend message arrived.

Saito clicked on it and found it was a message from the website's official admin.

[Hello, Mr. Saito. I am the manager of the multiverse projection website. Your first video has been published. Once it passes review,]

[This website will give you the best recommendation slots, allowing audiences from other worlds to see your exciting video immediately.]

[Furthermore, if you have any questions about this website, you can consult me at any time, and I will answer as soon as possible.]

"Other worlds?" Saito was full of question marks, clearly not quite understanding the meaning of that phrase.

At the same time, Saito felt that the other party, being the official website manager, was perhaps a bit too polite, feeling almost like customer service.

Thinking of this, Saito exchanged a few simple pleasantries, then closed his computer to take a shower and enter sleep mode.

After all, making videos is very tiring, even if it's just an inventory video; it's enough to leave one physically and mentally exhausted.

While Saito was sound asleep,

His video passed the review.
